Ooohh.. dramatic metaphor, "spit".. in the face!!.. relax Rambo..

I wouldn't take the time out of my day to go physically "spit" on anyone.. I have better things to do.

People are allowed to gather in private ceremonies swing dead chickens over their head, pull wings off flys or watch dead folks buried while other people fold stuff.. I get the emotional mind boink, been there done that..but I'm over all that now.. just pomp & circumstance.

The flag lost all meaning for me a long time ago.. during my employ in the military

I'm sorry;somehow I find it hard to believe you "served" after those comments.

True The Flag represents the country's current "wayward" policies and resultant Kia's;
And also:
all the way back through Vietnam;Korea; Bastogne; the Ardenne;the rough riders; Gettyburg; all servicemen(/women) all the way back to Lexington and concord. It honors all who followed and died (under that flag)for an idea that is this country. Your dismissive attitude is juvenile and offensive.

It is not pettiness. We know these people are Marxist and got into the Wh via connections with Bill Ayers and various communist sympathizers and Soros funding, and they have consistently shown a contempt for America and all that she has always stood for, and they are on the bandwagon of dissing our flag(BO refused to wear the flag during his campaign which always appeals to far left anarchists) and apologizing for our actions and disrespect for the military and those who died for the cause of freedom. Did Michelle give up her PIE For that flag????? NO she did not, in fact she expects the State to pay for her Harvard education.
So no, those two should be out sooner rather than later but we can't impeach BO with a majority Democrat Senate.

From what I can see, the BP Oil disaster was just payoff to them courtesy of Soros and the Rothschilds in exchange for their role in destroying America. They will have 85 million out of that deal, and their investment company sold BP stock just before the disaster.
It's so strikingly similar to the airline sell off before 9-11.
The only difference is fewer people died. But wait, people are getting sick in the Gulf from it, and fish and wildlife too, had to pay the price for them.

Of course! She is definitely Marxist! This without a doubt proves it! The evidence is so damning!

Do I need to go get her little speech about giving up our pie so others can have more? That's straight out of the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx. Ok what do I have to do to get through to people?

Here's the quote, as I know you wont look for it, and oh that was during the campaign still, and she already knew what the main course was...it was Universal Health Care

"They don't want the whole pie," she told the women. "There are some who do, but most Americans feel blessed just being able to thrive a little bit. But that is becoming even more out of reach. If we don't wake up as a nation with a new kind of leadership, for how we want this country to work, then we won't get universal health care. The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."

A list of Marxist demands taken from the Communist manifesto, courtesy of wikipedia

It goes on to defend communism from various objections, such as the claim that communists advocate "free love", and the claim that people will not perform labor in a communist society because they have no incentive to work. The section ends by outlining a set of short-term demands:

1.Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2.A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3.Abolition of all right of inheritance.
4.Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5.Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6.Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7.Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8.Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9.Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country.
10.Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.[13]
The implementation of these policies would, the authors believed, be a precursor to the stateless and classless society. In a controversial passage they suggested that the "proletariat" might in competition with the bourgeoisie be compelled to organise as a class, form a revolution, make itself a ruling class, sweep away the old conditions of production, and in that step have abolished its own supremacy as a class. This account of the transition from socialism to communism was criticised particularly during and after the Soviet era. Anarchists, liberals, and conservatives have all asked how an organization such as the revolutionary state could ever (as Engels put it elsewhere) "wither away."

I'm actually kinda surprised that The Washington Times put out an article on this:

Just for a flag? Even with all her years being around those who hold high public office Mrs. Obama does not seem to understand the purpose and importance of ceremonies. They reaffirm the bonds of loyalty and fellowship that cement our national unity. Yes, at one level a flag is just a colorful piece of cloth. But it symbolizes much more. It is the emblem of our land and all its ideals. It has been present at every major event of any importance to the country, battles, celebrations, meetings, and the lunar landings. I

There is a LOT of things to Genuinely get angry with the first lady and the POTUS, this takes just too much imagination to really call it.

If someone tells you that someone said something, when you see their lips move, you are going to TRY to get that same result.

Mouth the words "Olive Juice", and ask someone across the room what you said.

I agree that of all the things to be genuinely angry with her for the questionable translation shouldn't be high on the list. I've agreed with plenty you've said HauntWok, and starred your posts accordingly.

Nobody here is foaming at he mouth except the rabid You're-a-racist crowd. Normal.

I like to listen to EVPs and the power of suggestion is definitely strong when you want t believe something.

But with EVPs there is no contemptuous body language to see.

That Washington Post blog is a much harder piece than this thread. Here the scene is up for discussion. That writer seems to have made up his mind. Do they have experts there to help him deduce that?

Not that it matters. She was disrespectful, during this part of the ceremony at least, regardless of what she said...

PS- Olive Juice is an interesting little experiment. Visually, " I love you" perhaps...Phonetically, "I love Jews"?

And the problem is?

Universal health care is a good thing, helping people who have less is a good thing.

To be honest i don't really see the point in having a complete ceremony for raising and lowering a flag either, but then again, i'm not American, and i sure as hell ain't the first lady saying it infront of tonns of camera's (if it is what she said)

Some respect for the country your husband is serving (or is it the other way around, sorry if im confused sometimes) might be in place.

Not under the threat of violence it isn't.Using the full firepower (figuratively and literally)
of the federal govt to force something is hardly noble charity.

You know nothing about my life or my journey, and I bet you would be most shocked at the revelation of it. But I do not have to support Marxist redistribution of wealth to love humanity.
I can also tell you that you will not get very far judging me with a linear understanding of life, and using the old guilt trip standby.

Because Standing"retreat"is a time honored tradition on every military base at the end of EVERY "duty day". taps is played as the flag is lowered by the color guard and the flag "secured"by the detail

.At the first sound of the music; All activity stops; moving cars stop; people in the open come to attention and face the direction of the flag (if visible) or music (if not) and you silently reflect upon those who came before you to pass those freedoms onto you and your family.

If downed aviators can be tortured during multiple years in pow camps you can come to attention for 3 or 4 minutes out of respect.

Haha neither did i, i guess the, POTUS, and FLOTUS have some matters to discuss in AF1 on their way home to Washington D.C. about how she scolded the flag of the USA (your country is MADE of abbreviations or what?

I tried "reading her lips" unbiased and i didnt really notice it either.

Seems like people are "hearing" what they want to hear.

Dno, and to be honest i dont really care, like all of the USA going mental as soon as a nipple is shown on public tv, they freak out over nothing.

Though if she did say this it says alot of her opinion about the USA.
