Wonder if it has anything to do with the possible merging of some British and French militaries?

As far as the misguided hate in this thread goes, American, British, French are just labels. Ultimately a good or bad person has nothing to do with their nationality.

The earth is my nationality. Humanity is my race.

To keep it on topic, it should come as no surprise Mr Obama feels this way. As the article said

The comments follow a pattern of coldness towards the UK. When Gordon Brown was prime minister, Mr Obama snubbed his requests for meetings in the U.S. He also denounced Britain during his inauguration speech

Well, if he thinks that there's 57 States, then perhaps he thinks he can have two greatest allies ?

It will certainly be interesting to see what Obama DOES get in the forthcoming top level visit from China...

Mr Geitner and Gates have been making some pretty tough statements about what they want from China, and it remains to be seen if they'll get what they want, a Panda might be a good start, perhaps it is symbolic?

Did France get a Panda?

All eyes on the USA - will they get a Panda?

Somehow I doubt it, but you never know.

It's really going to come to a head this year I think...will the USA and China indulge/openly in a trade/cold war?

How will the Euro-zone, and Britain, react to that AND resolve the Euro crisis...?

What was the Panda all about?

Obama...the half term junior senator from Illinois that spent the half of his half term running for another office? We are speaking of the Community Organizer in Chief aren't we? The guy that recieved the Nobel Peace Prize for "just wanting to get rid of the worlds nuclear arsenal"? Doesn't matter that he did nothing at the time folks. He wanted to get rid of them...so lets givem' a peace prize
!
Puuuuhhleease people! ! !

Obama is a George Soros and TPTB sock puppet.

Do you honestly believe the majority of Americans are so dumb as to believe in the snake oil this guy is selling?
Just a few months ago Sarkozy was calling Obama naiive and egotistical but now they are best buddies?
Any educated American that takes the time to research for themselves and not drink the "kool-aid" knows this guy is a one term President.

Take a few minutes to peruse through this website I am posting if you want to learn a bit more about our POTUS.
This is the best compilation of information on Obama I have found on the web.

No

We have a conservative coalition government.

The NHS may be deemed "socialist" but on the whole we are capititalistic.

Well the common view in the area where I live is that your government is socialist compared to the US, and so is most of Europe, only because of all your government programs. We don't like taxes period, and we like even less the idea of government taking upon itself to force any kinds of social programs upon us at our own expense. We only recently adopted government-forced healthcare if you remember, and our Congress did it while we were kicking and screaming the whole way, and people still raise hell about it. I can't disagree, because I think we were better off having our own choice and leaving it a private matter.

Our own "conservatives" (I really can't stand the two-party system) consider the government taking upon itself any of these kinds of social programs "for the good of the people" to be socialist, as do most others besides the people actually pushing for those things. The UK and US seem to have different philosophies on this issue, just like gun control laws and a few other key differences between us, from where I'm sitting.

Infact we got two panda's, apparantly as a symbol of togetherness with "historic" new business deals with China.

Its known as "Panda diplomacy" and apparantly is a big deal.

I had a dream a few nights ago, a real strange kind of surreal one as I was about to wake.

In the dream there was French checkpoint that was very important. Important enough for me to google search what it meant. What I found was a French company which back in the late 90's became a huge source for compiling all data in security for the entire internet, or that was how I understood it.

This company and it's www contracts were to be responsible for all security to ensure the integrity of corportae and individual privacy.

I am American and feel the same why you brits do about what Obama said. Just understand that isn't the American view point of the people just some guy who will most likely not be in office come election time

Thats the feeling I get from Americans on these boards.

He is either out of touch, a hater, a muppet, his brains missing

Or all of the above.

I do not think he represents the majority of Americans at all.

You would be correct. On all counts. You have no idea how ashamed I am of the US government at the moment. I can't wait until our next presidential election. I don't care who the GOP runs. They will get my vote.

Man that was a big no-no on Obama's part. That adds more to the reasoning of why he is more hated day by day. I'm ashamed to even call him our President.

France is our biggest ally? The French can't stand us and they make it very well-known.

U.K people please do not judge Americans for what this idiot said. It is far from the truth. He represents himself, not us. I'm proud to have the U.K as our allies. The French can kiss my a$$....

Dont worry, we know where we stand with old barry, especially after the winston churchill bust he got shipped back to the uk from the oval office.

Our ancestors hurt his great grandad so he bears an unproffessional disdain for us.

He is the democrats sarah palin and just as embarrassing.
