Alan Pardew knows the chase is on as West Ham closed the gap on Nationwide Division One leaders Norwich and West Brom to seven points with their biggest win of the season at Upton Park.

Matthew Etherington's hat-trick and goals from Bobby Zamora and Nigel Reo-Coker handed rock bottom Wimbledon a 5-0 drubbing and propelled the Hammers into third place. And West Ham manager Pardew believes the top two will be feeling the pressure as the race for automatic promotion gathers pace.

They easily disposed of Wimbledon, but they are bottom of the league and have been stuffed by lots of teams this season.

But West Ham must take alot from this game and think what they can do,there is still alot of points to get and if Norwich and West Brom slip up West Ham will be snapping at there heels for a automatic promotion place.

I agree speedfreak but it was still a great win, tough game comming up against Sunderland and it's a must win for us.

Sunderland will be a tough game and bad news as David Connolly is an injury worry for West Ham manager Alan Pardew. The Hammers striker suffered a thigh strain during the 5-0 thrashing of Wimbledon and will have a late test.Fellow forward Bobby Zamora also sustained a knock in that match but is back in training and will be fit to play.Hayden Mullins is expected to return after suffering back spasms and is likely to replace Andy Melville in the starting line-up.

Well it's gonna be a real tough one today as everyone say's,if West Ham can win they certainly have a chance to catch the 2 teams at the top Norwich and West Brom.

What bad news just for losing but the injury to Etherington...

Sunderland stepped up their promotion push as second-goals from Kevin Kyle and Jeff Whitley sunk rivals West Ham.
Kyle diverted home a free-kick from close range on the hour and Whitley cashed in on Christian Dailly's error to score the second 16 minutes later.Sunderland's Mart Poom saved well from Bobby Zamora's header and a 20-yard drive from Marlon Harewood.West Ham's misery increased when Matthew Etherington suffered a suspected broken leg after 17 minutes.Etherington was undergoing tests to discover the extent of his injury as the Hammers' fear a serious blow to their promotion bid.

Well some good news as West Ham's Matthew Etherington breathed a sigh of relief after X-rays revealed he has not broken a leg. Etherington was stretchered off during the 2-0 defeat by Sunderland following Stephen Wright's challenge. After X-rays at a local hospital showed there was no break.

We hear the roar as West Ham put the latest defeat behind them and at Half Time we are winning 4-0!!!

Goalscorers

Marlon Harewood 2
Reo - Coker 1
Joel McAnuff 1

Crewe havn't even had a shot on target so we must be playing well and there could be a few more goals in the second half..!!!!!!

A interesting second half and more goals scored but not by who i thought Steve Jones has scored 2 goals for Crewe and it's West Ham 4 Crewe 2...

Repka got booked for us yet again this time for dissent.

Crewe have had 2 shots on target and scored both times..

Alan Pardew has said he will not sign anymore players this season

Is this a wise choice?
