I've had an apendecites, and I had a few broken bones and stuff, had a partial torn Achilles tendon, fully torn muscle on the thigh, not sure which one it was.. but hands down worst pain ever was, SHINGLES, at 23... 10/10 pain

first day suffered through it , I though maybe it was poison oak or something on my skin, figured it would go away. started spreading around my armpits, and chest, some on the back.. the only thing I can say about it, is it felt like someone was dropping acid on my skin, and it was just constantly eating away at ( or melting ). went to the hospital after the second day. after a few days it came down to about an 8.

was in constant pain for about 2 more months, but was manageable. with gud pain killers

shingles virus eats through or destroys nerves, that are running from your spine into the rest of the body

But, ironically, the one that really scared me was the pain one feels when stopping pain killers, or opiates, suddenly... no way to describe that accurately. One's body AND brain is screaming, uncomfortable and sick every unbearable moment. You're sweating, puking, gagging and having cramped spasms while being painfully awake for days and time seems to stop.

I was on them for the burns and boy, I will never look down on addicts ... I never want to experience that again. Be careful kids! Just because a doc prescribes them, doesn't mean you can't get addicted.

I can't say I completely understand, but chronic migraine is what happens when your doctor gives you pain killers for regular migraine, and your body decides it likes the pain killers so much that it responds by doing more of what got it the pain killers. That's how you get the migraines to be chronic, so you wind up spending all your time shut in the dark with your head feeling like it's going to explode in unrelenting pain popping pills like candy without realizing that your only making the headache worse and longer lasting and setting yourself up to get another that much sooner when this one ends.

Thankfully, I was not saddled with any kind of addiction on top of the chronic migraine process, so when I got a neurologist who knew what he was doing, I had no trouble ditching the pills. But I understand how easy it can be to take more and more, and I also will never exactly blame an addict for anything beyond the first hit. And I will never look down any anyone who got hooked on a prescription.

Ive broken bones, had shingles , torn muscles , been stabbed , had stitches without anesthetic , dislocated joints but the worst pain i ever had was cluster headaches which i had for 10 years.

Cluster headaches is worse than childbirth and regarded as the most painful condition known to medical science. Its known as the suicide headache and i used to get them up to 6 times a day for 4 months of the year. It hurts so bad you cant even scream because if you did just let go and scream you would bang you head on a wall til you were unconscious or jump out of a window or something. Migraines are a walk in the park compared to cluster headaches. You learn to deal with levels of pain that are unimaginable to anyone who hasnt had cluster headaches.

The pain of cluster headaches is remarkably greater than in other headache conditions, including severe migraine. The term "Headache" does not adequately convey the severity of the condition; experts have suggested that the disease may be the most painful condition known to medical science. Female patients have reported cluster headache pain as being more severe than childbirth.[8] Peter Goadsby, a neurologist and headache specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, has commented:

"Cluster headache is probably the worst pain that humans experience. I know that's quite a strong remark to make, but if you ask a cluster headache patient if they've had a worse experience, they'll universally say they haven't. ... Women with cluster headache will tell you that an attack is worse than giving birth. So you can imagine that these people give birth without anaesthetic once or twice a day, for six, eight or ten weeks at a time, and then have a break

source

the crazy thing about the is they start and stop very suddenly its almost like flicking a switch on or off. They usually only last between 7mins - 3 hrs, i had one once go on for an hour.

Heres some vids of what its like, i find it very difficult to watch these videos. Warning you may also find them upsetting.

Of course the worst thing about cluster headaches is that they happen in clusters 1-3 times a year. So when you get the first one you know you are going to be locking into a cycle of pain every day for the next 2 months. It like being booked into be tortured every year. You find that most people who have cluster headaches dont own guns for fear of ending it all.

OP, man, I had 2 kidney stone attacks myself, so I can second you on that brother, that is a pain that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

My top worst pain was having to cauterize my penis, I don't recommend this course of action to anyone, but I did it, myself, and although it was a very quick procedure I still clench up when I recall it. To summarize, briefly, I incurred a wound whilst attending to my at the time girlfriend's seemingly insatiable needs, the wound was small but would not heal(it looked like a mouse had taken a bite out of my dick basically), this persisted for over a week without showing any signs of change, so I deliberated about going to the doctor or fixing it myself, in the end I heated a small steel rod to red-hot and applied it to the wound. What can I say, it hurt, but it worked.

Edit: I'd like to add that recently I was present at the birth of my son, my girlfriend is as hard as nails, but I've never seen her like that, that's pain, a pain I'll never experience, but so worth it. Hats off to the mothers on here, childbirth is no joke.

I've been shot, stabbed and hit by two cars but the worst pain I've felt so far is when I had a gall stone.

I have experienced all possible common trauma pains: 3rd degree burns, broken bones, hands ankles, hamstrings, staircase fall & torn back muscles, metal bat to the head, torn ligaments ankles and shoulders, teeth, & gas pains.

Each one is distinct IMO, some come and go and some last the duration, I have experienced all. Each one is worse the first time but if it was up to me and you couldn't stop it, I'd say a tie of tooth pressure pain followed by water pouring on third degree burns. But if bone pain or gas pains were nonstop it would have to take the prize. I have almost passed out from both of those. Shoulder ligaments and broken ribs were bad too.

