Well, if your only idea of freedom is that it means being "Liberated" from having to pay the bills you don't want to pay, then sure the US isn't the only place with some socialism in it.

And it never has been great because we don't have nearly enough of it. I mean, you're not great as a country until your people are starving in the streets and having to eat zoo animals like they do in Venezuela, but the Venezuelans have free health care! So clearly, Venezuela is still greater than the US.

read my words very carefully....
I was born in the late 50's, graduated high school in the late 70's... I grew up in a small town in upstate ny. there was quite a few factories in that town and most of them had women working in them. heck the canning factory had lots of women working in it. there was more women working in that place than there was men!!! heck, in the summer, there were probably more teenagers working in it than there were men! there were women working all over the place, in the stores, in the ice cream shops, factories, bars... the only difference between then and now is that then, outside of the teachers working in the school and a few other professions, they were all very low paid jobs!!
the point I am making is that there were plenty of women working, and many of those women had to work to add to their husband's income. just like today.

and, as far as the top notch education.... lol... ya sure. let's just say that it's kind of distracting when every time someone walks across the floor above you, a ton of dust or whatever it was falls from the ceiling onto your head, your books, your papers, and if you are eating lunch, your food!!
