Torts I have a feeling the best way to beat the pens is to drown them in your own sweat and blood and choke them with your own bloody bandages.....go olde school on them...you adjust proactively.....an olde school hitters game breaks their fluid movement and gapping and ruins their timing on set plays.....which are things they are thriving on right now.....its time to make it miserble to step on the ice with your team....make it a grind......and choose your target tonight....break a keystone link....the earlier the better.....I told you how....with TEAMWIDE TARGETTING EVERY SHIFT EVERY POSSESION AND ....FEED THE PLAYACTIONS TO THE TARGET ON PURPOSE OVER AND OVER AND OVER......preferably pick someone who works special teams like schultz who has 2x value......and pound the everloving tar out of him with absolute predjudice.....but play the outside on everyone else.......lol....let em know what you are doing.....throw down.....pick a fight because you seem to have fogotten you are already in one....leave Crosby alone....he cannot win a game passing to himself...but slamdance one of his keystone teammates for 60 minutes...and chirp him relentlessly....Call him SidWeeny....lol....relentlessly....lol.

Might as well kick them in the cojones with everything you have got.....borrow a big pair of Daddys big shoes stuff a roll of quarters in the toes of them and go bruise up some shins.....or bust up some cojones.

Sharks....one simple pre-game note....watch for the d-zone exit strategy where they try to defeat your aggressive fast forechecks and they plant a guy on their 1/2 boards and immediatly shovel pucks to him before your first man in can reach them [or they bait him in] and work their exits off of this 1/2 wall static man.....this 1/2 wall support they like to set up uses give and goes or touch/tip passes to supports streaking out of their zone.They will try to sneak a speedy forward back late and keep him in the weeds as a 3rd support and have him pick it up from the 1/2 wall in full flight exiting the zone.

I suggest considering keeping the nice forecheck pressure which pins them and hurrys them and makes the first move......just beware of them ringing the boards and tip-passing it to a speedy guy.Keep your 2nd forechecker in covering the passing lane to the 1/2 wall and your 3rd man in the n-zone tight to the wall waiting for their pressure relief ringer when you have cut off their 1/2 wall set up they will bail and just ring it along the wall to safely clear.If you catch them right this 3rd support in the n-zone hovering on the wall will be able to dust it off and wait for that 2nd man who was covering the 1/2 wall to open up for a short 15 foot pass then he can use an in stride quick-release shot looking high bar-down or Elbow-Bone on Talbot....no overpassing in the o-zone on n-zone recoverys and o-zone takeways .

It is important to cash in on forced turnovers in the n-zone and in the Oilers zone....so make sure everyone keeps driving towards the net every playaction in support full speed because when you aggressively shoot first off of turnovers like you need to do those rebounds come out quickly and supports have to be incoming fast and hard sticks in shooting position with a shootfirst mentality......wasting time setting up against a collapse defense is what they want....sooooo.....you speed everything up...keep everything funneling to the net from every angle.....keep a shootfirst mentality with everyone onboard understanding why they have to SUPPORT THE PUCK AND SHOOTER AND DRIVE SO VERY HARD INTO SHOOTING POSITIONS CLOSING ON NET WHEN THEY DO NOT HAVE PUCKS.....they have to charge the net AS IF THEY ARE DESIGNATED SHOOTERS AND FIGHT TO EARN THE LANE AND POSITION EVERY POSSESION.

Sharks I know this sounds odd...but look out for them to toss up high slow lob passes up into the lights for McDavid to chase down....they wilt try to force your d-men to track the puck up high and this will stutterstep them all giving Conner McDavid an edge he doesnt need to be gifted....so remind your d-men if they see this play to look down and aquire McDavid and let the puck fall where it may.....just saying because TMac is going to be desperate now.

Sharks....we did say sticks down right?.....pass it down the line again and every 5 minutes from here on in ....jeepers.....kill this and move on man.

Kassian was headhunting there ...the Refs shouldnt let it go now because things will get ugly...better nial the Oilers with a roughing call they have been hitting high all game and Larsson has been crosschecking guys on their knees.