Emotional pain & stress is a different animal and too subjective to discuss. This pain is more harmful than painful IMO. We all have our grief and we all handle it differently.

The worst pain that I have ever felt was passing an uncle Ben's long-rice-sized kidney stone while giving premature birth to a 12 pound baby because I was rushed to the hospital after an accident in which I ruptured my spleen, cracked 4 ribs, fractured my sternum, and gashed my head open on the sun visor that did not fold as my head flung toward it.
I was in the accident because some kid on the side of the road shot me in the ear canal with a high-powered pellet rifle, rupturing my eardrum at the precise moment that I was sneezing. I happened to sneeze while picking my nose as I was driving over a speed bump and so my head came down at the same force in which my finger went up, puncturing my own mucous membranes, which of course really agitated my already painful sinusitis. The tip of my finger was also struck by the high caliber pellet that just came through my eardrum, causing severe lead poising which lead to necrosis and amputation of my left hand and ultimately the painful emotional loss of a nice watch that i used to wear there.

Being a man, I thankfully will never have to deliver a child...scary to watch! Honestly, the worst emotional pain I can drum up (after reading this thread) is the fear that I will likely one day have a kidney stone.

Oh man kidney stones are a bitch!!! Being stabbed with a prison shank isn't all that great of a feeling either, kinda burns.Broken ribs also suck the big one! They hurt with every breath...
But honestly I don't think any pain I feel could ever compare to the pain my girlfriend feels every day.She has CML(chronic myeloid leukemia) and she pain in her muscles and bones all day every day and there is no cure so she kinda just has to deal with it for the next 40 or 50 years. She has also stopped taking her meds because she had started to become dependent upon them so now all she has is #ing tylenol. It sucks!

As far as I'm concerned the doctor would have F'd around, prescribed me some cream, told me to 'take it easy' and charged me more money than I had at the time. Like I said, it hurt but it worked, instant problem solved.

Severe testicular torsion. A Morphine IV barely put a dent on the pain. Second place would have to be sciatica ..... Pure hell.

I was living in the forest and caught a water borne virus. And I started having the most incredible abdominal pains. And started pooping blood. And had to be carried to a car and rushed to a hospital. Moral of the story... It can get bad fast if shtf if you don't have medical professionals with you.

Stung, apparently by a scorpion, nearly 20 years ago. Doctors determined that it must have been a bark scorpion.

The vomiting went on and on, with hallucinations that had absolutely no connection to what my surroundings in material reality were at the time. The pain was insane. I never saw my attacker, and the friend who rescued me was afraid it had been a black widow or brown recluse (which he thought would require different treatments.) He never found the assailant, so we'll never be 100% certain.

Yep, just googled an image;

I still taste vomit when a I see the image of a scorpion.

Losing love is the worst pain. Its the only pain that transfer from mental to physical. It's not always by choice. Sometimes they pass, and sometimes it's just not meant to be. It's also the only pain, that is addicting when you get it and come with withdrawals when u lose it. (Can't sleep, eat, or think) All of us humans need some type of Love. To bad it's the worst pain in the world

Giving birth without epidurals, which I did not fancy the thought of.Natural birth is horrendous but the after-pain of a Caesarean hurts like hell too.I gave birth naturally to my 2 daughters+had a C-section with my son,so as far as birthgiving goes, you will be in a world of hurt either during,or after.Hehe I freaked out the nurses after my C-section though-i was desperate to be outside for fresh air a few hours after the op+the balcony was just meters away from my hospital room door-so I managed to ooze outside dragging a heavy drip stand+holding the catheter bag+plus the wound drainage bag-must've been a sight to see-i could tell they were'nt impressed-i was not supposed to get out of bed at all-which was why they was only going to removw the catheter the next morning.

That's about it for me-never broken anything, except having my nose broken for me by my wonderful adoptive mother's equally adorable 2nd husband.

I've heard kidney stones can be hellish,on par with giving birth-thankfully I've thus far being spared them stones.
I guess of all pain getting burned would be the worst.

The worst physical pain of my life was when I friction burned the inside of my eyelid with a clothesline while playing football (soccer) with my brothers in our backyard back then when I was a teen. It was a torture, I really did suffered that whole night.

More recently, I suffered from a sever ear infection back in August. I kept waking up for three straight days between 2 and 5 am feeling like someone was stabbing me at the deep ends of my ear. It was the first time I cried due to physical pain since my childhood (I think). I actually had to took morphine just to get through that period.

Now, to the emotional pain, it gotta be when my cat Geronimo passed away about two years ago. I found his corpse laying over my neighbour's roof one Tuesday afternoon, a bit of blood coming out from his hear and his mouth smelling like he had been eating poisoned food (disgraceful neighbourhood I live in). He was the cutest thing ever, and even though he suffered a lot through out his life, he always was a vibrant cat full of life, almost puppy like. Im about to cry just by writing this. I actually felt way worse when he died than when either of my three grandpas, aunt and one of my best friends died during that (5 years) period, and I really did loved all of them. I felt really depressed during the rest of that year, and from time to time I still can't help but feel sad about it, but I rarely cry about him anymore.
