About a year ago, I watched Season 3, Episode 1 of Black Mirror......Nosedive. I was taken aback by this episode(as a number of others), thinking, wow, this is possible next week. The concept of rating each as they did in the episode was just so plausible, as with smart phones and social media applications, we have already conditioned our society to run with it. It wasn't even a month after the episode was viewed that I saw an article about a 'test' in China using about 10,000 subjects. The article was disturbing to say the least, one individual said he couldn't get a plane flight because his score was too low. My mouth dropped as it seemed they were taking it right out of the episode......The freaky stuff was that about a week or two later, I turned on CNN as I was getting ready for work. There they were, these anchors talking about this experiment. "Well, it is based on Our Fica Credit Score."..........."Well, you know if it works in China it will work in other countries.".........."What a great way for a government to ensure the behavior of their population." Not a single negative word was said by those CNN anchors, and of course, they were giggling the entire time.

Fast forward about a year, and here we are. This will quickly expand beyond the borders of China.......

CHINA’S chilling dictatorship is moving quickly to introduce social scorecards, in which all citizens will be monitored 24/7 and ranked on their behaviour. The Communist Party’s plan is for every one of its 1.4 billion citizens to be at the whim of a dystopian social credit system, and it’s on track to be fully operational by the year 2020. An active pilot program has already seen millions of people each assigned a score out of 800 and either reap its benefits or suffer its consequences — depending on which end of the scale they sit. Under the social credit scheme, points are lost and gained based on readings from a sophisticated network of 200 million surveillance cameras — a figure set to triple in 18 months. The program has been enabled by rapid advances in facial recognition, body scanning and geo-tracking.

Yeah, I have heard about these moves in China. It's a way to control the population and turn everyone into robots. Robots who never question the motives or actions of their government. Very worrying.

Agreed...........create a society that 'self regulates', not unlike the soviet societies that were motivated to report their neighbors.

Wow.

This is scary indeed. It's sad that many services, including utilities and renting apartments, require a credit score now. That's really messed up... and it could get worse?

All ya need is a genocidal cleansing to be incorporated into that.

Its creepy and its coming. I've been watching this development for at least the last 12 months.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that this will be promoted and widely accepted in the US within the next 5 years, if not sooner. And we can easily guess where it will begin...........in the Colleges and Universities. After adoption, high schoolers will be encouraged to garner high social credit in order to get into university and the Universities themselves will doubtless quickly adopt the "social credit" system as a hugely significant portion of their admissions process because of the enormous flexibility it affords the admissions process.

If you can picture this, know that at the moment, the Universities have a huge problem of too many white applicants. They've employed many techniques to "promote" non-whites ahead in the admissions process, but for fear of lawsuits they can't actively discriminate against white students though they'd love to do that.

To get around this problem, starting with the high school age kids, POC, LGBTQ, Muslims etc. will be awarded extra credits on the Social Credit system; whites, christians, white males and heterosexuals in particular will find themselves relegated to the bottom 50% of the Social Credit score, thus disqualifying them from College admission.

Don't think it can happen? It already has!

The plaintiff asserted Harvard docked Asian-American applicants in categories such as likability, “widely respected,” and “positive personality” in a June court filing.

Harvard has a problem with way too many high performing Asians seeking admittance when Harvard has to set aside a certain number of openings for the children of its rich white alumni, (who's kids aren't really all that smart). Worse, Asians apparently don't help with Harvard meeting its diversity goals because apparently Asians don't qualify as POC.

Its already here!

The rest of the world is steps away from trailing the Chinese into a surveillance state. The attitudes are already in place. The U.K. fines and even imprisons people for hate speech or speech deemed abhorrent to the prevailing norms of society. The U.S. is not far behind. Last week, a Manhattan judge ruled a bar can toss Trump supporters for their political viewpoints. A recent proliferation of politically motivated boycotts seeks to punish "bad" viewpoints; protesters are eager to shout down incorrect speech. In this political climate, it’s not difficult to imagine businesses or the government assessing social benefit or worth based upon a variety of factors including political speech.

And of course.........the platform to do this is already in place!

FACEBOOK!

I'd guess we'll start seeing a Facebook/Google collaboration to get this done. And I'd guess they'll start the mechanism in time for the 2020 election!

Let's not forget how some people are viewed trying to get a job and explaining they DO NOT HAVE a Farcebook account?

Here in the UK, if you accept a job as a "senior engineer"/contractor in London, you will likely find yourself supervising international workers from China. For your next job, you will have to get references from them. Strangely enough there is now a shortage of senior engineers.

When I was in Canada, we had some Chinese graduates in our department. They would often tag along with someone if some piece of equipment needed fixing. If the first person was successful, they would repeat the procedure and say they fixed it. If the procedure wasn't successful, then they would say the first person had broken the equipment.

And look at what's happening in instances like the Brett Kavanaugh hearing. Allowing social media and MSM to basically try and convict prominent people in the court of public appeal is laying the groundwork for this, even if people get their day in court and are exonerated we never hear of it and they're guilty/innocent in the public/social domain forever.

We warned that this was bad precedent to allow, but SJWs and the left are too busy being sure it will never come back to bite them.

How little they understand that once the system is instituted for control, they'll be stifled right along with everyone else. They never will have the control.

It's being used from everything to whether you can get a seat at a restaurant, whether you can fly, borrow money, rent a car, get admitted to a hospital, literally everything.

Its going to be a uniquely useful tool to cull the population and insure the longevity of their One Party system.

And believe me, its something irresistible to the Progressives.

Oh, they'll mask it all under "private business decisions" like they do now.

Well, just close your eyes and think of the gigantic enormous profit potential of this thing! Youngsters at my last job stated that they couldn't even get a date without a Facebook account when they were in college. As one young man told me, if you weren't on Facebook, you didn't exist!

Well yea! And of course they'll marry your Social Credit Score with your Financial Credit Score and visa versa. So if you get a crap Social Credit score, you'll have to pay much higher fees and interest on your Visa or Mastercard.

The beauty of this system is that it ensures conformity to the Elites vision for how things should be because once your Social Credit Score starts slipping, it pretty nearly always goes into free fall and in the end.........you can't even buy groceries or a cheeseburger at Whataburger.

This should serve as a warning to the crowd who advocates progressive socialist single party control but it won't. It won't because the proponents envision themselves as inside the elite who will control everyone. It's at our doorstep and the key is in the lock, we need to make sure the door is nailed shut or this is exactly what a global society will look like.

Other than that though, no opinion
