The Bible Isn't Stupid, We Are

Not religious or sure I believe in god, but the bible has helped alot of people. Its messages and "power" has encouraged a lot of people to give up addictions, to turn their life around. On the other hand it can promote complete intolerance i.e Westboro Baptist Nutters.

Wether it was written by divinely inspired hands i don't know. I see no real evidence of that. Infact a lot of the testiments about jesus I dont think are divinely inspired but perhaps jesus himself was.

Everything you speak of OP, is great. These are good things you are saying. However, the fact remains that the bible is a man-made book. Every word in the bible was written by people. These are merely good lesson stories, if anything at all. You can certainly let it guide your life, but understand that if you let it be in control of your life, you are putting yourself under the control of man.

Of course it was written 'by men', but that is where your belief in God ends. The Bible wasn't written for people with this viewpoint - it was written for those He calls, and of those, the minority will fulfill it's purpose - the raising of Sons for the next Kingdom. It's a starting point and a winnowing fork - many will start reading and hit a 'contradiction' and throw the book away. Very few will seek Him for the understanding and resolution of that 'contradiction' despite repeated scripture demonstrating that very behaviour. Non-believers see the words "adultery and fornication' and think that the Bible is full of sex (like a post above), and sadly, this person disparages what they don't understand and in exchange, believes what the world tells them. THIS is the control of man, not God. This is why there are thousands of denominations because people segregate themselves by what man tells them is in the book. The sons and daughters that He has been raising during this Earth Age aren't in any 'denomination' except personally and privately with Him. They are the few individuals that all of us encounter at one time or another in our lifetimes - the salt of the earth - so filled with love and joy that they almost glow. These aren't the everyday majority sitting in church - these are individuals who walk with God. They started their journey with scripture and it led them to find Him whilst Jesus through the Spirit revealed Him to them.

This is the idea of the Bible that I would love you to see and feel and know about. It is only able to control men who relinquish themselves to what other men TELL them is contained within its pages. But to those who He pulls out of the world, it is freedom.

I can answer this question. Why are we stupid? Why is there closed and sealed information in the bible? To start with.

Matthew 13.
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Only a select few are privileged to know the secrets of heaven. Why? After years of work I managed to put the pieces together. And had quite an experience along the way. Apparently he takes verse 15 very seriously if you can crack his secrets.

So let me give you the big one. Why the secrecy? Why the Parables? The problem put simply is here.

Malachi 4.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

So why did Jesus Christ suddenly turn on the Jews and start with the parables and the secrecy in Matthew 13? It's explained in Matthew 17.

10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.


John the Baptist wasn't supposed to die when he did. Herod in beheading John the Baptist has triggered the curse mentioned in Malachi 4. And I found the details of the curse in the book of Hosea. And in working it out I managed to determine the length of the curse. 2000 years. Hosea 6-2.

And that is Jesus Christ's biggest secret. The world is under a major curse. And as he says in Matthew 13 the world is not supposed to know about it until it's over.

If what you say is true...(God will teach you to read the bible as you read it).... Why didn't God teach us to read the bible in the original language.?

I'm not one for the bible or any religion.... I like science, but sadly because of TPTB science could kill us all.

I still havent worked out where the wife of Cain came from. God never made her, so who did? Also why is it that god has to get people to write this book and its all in codes? WHY?? Surely if god wanted every one to read it and follow its rules/ teachings. Then it should have been written in a simple way, so that every one knew what he meant. After all not many people could read at that point. So why put it in some code, that only certain people could read it? Why didnt god just create us all with reading skills, so that we could follow it. There are so many contradictions in it that it just dosnt make sense. Rich will not get to heaven, but he gave certain people god given rights to rule over us? Royals and kings ect ect
And as some one has already said, the church is the richest organised gang on the planet. if they emptied the gold and riches from the church and gave it to the poor. Then every one would be a lot better off.
The god of the jews says that anyone who is not jewish is a sub human. Put there to serve the jews. The god of the muslims says that any one who is not a muslim is a kufir. ie- lower than the chit you scrape off your foot?(So a muslim friend explained to me) And the god of the christians says to just turn the other cheek. Its a very sad thing for this god to split people up and set them against each other. It seems like he dosnt want us all to live in peace and harmony. He just wants us all to fight and kill each other.

