G'day Z,

Just looking around I have found 2 distinct sizes (both are 200 pixels wide though)

1. The 440 pixels (actually 428 fits mine perfectly)
2. The 462 pixels (do a screen grab of DTOMs and measure it)

Those with the "Subject Matter Expert" logo are also larger.

I have had to screen grab 3 times so far to get exact dimensions for member requests - the last time being to adjust Strewths one which ended up being 426 pixels.

This "exactness' obviously only applies when the image requires a top and bottom fit.

Yah, no work around for that. Avatars are static, whilst the background scales.

It's 198, but 200 is safe.

440 is a good measure for 1-line or no custom titles.

I think around 460-ish for fsme and mods, but I need to look at that.

Ignore my frantic PMs, please! lol!

I have the OLD clear gif on my computer. I have to upload it into my photobook at ATS or it won't work (who knew?) so the short file you gave me was a no-go. Easily solved if I have the dimensions of the clear gif, however, I can resize and upload. Also - 440 is the new length? I just adjusted a new version of my avatar to that so more of the pic would show.

Got ya - now it makes sense, I was not accounting for the custom titles which increase the length.

I did ask S.O a few days back to clarify all of this but it may have gotten lost in the ocean of other requests / hiccups.

Thanks again for the clarification, I think I will experiment with adding various amounts of text to the title and record the dimension.

Is the length static for each user, assuming no changes in title line, etc?

If so, you can still do the same thing you have done....we will just need to identify the canvas size before you start.

It's not so much the individual PC display, I can make it look fine on my computer, but when someone goes to view it on a different screen at a different resolution, the background resizes (scales) to that display.

Making it nearly impossible for precise animations.

I can do better. Just playing around......

Using a non-standard sentence structure..... (large words and/or strategic placing of words without spaces - in this instant I used "abovetopsecret-EarthsUnsolvedX-Files"), the maximum pixel length I can achieve is 610 pixels, this is made up from;

Max character count for "Title" = 250 (13 lines of text)
Maximum character count for "Location" = 51 (2 ADDITIONAL lines of text)
Gives an overall dimension of 198 x 610........

So each line of text subtracted from this size is 13 pixels in length.

Quick Reference Guide:

15 lines = 610
14 lines = 597
13 lines = 584
12 lines = 571
11 lines = 558
10 lines = 545
9 lines = 532
8 lines = 519
7 lines = 506
6 lines = 493
5 lines = 480
4 lines = 467
3 lines = 445
Standard embedded lines = 432......................

REMEMBER, the above reference guide is based upon using the non-standard sentence structure to achieve maximum length possible.

Based upon standard sentence structure (aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa etc.....)
Maximum "Title" character count = 250 (8 lines of text)
Maximum "Location" character count = 51 (1 ADDITIONAL line of text)
Gives an overall dimension of 198 x 532 pixels..............

IMPORTANT:
*You are governed by the character count.
* Character count per line is 33.
* Spacings v's word size is vital.
* Using a single "." (period, dot) at the first and last character count and then using your space bar inbetween DOES NOT work.
* The "." is very small in width so 250 dots for characters only gives you a maximum length of 480.....

Oh man, I would be spewin. Audi Convertible too !!!

Same happened to me about 2 years ago in a carpark at a hotel (pub), I asked if I could see the CCTV footage and the management agreed. Fortunately the plate was visible so I found the culprit after showing police the video.

Needless to say, I didn't have to pay for repairs.

That was my pride and joy too - WRX (weaponized to 450hp).
