We here in CA cant find a place to park in front of our own homes due to 4 bedroom houses being rented to 4 different families.

Yes, we want more of that!

problem is the niimbyes (no immigrants in my back yard) who want the all cheap goods, labour and cheap money yet do all they can to block being the ones who have to house immigrants or poor people anywhere near them, that is why there are no solutions to the existing housing issues, that problem is your solution is very much like those male who tell women to find solution to make the trans happy.

the thing is we can do this as a Venn diagram with all the other topics and in the end it'll just radicalise vast swathes of the population and there will be no positive outcomes left..

And of course no one remembers this, but as recently as 2020 we had a solution and illegal immigration was down 90%. Illegals who came to the US to seek asylum had to “remain in Mexico.” Mexico held them on that side of the border, and paid for their room and board while they waited to have their cases adjudicated. Mexico‘s communist president decided it was better for Mexico to follow that policy than this unrestrained immigration that is causing so much hatred.

It took Biden nearly a year to deconstruct that functional system, with interlocking safeguards. But Biden got the job done.

every month is a new record

Trump is a spoiled rich kid who only gives a # about himself. But he had the common sense to do common sense border security.

The clowns in the plutocrat party are tearing down this country as fast as they can. That’s all

You do know you can get a permit to turn the front yard into a parking space, right?

that reminds me of my birth town at one point the greens wanted to copy Amsterdam and make it a drugs capital then as the underage drinking capital then tried to copy being a us sanctuary city and more recently a fake green city. after wrecking the city the greens have collapsed as a party as they couldn't even deliver the basics.. though to be fair they did spread covid around the UK..

if a political party can't even deliver the basics eventually its support will collapse.. and at this point that is happening on all sides both sides of the Atlantic and i aim that at fake greens, fake liberals, fake socialists and fake conservatives, there may be one or 2 not fake but entire establishment is fake..

You know that is up to local jurisdiction, RIGHT?

You can't park on your lawn in my town. You have to get a permit to pave your lawn over, and they won't do that for extra parking.

People have taken to leaving chairs with police tape tied between them in front of their homes to save themselves their own spot.

The problem has been going on so long that in CA we have the American children of migrants now old enough to vote. They certainly aren't going to vote for a politician that might deport their parents.

Its now paying off for the democrats quite nicely here in the SW, such that we are struggling under the burden, but nobody wants their parents deported.

Well then get the bylaws changed like in New York.

I mean really for Cali it would be a drought solution - less grass to water.

I can appreciate the situation.. my part of the English coast is where all the invaders land, the thing is the destabilising effects creates a new grouping that pivots eject the incomers and those doing the destabilising, it looks like it takes a generation for that grouping to emerge.. so the 60s warnings of violence/rivers of blood was very premature..

as i have 3 boys I'm rather concerned how close we are already and with the internet once it all kicks off how quickly the violence spreads

Your solution is to simply "stuff more people in your homes and pave more parking spaces". Seriously? You first!

City will issue a permit to landscape to a desert lawn that doesn't need watering.

And we can only water once a week. So most lawns are dead.

You can't park on them because oil drips into the soil.

Paved over lawns are not environmentally friendly either.

So, we just fight overcrowding in the burbs now.

There aren't any immigrants in my rural area, they are all sleeping on the streets of the biggest cities. How many have you taken in?

I would bet that many people would welcome zoning changes so they can make more income through rentals and do whatever they want with their properties.

I guess you missed the part where there are 4 families in a 4 bedroom house. None of them own the home.

Well I'm sort of interested in the last line of the article. Where it says officials are encouraging the migrants to take placements outside the city when they become available. Seems like they're talking out of both sides of their mouth when earlier in the article they say they have such a labor shortage and need these migrants to get work permits ASAP. Do they need the labor or don't they?

They probably expect them to make a 3-hour commute to London for work.

The officials are off their rockers. After Covid city folks flocked to the suburbs and light rural. There is no housing.

The mayor of New York was talking about placing migrants into housing and paying people, similar to foster care.
Does he realize there are kids still in the system because they can’t find homes, but he thinks people want a possibly dangerous migrant living with them and their kids, he must be smoking something.

The only other thing I can think of is that they do the unthinkable and force people/businesses to take them on. Perhaps empty buildings will be used to house them. If the is the case, every homeless American should rise up……

On the FLIP side. There are many employers hurting for manual labor employees. Perhaps a deal can be made. Let them build barracks and house/feed them in return for cheap labor……

On the conspiracy side………..The US has poked its nose into countries like Venezuela and others, some are even saying there are Chinese among them too. Maybe they are using legitimate migrants as a cover for something sinister??

Isn't that out of desperation because the housing or sheltering problems have not been solved?

I expect the money I send via taxes to my government to handle these types of problems and if they don't then that's on all of us.
