India Under Terror Attack! At least ten people killed in Mumbai shootings: TV (now 125 +)

At least 80 people were dead and over 300 injured in the terror attacks, hospital sources said.

ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed during attacks in the financial city. Additional Commissioner Ashok Tampte and encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar died at attack in Metro Cinema.

Two terrorists were still inside the Oberoi Hotel and commando operation was on.

Two terrorists were killed at Chaupatti in Mumbai, police said.

An unknown outfit, Deccan Mujahideen, has sent an email to news organizations claiming that it carried out the Mumbai attacks.

The Army and Navy in Mumbai were put on alert. 65 Army commandos and 200 NSG commandos were being rushed to Mumbai, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said.

Terrorists hijacked white police jeep near Metro cinema in South Mumbai .

Firing was also reported near Maharashtra state assembly building in South Mumbai.

Armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades, a couple of terrorists entered the passenger hall of CST and opened fire and threw grenades, Mumbai General Railway Police Commissioner A K Sharma said.

The terror strike which began at 10:33 PM at Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus(CST), formerly known as the Victoria Terminus(VT), claimed 10 lives in the premises of the station alone, police said.

Three persons were killed in a bomb explosion in a taxi on Mazegaon dockyard road and an equal number were gunned down at Taj Hotel. The victims in the hotel were its employees.

The lobby of the Oberoi hotel was on fire and the hotel evacuated, eyewitnesses said.

Maharashtra DGP A N Roy said tonight's attack in "at least seven places" is a "terror strike."

This is well organised to be a "new group" of tatterdemalions on a rampage. Too accurate and too perfect really. Pakistan intelligence have a history of "activities" in India.

This thread is about the unfolding events in India, and who may be involved. It isn't about political ideology. Lets just focus on the event itself, and if someone feels the need to start a new thread discussing the reasons for the attacks, feel free to do so, always keeping the T&C in mind.

Everyone needs to calm down a notch and respect other members.

Fair enough. However, let's look at this situation from all sides in order to fully analyze the situation. This is the only way to wholly understand what is occurring and this thinking process may even identify a way to stop future events like this. It may be hard to think outside of the box right now, but let's try later after everything has cooled down.

That's awesome that you choose a bouncing laughing head and ask why people are saying these attacks are bad as people are dead.

People are condemning it because its attacks on random people and it looks like about 75-100 people have died. That's people on each side of the attack.


Maybe you should take half a second to think about what you posting before you hit the button at the bottom. Try and put yourself in the shoes of the family of one of the dead people. You can pick the brother of the dead shooter or the brother of the dead American who was there on vacation. Either way its not a happy set of shoes to walk in.
