Lately, I have also been having these sparks of light flash in peripheral vision during night time...

Either many suffer of the same problem or something is up.

Thank goodness we're not living in Salem during the late 1600's, lol.

I think that a great many of us have been seeing these flashes of energy in our peripheral vision (and sometimes in our dreams, much more vividly and with structure), for a long time but yes, the veil is definitely becoming less affective.

I've been seeing I don't know what, but little lights out of the corners of my eyes darting around. Weird moving shadows and such. And no one can say, "if youre looking for it you'll see it", that's b.s. I'm not looking for it, and will be pre occupied with doing whatever, then all of a sudden I will notice something real subtle in my peripheral vision. Like I said, small darting lights, fleeting shadows. Its weird and i don't quite know how to explain it better than that. This has been going on for a couple weeks now, maybe three. Not sure what to make of it, but I feel better knowing I'm not the only one around having this experience. I know I'm not crazy, or on drugs, or drink, and my job requires me to be an expert observer. I just don't know, and I'll leave it at that.

That's a good explanation, sparks. That's what it looks like. A moving spark. And it does happen at night most often.

So I take it from this comment you don't believe me to be one of the great literary artists of our time.

Have any of you noticed that more people, people on sites like this and maybe people you know personally, are starting to observe strange visual phenomena?

In the last few days my partner has started to see strange movements in his peripheral vision. He's heard me talking about the visual phenomena I see for years, and usually says he doesn't have anything like that. But yesterday he asked 'Is anyone seeing strange rodents darting around?'

Aelf

Funny you brought this up. For the last couple years I've spotted these movements out the corner of my eye, when I look, nothing. Glad I'm not the only one.

Ok, someone has been reading "The Mind parasites" by Colin Wilson. They talk about the rodent looking things in peripheral vision. Although, the idea that an "outside" source of mental disturbances being attributed to a third party on the dark side of the moon directly connected to the old ones referenced in HP Lovecraft's books is attractive (since blame is easier to give that to receive), it sounds like someone's imagination is going a little wild. But, I too have the squigly lines affecting my vision badly for about 30 minutes at a time.... during migraine events that are close to the visual cortex (no actual headache just visual distortion and sparkly crap). Maybe you're having a reaction to food, say a subtle allergic reaction?

Cheers - Dave

Okay SERIOUSLY, if anyone is seeing lights in your peripheral vision, ESPECIALLY middle aged ATSers visit the eye doctor before speculating! It may be early signs of retinal problems!

EH HEM, now with that said, OP I'm really glad that you've posted this because that is exactly what I did this summer...AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. I'm 21 y.o. and in the month of June I visited THREE eye specialists with concerns about the orbs of light I've been seeing in my peripheral vision. The light is small and white, and curves upwards in a C-shape a few times before disappearing. They all scanned my eyes thoroughly and it cost about a few dollars in fees, but it feels good to be able to cross out health causes.

Now I'm stuck wondering what in the actual hell this phenomenon is. I've noticed that it's most intense when there's a dramatic change in lighting, from light to dark or vice versa. My dad is a bit spiritual and says that it's either "angels/guides" communicating or dimensional changes. I'm agnostic, so I'm clearly skeptical. But it's nice to see that others are experiencing this and are curious as well.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm middle aged and yes, the vision has definitely take a hit over the last few years. With that said, I too have been checked y a doctor - nada - and have seen these peripheral flashes for most of my life.

Yes, since October of this year. Peripheral movements and a single spark. And when it's night time before bed, I will blink fast and see an image as if you stare at a light and it burns in your vision, except I'm not staring at any lights while this takes place. And as I close my eyes, I will see these geometrical shapes fly around and I become very dizzy and have to open my eyes.( don't think that last part is a normal symptom haha).

As I drove to town today I swear I saw a squirrel dart at my car in my left periphery and I swerved to miss it and swore that I had to have hit the guy, only to look back and see nothing was there.

Weird times we are in indeed, thanks for posting and glad we aren't alone.

As i give a little more thought to this, it makes me wonder if the sun and its solar storms being more intense and causing some sort of damage to our eyes? My doc did mention that floaters in the eyes r a result of sun damage. Just speculating. How about ringing in the ears? Both my husband and i started that last january. He says his is better...but the ringing in my ears...crazy loud. I hate it. Anyone else have ringing in the ears?

Have them all. Ringing in the ears coming in two forms - a constant "hissing noice" and then a shorter high pitched ringing. Can drove you to drink some days.

As for floaters, it would make sense that perhaps the sun has damaged our eyes but the opthamologist I saw said that as we age, our inner eyes become less elastic and the floaters are merely dislocated skin sells.

I posted earlier that I experienced the "quick light" anomaly when I was doing an evp session and when reviewing the session. It has been two days since trying an audio session and I have not seen any more strange quick light anomalies.

I wouldn't pretend to know what is going on with what I experienced, just thought I would add an update to this.

I plan on holding some evp sessions tomorrow and will see if I experience this anomaly again.

The lights I saw were more like quick, very tiny, wispy like lights.

You know what, I need to think first before I type. You r right about the floaters. I asked the doc about the small patches of yellow (when you squint) and she said that was from sun damage, not the floaters. Just slap me next time I flap my gums and act like I know what I'm talking about!