If the Officials let those types of headshots with elbows go.....this series will be ruined....that was not acceptable that was not a consequence of COMPETE by Kassian it was a cheap dangerous headshot...and the Officials first screwed it up by not calling it then srewed it up again by not making a different call for effect to slow down the Oiler bully tactics....they just dropped the ball and let control of the game go....screwing up natural momentum by letting the Oiler go over the line and brush the Sharks back mentally....REALLY POORLY DONE BY THE OFFICIALS.

Sharks....you better line up some of those smaller Oilers 3 feet before your blueline and stand them up hard.....they are getting easy entries only because you are not hitting...you do have them doing what you need....just physiclly deny them the blueline and easy zone entry.....make earlyier contact at or above your own blueline ....especially on their smaller guys......and someone give Nurse a reason to fight....he is important to their depth and its good to suck him into penalties and get him off the ice...hopefully a forward can bait him.

Sharks remember to read the posts to the CBJ on how to beat their triangulating delay collapse defense because this is what the Oilers are doing now.Just go back a few posts o this thread......note how you need to keep one guy on the wall on the inside and one on the outside....do not let them get both your men pinned facing to the boards....they will give you first position to get behind you and pin you to the wall waiting for their 3rd man who will stay static and gapped 15 feet off the wall waiting to pick up pucks squirting out so he can blast off on a quick exit.Do what I told the CBJ to do with the Pens who do this to.Talk to each other and call it out...one guy digging from the inside facing the wall and one ALWAYS with outside position.......cutting off the loose pucks from getting to the static 3rd man.

TMac.....lol....you are having trouble controlling your benches adrenaline and discipline and Conner doesnt know how to calm them down....your VETS are not in control....they are overcompensating...they are aggressive in a non-compete way and it shows....this is a discipline issue.

Sharks....KISS....go to a dump and chase game like last time.....have your d-men sprint it out and dump-it-in.....keep it basic....but push them back and get on your forechecking horse fellas and pin them down there once you dump it in.Make sure you come into your forechecking line in a passing lane.....make it hard for them to make those quick first passes and when they do make them get on them......you can see them trying to use the boards to ring long exit passes out....be ready...and begin to skate pucks in to the crease and deke Talbot....drive it all the way in and make th Oilers d-men drag you down....bring the game into the middle of the Oilers zone now.

On this PP....KEEP IT SIMPLE.....gain the zone make 1-2 passes max then look to drive it to the net and deke then chop at rebounds.

How many times will I have to see 6 Oilers on the ice involved in the play before they take a to many men on the ice penalty..... they are trying to short-shift and are really loose on their changes....come on Refs lets just keep it simple but keep the Coaches honest.

Sharks this game is nice and tight....just KISS and work basic give-and-goes that finish in Talbots wheelhouse with DEKES...bring your supports in slowly dont all slam the net because those G&G rebounds will be coming out to them.....KISS....be patient....let the Oilers blow their adrenaline like they are doing......and focus on the communication loud and proud and go to the proven basics....the short pass E/W focused give-and-go finished with a DEKE ON NET.

Remember Sharks the fastest thing on the ice is your voice....so make sure you talk it up....use your savvy and Vet experience and keep each other in the moment...this includes everyone on the bench who should be watching the play on the ice trying to identify danger early.

I might consider adjusting the forecheck and spread 3-4 guys wide E/W and remain inside the n-zone pinching the walls and covering the middle....look to force the battle zone back into the Oilers zone ASAP......let them try to skate it out or use the late upspeed support and backpass...simply snuff them in the n-zone....force them to dump and chase now....dont let them have possesion thru the n-zone without paying a price.Line em up in the N-zone and wait for a mistake where you can jump right in to their zone and work in pairs using the give-and-go......just food for thought.......you dont have to change a thing.....this game is a saw off.....just pound shots in off of those dekes coming out of the give-and-goes.

Congratulations to the NHL Officials who recovered nicely after screwing up the Kassian headshot which allowed him to score a critical goal.....cant turn back time but the Sharks had their proper share of chances......kudos to the Officials that was a tough one to call.

