Honestly, I would never put myself in such a position where I would get injured or be in great pain, but we all end up having something happen to us... heres my accounts.

I have scalded my left hand before when I was 6, but all that felt like was getting touched by a cold ice cube all over the effected area on my hand... then there was the following sting. I would rate that very low on the pain scale, as I've experienced worse feelings.

Even though I'm a woman, These most painful things to have happened to me would seem to fit better if it was a guy saying it. Lol

1. Doing complete splits on Roller Blades at the age of 5 or 6... My groin hurt so badly afterwards... It was horrible and the pain lasted for a couple hours I'd rate it a 6-7 in how bad it felt.

2. Falling onto a metal bar hitting my crotch from 3 feet above (I was about 5)... It felt horrible. I ran to the bathroom to even make sure that I was physically fine.. thankfully I was, no broken pelvis or whatnot... but the physical pain... Oh boy... It was just bad.

3. Getting Gas Pedalled by my sister because I pissed her off... Same feeling as #1 but toned down. I was in pain for about 20 minutes though, and it even brought a lone tear to my left eye.

Well, for non Groinal related pain... hmmm... actually, getting my hand caught in a car door still doesn't compare to doing the splits in Roller Skates, but Spraining both ankles at the same time... that Was hell, and worse since my sister just left me on the grass of the school field as she went off to class. It was very painful making my way to class (I was probably 9). I know, it's weird when compared to list above.

As for Emotional pain, it would likely be with the Divorce of my parents back around 2001/02 (I don't remember exactly). Then there is my Father being posted to another province, my sister going along with him... And I stayed where I am now just so I could finish school... I also felt it was too much to just leave my mum. I can tell you, it was very painful for me to watch my father drive off with my sister on their way to their new posted location. The pain I could say was so much so that the stress made me loose over 20 lbs and gave me fat filled diarrhea for about 3 months (as I was excreting the fat in my body). I can tell you, the pain is bad, and that divorce is a sure way to hurt and scar someone emotionally.

I am a cluster headache sufferer. I get them about one month out of a year, and they last for about an hour, which is manageable. I've had many injuries, but this strange malady takes the cake. These headaches bring me to my knees.

I've had kidney stones once and man that was uncomfortable as hell. Here's the kicker they were only the size of a grain of sand they said. So my pain was great but could have been much much worse.

Stubbing my toe is also very #ing high.

Physical: I had a compacted wisdom tooth out at a real dodgy dentist. It shattered and he had to get the little bits out piece by piece. Unfortunately he missed a bit and a couple of days later the gum got seriously infected. The right side of my face was swollen up like a melon and I was in utter agony for a couple of days until the high dose antibiotics started to work. I would have taken a quick death if it had been offered. Instead I drank about 4 bottles of Jameson's which hardly helped at all but at least allowed me a bit of sleep/unconsciousness. The dentist told me Irish whiskey was best for tooth pain. He was a German.

In a SHTF scenario, dental problems terrify me far more than zombies, rapist gangs of hillbilly nazis or starvation. The final straw before ending it all with a bullet through the mouth would be the realization that I needed a root canal treatment with no novocaine. It just wouldn't be worth the agro.

Second most painful was a shattered big toe from a 50/50 tackle playing football. No sleep for 3 days.

Emotional: I wrote off my immaculate 20 year old Ford Capri in May 1997. I was heartbroken. I have never loved another since.

A skull fracture.
Take the worst hangover ever and multiply it by 20.

I bounced back pretty fast but the pain in the beginning was a little much.

Emotional pain is for another thread.

The death of someone I loved, My nan when I was 7 years of age, followed by the marriage of a girl whom I was in love with to another man but I wished them both only happiness and fought my own selfish emotion's on that one (my philosophy was if it was meant to be it would have been but it was not so it was not meant to be), might have driven me a little loopy as I had a lot of wierdness in my life after, even after 24 year's I still get a pang when I see the woman from time to time and do all I can to avoid her without making it obvious.
Physically it would have to be when I strained my back (no wonder women think we are wimp's they are right you know), I have scalded my whole right arm up to the elbow in boiling water, had a piece of wood stuck in my eye socket (my good eye) luckily it only bruised and grazed the eye ball though my peripheral vision took month's to recover, broke my big toe (more painful than it sound's), crushed 3 metacarpsals in my hand when I lost my temper and control but hit a wall rather than a person (which I have never done) but non equalled the back pain (I had to grab the top of furiniture and keep the weight of the bottom of my back - like toothache but far far stronger in you lower back around the base of the spine).

Ski jump, really high, onto my side.

Dislocated my shoulder, separated my clavicle from my shoulder, and got a concussion from a work truck slamming into the driver side of my van at like 80 MPH.

kicked in the nuts by steel toe doc martens.

hit in the head with a baseball bat full swing.

pantera mosh pit, spikey ring, my face....

oh, tooth pain, much tooth pain various times.

When my father left the house.

When my mother died.

I accidentally severed a nerve once in a wicked laceration, have spurs along my spine, have chronic back pain, chronic uticaria, I've had a miscarriage and broken a bone.

All trumped by a dental abscess that spread up to my sinuses and required emergence extraction before it went septic.

The tooth pain ...

Nothing. Comes. Close.

