Obama warns - August 3rd - Possibly no social security checks will be paid.

While looking through various sites and reading comments with articles I ran across the following comment on CBSNEWS via DRUDGE Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3.

Think real hard and listen very carefully what he just proposed...Social Security checks may not go out on August 3rd if the debt ceiling is not raised,That means that the imperial federal government needs to borrow more money (in other words it runs out of cash ),above and beyond the statutory limit in place right now at $14.23 trillion dollars, in order to just meet its obligations for social security and military pay.

Doesn't that frighten the living daylights out of you?

What he's just proposed withholding Social Security checks is very telling,This is extortion, pure and simple,This is beyond fear mongering.

Every American, right now, should be burning up the phone lines to their Senate and Congressional representatives to tell them that we will not "submit" to his extortion and start writing up the articles of impeachment, right now.

This man took an oath to faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States of America and to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

This country is not a tyranny or a dictatorship,We are a Republic and all citizens have rights.

Article II, Section 4....."The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.".....this "proposal" by Barack Hussein Obama to threaten to withhold legislated payments to citizens of this country is extortion or "bribery" and I believe fits the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors".

Now I'm wondering if the last part would be true and possible to get this idiot out of office. Biden might be no better but he doesn't seem to be as big of an iideologue and could maybe really work with congress.

well, at least it wasn't the military pay this time!!!
so, now, it's the social security.

okay, technically this would BE default!! if social security hasn't taken in enough revenue this past month to cover these checks, well, the fund is one of the biggest holders of that debt, and one of the conditions that was stipulated when they took the reserves out of the fund was that the money would be paid back, on demand, when it was needed!!!

and well, I don't see where all the blaming obama is coming from really, it's congress that has to come to agreement, which is gonna be rather difficult when one side doesn't want to cut the spending, and the other doesn't want to increase the revenues. obama tried to work out a deal, and was blasted by both sides, how dare he put social security on the table!! heck no!! we aren't allowing any increases in taxes!!
I propose that if there isn't enough money to cover the checks for social security, that the add all those politicians, the pres, the vp, the senate, and the house, salaries into the pot and divide it among the seniors..most of who were faithful in going to work everyday, doing a better job that these fools we call leaders are doing, paid their taxes (even that social security tax that well, came with a promise!!), raised their kids, and usually play a major role in their grandkid's lives!!

obama put social security one the table, with the condition that any savings from cuts to the program would be used to fortify the program, not go into paying off d debt that social security had no part in creating (unless of course, you consider the fact that the program isn't beinging in a giant surplus anymore and keeping the gov't from putting the printing press into hyperdrive mush sooner, or borrowing the money from other, more costly, sources!!

what can we do???
if this actually happens, which I doubt it will.....
but who know...
well, we start up a few charities that are specifically to help the elderly that have lost this revenue...
we figure out just how much we will be paying in taxes...
we give all we can to this charity, hopefully to the point where the deduction amounts are close to what we would be paying...
and well, we write our elected representatives and we tell them what we are doing, and informing them in advance that they will not be getting much from us till this issue is resolved and our elderly are no longer in need of this charity!!!
