Obama Calls for More Redistribution of Wealth, Declaring: ‘I Am My Brother’s Keeper’

I keep my brother in a little cage on the shelf. He doesn't like it much, but who knows what sort of trouble he would get into if he were free.

Could it be that Obama has a brother somewhere that we don't know about? And he's going to give money to this brother? Who is Obama's brother, and why does he deserve money from the USA? Does this mean Obama's brother is on welfare? Or does he have a contract job with the state, in an undisclosed location. A sort of holy grail, with the original birth certificate, draft card, and tomorrow's winning lottery numbers.

Not going to preach, but remember the context of that brother's keeper story. Cain murdered Abel, and when God came around asking what happened, Cain gave God attitude on top of murder, to evade the truth. Does this mean Obama is a murderer, and will tell God where he hid the body? Or does this mean it's another nanny state day?

President Obama is not paid or elected to keep his brother. He's paid to participate in keeping the USA together as it slams headfirst into the NWO wall and evaporates into little fluffly freedom bubbles.

Money money. One of these days the rest of the countries on the planet will bring in their smuggled-out US dollars back into the USA and explode the economy, so the numbers are not relevant to me. Redistribution is easy. Here, give me a dollar (pretends to take a dollar from nobody). That is redistribution. Nobody said it had to be redistributed evenly, equally, or fairly. It will be realigned according to a new value system. What that is, only Obama's brother knows, and he's not talking.

I agree to a point.

But the middle class has gone down because of job losses and real estate downturns.
(at no fault of the average citizen)

The tax rates take care of themselves usually when the general economy favors the middle class.
(job availability and good wages etc.)

A large percentage of today's food stamp and unemployment recipients actually prefer to work full time jobs
with benefits. The temporary assistance is not enough to pay the normal standard of living bills.

Too many people today have been knocked down to part time, and have lost benefits.

That's the big problem.

Now add in the house payments and we have a continuing problem.

This is why I would have $50,000 remain tax free for everyone, everyone has bills to pay, mortgage or
rent, food, healthcare, gas...

That money goes out into the economy without fail and pays for the necessities of life.

Obama made a campaign speech at the University of Vermont and used some Bible references
to somehow justify his well known "Redistribution of Wealth" agenda.

Most of the rhetoric was nothing new.

He mentioned his "double down" theory several times,
along with continuation of other failed policies.

I wonder if the "double down" will happen to the deficit ?

Obama has Increased the national debt by $4 trillion since 2009.
His plan for 2013-2016 may be to "double" the $4 trillion and make it an even $8 trillion more.
(God help us !)

The national debt is about the ONLY thing that seems to have been "equally" distributed !!

But looking out for one another. That’s a value. The idea that we’re all in this together. I am my brother’s keeper. I am my sister’s keeper. That’s a value.”

In Genesis, Adam and Eve’s first-born son is Cain and their second-born son is Abel. Cain becomes a farmer and Abel becomes a shepherd. When Cain offers the fruit of his farming to God and Abel offers a lamb, God is pleased with Abel’s offering but not Cain’s. Cain then kills Abel. When God asks Cain where Abel is, Cain says: “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

When Obama said on Friday, "I am my brother's keeper," he was addressing a crowd of campaign supporters at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt.

After promoting his past accomplishments including the bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, removing private banks from the government-guaranteed student loan business, and his health-care law, Obama pointed to policies he wants to pursue in the future.

I am an scientist and analyst and COMPLETELY agree with Obama!! The current system has failed! Greedy and wealthy conservatives in Washington were at the root of it! It's time capitalism gets a reality check because it can't continue this way forever. Greed is unnatural has destroyed the US and the world! Some have everything and others have absolutely nothing!! Animals only kill and hunt what they need. They don't go into excess!

Look people, the Soviet Union and China were never socialist. They were dictatorships.

Anything can call itself anything. The reality of something is different altogether.

It is possible to be a democratic socialist. Most democrats have been socialists. Even Tom Paine leaned in that direction.

What Obama said is electioneering anyway. He is a conservative Republican who does not even groove to Stevie Wonder for goodness sake (Michelle had to groove for him).

Instead its more about having a mixed market economy with good funding for social programs, improving capitalism to make it more stable, helping those in need like the poor and destitute. Yes this requires bigger redistribution of wealth. I'm all for it

It would never work. As soon as you start with the Robin Hood mentality with ANY version of socialism, you take away any incentive to be successful. There's no reward in it.

well see about that, for some reason I just know they are going to give him the elections... Obama is earth bound and his logic will lead to a type of Islamic society for us all with no advancement.

I don't live in America nor am I American, but at the time when Obama got elected I said there was something I didn't trust about him and I had an opinion that Americans would live to regret voting in Obama, mainly because he reminded me of Tony Blair in many ways. However, I admire the global elite to get someone like Obama to run for president, it was excellent move from their point of view.

If only he meant it... there needs to be a huge correction in distribution of wealth... it needs to be pried from the super rich's cold hands and rained down on all the welfare deadbeats and raggamuffin students and drug addicts and working poor and middle class schlubs with torches and pitchforks and blood.

Wher did I say in my post that education was a bad thing............ahhh nowhere. More money for education is not working they have been trying to fix it for years maybe take it out of the feds hands and put it back in the publics hands and that is a good start Live in reality................16 trillion dollars in debt thats reality. Stupid is as stupid does.

Unfortunately, Obama seems to be acting as if he truly is the only branch of government, and certainly does not seem to understand the checks and balances built into the 3 SEPARATE branches set up by our Founding Fathers. His comments concerning the Supreme Court and the Health Care case shows a complete lack of concern about how this country became a place where everyone abides by the laws. No one, including the president is ABOVE those laws.
This country does not need nor want a dictator, no matter how he guises this is concern for the poor.

well europe is far more socialist than america they get by ok. A few things that are good about social democracy's

universal health care
better rights for women e.g paid maternity leave up to 1 year
better working conditions for workers e.g truck drivers
less corporate influence on policy making by govt. e.g GM foods/crops, health care
corporations are regulated more protecting citizens better

Indeed... He does make sense, and that is what always scares me the most. His ACTIONS betray the level of duplicity in everything he says. If he FOLLOWED even a part of what he promised before being elected, we'd be in a considerably different and better nation almost 4 years later.

Instead.... He's only stuck to the worst of what he promised and even Iraq ended on a timeline Bush signed into a formal agreement, not Barry.

I'd remind everyone that Hitler was elected and rode the wave of public love to power....at first. Stalin didn't murder 10's of millions of Russian civilians in his purges all by himself.
