Report: Miqati Informed Ambassadors his Rejection to Compromise on Any Political Issue

Premier-designate Najib Miqati met with more than 10 ambassadors in the past two days amid a report that he informed them about his rejection to compromise on any political issue.

Pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat quoted Western diplomatic sources as saying on Sunday that Miqati told the ambassadors that "he didn't intend to compromise on any political file."

And word given to the press that ``severe deterioration of the situation`` in the coming hours is expected in Egypt... HOPEFULLY this means that they know that Mubarak will leave the country...

Hopefully it's not Mubarak starting to just bomb and kill protesters like he just doesn't care. Or worse...foreign intervention to keep Mubarak in power?

My guess is that they're afraid of extremists taking over Egypt after Mubarak's fall. Losing another ally in the ME would be a kick in the groin for Israel.

He could be overthrown anytime soon from what we can all see.