God is love. Scripture is very clear that there is only ONE provided to mankind for salvation - not love, but God Himself who is love.

You call on God Himself for salvation. The Father and I are One. Jesus is the Way and Truth and Life. God is love. "Greater LOVE has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

And God, in the physical person of Christ, did just that. Love doesn't save, but rather God saves through and by His love. We can't see that the world's definition of love is not God's definition of love. The world's definition of love teaches us today that love is expressed in tolerance - God's love says that this tolerance leads to the destruction of humanity. Why? Because the knowledge of good and evil is present. Tolerance allows what is evil in God's eyes to rise and therefore the world's definition of love as tolerance actually destroys. Being tolerant of abortion kills. Being tolerant of drugs destroys lives. Being tolerant of porn destroys families. Being tolerant of living together before marriage cheapens the union. Being tolerant of crime leads to prisons filled to capacity. His love is not the world's definition of love. The "love" that is rising within western societies is created by evil and is therefore false. It uses words such as racist and bigot and discrimation to force change from God's absolute moral laws which are summarised as "love thy neighbour" which doesn't steal, kill or destroy, into this false ideal of love which says "anything is fine". And sadly, the world's definition of love pushed in the western societies is removing God's light of Truth from the planet. God gave a choice between good and life, and evil and death. When He reminded Cain that he could choose between the two, Cain chose immediately by killing his brother. God gave Him the choice too - and he chose unwisely.

Um ... no. I don't know how you got that ..

Actually, I don't think there is much of the Old Testament that is of value or 'credible' at all.
It's claimed that the Psalms were written by David. But in fact older versions of the Psalms
can be found carved into ancient walls of Egypt .. written by Akenaten to his pagan sun god.
Two versions of creation mythology which contradict each other. The Summerian epic
Gilgamesh rewritten as the Noahs Ark fable. Eat shellfish and go to hell. Onanism.
Moses telling people 'do not kill, do not commit adultry' but then telling his followers to go
kill every man, woman, and child 'enemy' except the virginal girls that they can keep to
amuse themselves with. etc etc

The New Testament, however, has more to offer. What can be gleened from Jesus words
is of great value. But like the book itself says .. there is a whole lot more truth out there so
we should not keep our minds closed to that fact. Keep searching ...

To the OP: You are so right.

The funny thing about the Bible is that the truth is all in there....

In a nutshell, Jehovah is Satan, and it is possible, in fact inevitable, to become God.

THANK YOU!!! Just because the most vocal, noticeable "christians" are very wrong and sinful does not discredit the way of life itself! It gives it more credit because its been infiltrated and attacked and twisted around so much by those who knew of its potential were it to be properly understood and followed by the masses! The Old Testament is based on the ancient Assyrian and Sumerian texts that predate the bible. The Enuma Elish (Creation Epic) and Atra Hasis.

While there are vague similarities between the creation account and the flood account in the book of Genesis and these works, Genesis is NOT simply a re-hash of these earlier accounts.

In all the Akkadian accounts, the heroes perform superhuman feats and do things that defy logic and physics. In the Bible the heroes are very human and fallible, the only one doing superhuman feats or defying physics is God.

The book of Genesis and the rest of the Bible have far more content than the creation account and the flood account.

There's nothing scary about becoming God. You are speaking from your own Bible-induced place of fear.

Have you ever heard a serpent speak or ever heard of anyone who has, other than "Eve"?

One would think that "God" could do better than a bronze-age dusty book that's been tampered with by everyone and their grandmother.

Wha? Moses, Jesus didn't perform 'miracles' and superhuman feats? There weren't prophets/kings/giants who lived for 800-900 hundred years? You either believe in the bible accounts or you don't. You can't cherry pick in what to believe. It discredits you.