For months and months it was AGONY. Like the fires of Dantes Inferno had been relegated to the confines of my FACE.

I looked like Quasimoto my face was so swollen and contorted.

So yeah, an abscessed tooth, hands down. This is in the survival forum so I'll go ahead and throw it out there that one should probably include oil of clove (clinically known as eugenol) in their bug out bag ... it can be applied as a topical analgesic for dental pain. DILUTE it though because it IS a powerful pain reliever and will actually kill your nerves if applied incorrectly.

I imagine large burns, kidney stones and cluster headaches are probably worse on the pain scale ... if that were possible.

Interesting question.

Had an eye surgeon have to sew my eyeball without anesthetic.
Fell on the floor with a needle still through my eye, while vomiting from shock.

A couple years ago I was in and out of the hospital due to an issue with my left kidney. After one of my surgeries, I was laying in the hospital bed with a drainage tube sticking out that was connected to the surgery site by the left ureter in order to prevent blood clots from clogging things up. I also had a catheter. I was asleep and woke up to a pain in my bladder that quickly became worse and worse; I remember I was rolling my head back and forth and moaning in pain. What happened was these 2 giant blood clots had made their way down into my bladder and clogged the catheter tube, apparently causing my already horribly sore after-surgery bladder to fill up and have terrible spasms. My mom started manipulating the catheter tube and ended up getting the blood clots to flow down through and the pain quickly subsided, after which I passed out back to sleep.

Another time, during the time I was having all my kidney issues and complications, I woke up one morning with a full bladder, only to discover that I was unable to pee. This medication I was on was preventing my muscles involved with peeing from working. By the time I got to the hospital I was practically begging for a catheter, and I ****ing hate those things with a passion. If I hadn't had access to a hospital I probably would've ended up sticking a knife into my bladder just to try to relieve myself.

As far as being sick, I had to get a renal lasix scan twice. The first time, the doctors didn't know what the problem was (that my left ureter had been grown shut for years and my kidney was unable to drain). What renal lasix does is basically forces a ton of fluid from your body through your kidneys and down through the rest of your urinary system... So imagine an unbreakable balloon that's full to capacity of water and forcing even more water into it. That was my kidney. On top of that, they apparently gave me way too much of the lasix stuff in the first place. I was so sick I couldn't move or talk and I had to be taken out in a wheelchair. It felt so horrible that I actually wanted to die.

OMG!

That's nuts! I think I'd rather deal with the pain from another kidney stone. He sewed your EYE? That makes me ill just thinking about it. Blahh....that's just...wow.

Cocaine drops are your friend for that sort of thing. I've had slag chunks scraped out of my eye wide awake. But the medic put a drop of coc aine extract in there first. It's my first choice for tooth work in the field, too.

Hmm, I guess I'll toss my little bit out there...

Back in '08, I had to have all four wisdom teeth removed because they were impacted and growing in laterally and crushing the molars in front of them (7 teeth were removed all in one sitting). I had been dealing with the pain for about six months because I did not have insurance, nor the money to pay for the dentist. I was waking up from the pain two to three times a night and soaking a gauze pad with anbesol and stuffing it in my cheek in order to go back to sleep. During this entire time, I was maintaining a full-time job.

I have had knifing abdominal pains that would not pass unless I forced myself to vomit, these things would last for hours and like others, I would be lying on the floor writhing in pain. I never had it diagnosed, I worked on my diet and magically, it went away.

When I was 15, I had to have 5 different surgeries for in-grown toenails that had become massively infected (we were very poor and the doctor's office was frowned upon by my parents), but in the surgeries, before I finally saw a specialist, I had to have in between the first two toes on each foot and in the bottom of the ball of my foot. That was excruciating.

When i worked in the oil heating field, I was attempting to shift a 500 pound boiler, which lay on a dolley, to the side of the truck bed to make room for the remainder of the junk that we had to take; the dolley was frozen to the truck bed and I fought with it until with a powerful yank, it came loose, and slid with my hand still grasping the plate at the bottom, into the side of the truck. I had a bone pushing up but not through the skin. I wrapped my hand, put on a work glove and finished my day. When i went home, I forced my hand back into shape and went to work the next day. Now I have arthritis.

That's all I've got for physical pain that I feel is worthy of a mention here.

I won't go into emotional pain because if I'm honest, I could write an entire novel on that and it took me long enough to put all of that stuff behind me, that I'd rather leave it there for now.

Worst pain I EVER felt ....an infected testicle. They were not sure what caused it, but I can vouch for the pain of the end result. It came on slow, bout two or three days. It got to the point where I couldn't get out of bed, it hurt to breathe. I actually crawled into the E.R., however it was not under my own power, because I didn't want a stupid wheelchair!
-------Side note, I got antibiotics and a ton of Great pain killers, but the best part.... The Dr. told me I need to ....more. I said Doc I'm married in my 30's with two kids, a full time student, with a full time job, when the h3ll would I find time to ....? He said tell your wife more s3x than, So I made him write it on a prescription so I could show her I wasn't lyin!

Worst pain? Definitely emotional.

It is but a distant memory now, but when I was 19 and "in love", I got my heart broken in the most poetically unjust manner. The emotional pain was so severe that within 10 seconds, my right arm went numb. It stayed partially numb for several days.

Ahhh. Heartache. For this there is no cure but time.