Sharks Coaches......I cannot comment on the Kassian shorty because IMHO that one is on the Refs but for the record I am mad as hades right now....you were tasked with targetting McDavid with a teamwide hitting on every possesion mandate...and you did not come through....something broke down.I tell you to dump it in late on the PP because I can see you are giving the game away...you fail to comply...and BANG....the 2nd shorty is scored.Now I have vented and am moving on.By the way...very very nice job of Coaching tonight....you did everything you will need to do in San Jose.....so dont overthink it....simply call it a Squirrel Egg and move on.

Its the morning after......all is well......the GAMEPLAN worked very very well.....the PP failed miserably which can happen from time to time.......game 1 went as planned game 2 went as planned.........the PP letdown was an anomoly.

TMac is under extreme pressure right now....he does not know how to create seperation between his team and yours....he cannot get on top of momentum or on top of the games.....he is hanging on and throwing blind bombs....last night he was going down and got lucky on a punchers chance......the Refs should have trimmed Kassians grass and pushed him back but they let the Oiler with the worst reputation lay a devestating headshot and walk on it setting the entire tone of the game......the makeup calls were not enough and ended up burning the Sharks anyways.....I drop this one in the Refs lap.

Skarks ...do not change anything.....nothing.....just stay the course and tighten up on Special teams...KISS....I would dsay you are driving the bus in this series.

The guard came down on the PP and it came down on hitting Conner teamwide......you let it come down no one ripped it down....no one broke anything down....you simply stumbled and had a misstep......this is hugely different than being dominated or even beaten competatively.....this was a fluke and it will do more damage to the Oilers than the win will do good.....they have nothing to carry forward except a four-leaf clover....you have the confidence you are still in the drivers seat in this series.They have not built anything to work off of....just a nsty dirty game the Refs llowed them to play and we all saw a fine example of how a critical non-call on a BLATANT HEADSHOT can change a game and a series.....since when did the Officils get to decide the tone of a Playoff game???......who gave them permission to allow the Oilers to brutalise one of last season Cup Finalists with their bully lineup and how are the Refs going to correct their overstepping of their duties????....The Refs let the Oilers ram the livin crap out of the Sharks with no obvious concern for officiating stepping in....almost like the Oilers had an internal memo from Katz saying the fix was in no one would make calls on them for anything.

Sharks look into focusing on a delayed give-and-go in the o-zone coming out of a WIDE STANCE E/W BLUELINE ATACK AND ZONE ENTRY which spreads the collapse defense OUT WIDE increasing their gaps and giving you back the crossice passing options it trys to remove with bodies and blocks.........one with a dust-off which gives the collapse defense enough time to begin to transition....a quick execution allows the collapse defense to flow and work together smoothly...a pause or stutter-step or dust-off breaks the collapse days continuity.Just saying this would be my STARTING POINT....KISS.......you dont have to make any big changes IMHO.....but it is nice to have options to try out during the games...when you watch the tapes of game 2 you will see the Oilers were headmanning passes consistantly trying to get you into footraces....soooo....target and note where their first passes were released from and where they were intended to go to...they made basic adjustments which you did control for most of the game....so you do have them roped in still....just cut off those passes and you have nailed down 2 of the Oiler 3 System options in terms of d-zone breakouts.....they were letting you get to pucks first on the walls and outside and they were trying to play an inside game....focusing on the body all game....its some silly tactic they dreamed up they think they will grind you down.....lol....obviuosly they are deluded and this is good because just maybe they are to stupid to understand how fortunate they were Bettmans minions assisted them......and just maybe if we are lucky TMac rolls like this again for us.....lol....what a gift that would be...and I dont think he has another round in the creativity chamber.....lol...I believe TMac is still stumped techniclly....IMHO the Oilers should be down 2-0 right now.....excluding some true-blue lucky stars shortys...lol...2 in one Playoff game...which AINT HAPPENING AGAIN ANYTIME SOON ...lol....this is a 2-0 Sharks series lead.
