Indeed... He does make sense, and that is what always scares me the most. His ACTIONS betray the level of duplicity in everything he says. If he FOLLOWED even a part of what he promised before being elected, we'd be in a considerably different and better nation almost 4 years later.

Instead.... He's only stuck to the worst of what he promised and even Iraq ended on a timeline Bush signed into a formal agreement, not Barry.

I'd remind everyone that Hitler was elected and rode the wave of public love to power....at first. Stalin didn't murder 10's of millions of Russian civilians in his purges all by himself. He had millions who thought he had some pretty good ideas...even while the bloodbath was going on. Every madman had a % that adore them and just see nothing they do as being half as bad as it is.

You know, I really didn't feel the people who were drawing those comparisons three years ago were being fair either. That was then and this is now...Oh how much has changed in the time since.

We've seen the Patriot Act not only extended but radically expanded in spirit and letter. Things like the NDAA provisions on detention come to mind as do his own words not that long ago in telling anti-gun types to be patient..he just hadn't gotten to it yet. Gun Walker, Gun Runner and the deliberate assassination of American born citizens overseas with all kinds of logic offered for why it can be done even more widely in the future.

What could I possibly have to worry about? I don't mention Hitler's name for the Nazi ideology. That has NOTHING to do with it and they'd both be rolling in their graves to hear Stalin's name in the same breath if that were the point being made.

I was talking about the mix of Charisma, sheer force of will and total disregard for the rule of law where their OWN actions and authority are concerned. Those two are just a couple of the most high profile examples of where the road can lead. I don't even mind a Democrat mavericking out of nowhere to throw the Boss an unexpected challenge. I'd vote for someone like Hillary tomorrow over Obama. No question.

The constitution was designed to protect us from govt and to protect the states rights from mob rule. Obama is forcing americans to buy certain products. He took money from the poor and gave to fortune 500 companies. Taking away rights weve had since the birth of the constitution isnt being a good guy. The right is just as bad. The left strips our rights and the right imposes their values legally. All are scum. The reality is if you supporr the obama crowd or the conservatives you piss on what our founders intended. You dont support america as it exists and you want to turn it into a cross between a dictatorship and a socialist state. To all the people that support the two parties why dont you guys pack up and move rather than funk up america.

Am i my brothers keeper? The correct answer is, if i choose to be. In america the intent was to give us the choice of being our brothers keeper instead of it making it illegal to not be. You dont force americans to prop others up when they need a hand. Most of us do it by choice. Removing said choice is why most of us are upset.

If money ever vanishes and our society turns into anything resembling a utopia... Those who squeezed the life out of people for a few bucks are going to have ALOT to learn for their greed. Those who extinguish a potentially eternal life over something so frivilous will have what runneth over my cup. Any life that ends without denying what i have to offer will be a great shame.

My pleasure, just on a unusual note, i was visiting my 95 year old Uncle whom i had not seen in 40 years, and he said i am so glad you came by as i have something to tell you that they have been hiding from you your entire life, you are Black,after discussing this with my Brother he suggested I go back and get more information unfortunately my Uncle died in the next 2 weeks, I feel he just stayed alive till he got it off his chest. as it turned out I was one of what they call the Hidden ones, children who are black who look white,

It is absolutely for the sake of clarification which comes with a very strong and precise point, not the pointlessness you claim. Words are reflections of thoughts and thoughts are things. Run around screaming desperate times require desperate measures and it is only a matter of time before you look like Chicken Little. Conversely, understanding and using the language of desperate times require measured responses and you then become the owl who calms the rest by pointing out that an acorn falling from a tree is not the sky falling.

I know it's hard to sometimes accept at face value...but I'm really not an ideologue. I can lean so far right on one thing that I walk sideways down the street. Law and Order issues come to mind and in spades. In the next thread, you'll find me supporting access to abortion in a wide variety of circumstances. You chose a bad example because I'm NOT a Republican. I'm a conservative independent, and as much as some want to suggest it's a distinction without a difference, that is definitely not the case.

Reagan was as bad as Obama in some ways, no question. Particularly in his second term. You forgot to mention the nasty, UGLY business that happened under Director Casey in Angola during that period as well, but I agree with you....on foreign policy not directly in the light of public view, Reagan made Nixon look like a real ethical guy. Now on Russia and domestic economic policy, Reagan was one of the best Presidents our nation has had. Clinton came to office still riding the high wave of fundamentals Bush couldn't ruin that fast and Reagan spent 8 years having his people build.

Obama....Well...what is it again he's doing right? Er... nvm.... I just thought it matters to note even Reagan had his good AND yes..very much..he had his bad. I'm always open to the fact neither side is EVER as correct as they'd like to believe.....myself included.

Give more money to schools I think the money should go to the school not the teachers, we shouldn't have to persuade people to teach better from money. I like the sentiment, I really do, and I understand that social safety nets are the difference between the U.S. and most of Africa. However, the unfortunate truth is that the government just cannot keep its hands off my freedoms while it's doing so.

Things have started to go too far, and safety just isn't worth the amount of freedom that these people take in return.
