Exactly why we need a new industrial revolution or a new frontier to explore. At this rate there is nothing new to exploit. no other avenues to expand. we are propping up a dying system and our so called technological advamcements only serve the entertainment and communications industry. as we expand the resources required for such technology become scarce, as does our resources we consume for every day use. humans are designed for and are capable of doing so much work. the.society we live in constantly requires less work. its been theorized that if we dont start exploring space in the next few generations we are royally screwed as resources dwindle. the reson why our economies are so.screwed up are because of these lack of resources. a global economy or govt is doomed to fail because of this. if we had a steady supply of resources from space and tons of corporate interests there however it would work because of the massive trading that would occur.

Please pardon me for dismissing this as a bit extreme. Not that it's wrong per se, but it doesn't have a fine enough point on it. Allow me to sharpen this weapon a bit.

Selective welfare is wrong. Yes. But if every US citizen got per diem, then it wouldn't be an issue.

Selective taxation is wrong. Yes. But if every US “person” paid 3% it would be even.

Face it. You are still a sucker and controlled for the most part whether you work and pay taxes or not.
You do this because you are disenfranchised with our society, correct?
So why not seek long-term solutions instead of 'getting yours' by living off the taxes of others, being poor and potentially in trouble with the law.

I hate the rat race as much as you, believe me. But if you want to make a difference you need to stand up, not hide.

Very true. The situation I find myself in right now. I love my job, its important for society (telecom) but pays very little. It used to be a high paying industry that focused on quality but now is a low paying industry that focuses on the enslavement of the workforce. The company only uses negative reinforcement to drive results. You never get a pat on the back for working hard and meeting your efficiency quotas but dip below these quotas due to a bad week and the company is on your ass. They will check cell records and van gps data and use this against you for reprimands.
What kills me is that the idiots who work for us and don't give a crap aren't treated any different than the employees that excel at the job. The union always protects the knuckledragger idiots but does nothing to improve conditions. The company spends more money monitoring the workforce than it does trying to improve services. All in the name of efficiency and profit.

I can't find another job and im stuck where I am but let me tell you I don't just want to quit working just like that. Yeah it sucks but it could be worse. You will always make more money working than on welfare.

To someone already unemployed however I can see why an unrewarding job wouldn't be worth it or worth looking. Especially if one has education.

Oh and also the education system has let us down. They told us we needed it, bought it and then ended up paying for courses that were worth diddly squat. Even though they praised and pushed these courses saying that you will make tons of money.
There should be a watchdog in place for post secondary institutions.

Great post, I agree with everything you've said here and want to emphasize this line one more time for everyone

more divide and conquer bs, working man wails on poor guy who may or may not even be claiming benefits, infact the moment a job is not there for the poor guy the guy with a cushy job and stable position feels no more joy than bashing said poor guy, regardless of their situation.

divide and conquer. don't be retarded, get over the concept of money being more important than people.

the sad sad state of this country has been engineered to keep us down when men did the work we made things and the mothers made citizens
when women entered the workforce you double the workforce so wages dropped compared to cost of living
finally it was to the point both parents almost had to work just to get by and the children put in others care
cost of such care increased faster than wages and we make nothing but war equipment
the auto industry destroyed the housing industry destroyed the oil industry destroyed
now you have 50 some thing people on unemployment who can not compete for 8 dollar an hour part time jobs
i have lost my home my family my livelihood in the last 5-10 years and there is nowhere to go 30 yrs exp means nadda when they flood the workforce with immunity for millions of illegals every 10 years or so
i have been looking for a real job for almost a year after being replaced by a 20yr old w no exp for half my wage
and when he did not work out 5 more ready to take his place
WE NEED JOBS we do not want handouts
how about just give me what i paid to SS since 1968 when stated work and i will go to asia and live out my days

Frankly I don't care why folks use it. The problem is obviously folks like yourself who want to use it and steal from the productive because they don't want to work. That level of childish thought is no different than a 5 year old who does not want to brush their teeth.

Er you clearly did not read the ops post before running off we your prepackaged opinion he said he does not use it.
How about reading a post all the way through before reading your script that way you can taylor it to the post itself

Plus, I do run a small business as a farm...and I do sell "above the table and under the table"...firewood, pigs, goats, veggies, fruits, etc.... that makes me the extra money I need and want. My wife has done likewise... ...

I am afraid TPTB just closed that option. Take a good hard look at the new food law. (see my thread: www.abovetopsecret.com... )

Then think of the fines for lemonade stands, yard sales home made pies....

This is the last year I will seel any of my farm products. I suggest you consider doing the same. Feed your self and only those you know very very well.

I am utterly flabergasted at your post. No guilt, no conscience, just a lot of unsupported attitude about government and people with liberal poltical views (as if people with Conservative and Libertarian views were all open minded sweet hearts).

You drive on good roads, drink clean water, and stand a good chance NOT to be poisoned by the food you eat, you sleep comfortably and in relative safety all because of the Government. Taxes are not theft, fraud or any sort of improper claim on your property or wealth. They are your bill for civilization sir.

The reason half the people in the country don't pay income taxes is because most of the good jobs they used to work have been automated out of existence or shipped off to the slave labor countries like China by RICH OWNERs to make a few more dollars no matter the harm this does to our society.

Hey if you want a country with NO TAXES there's always Somalia and no one there seems to have a job. You just might fit right in.

Well enjoy your slacking.

You're advocating a move to communist society.

Communism was a false flag Socialism created by Capitalists who saw the popularity of actual Socialism racing across Europe and evilly, albeit brilliantly, put a stop to it.

The US is going the same way as the old Soviet Union and the result will be the same.

When the entities that create jobs, decide that profit is more important than the workers being able to make a living wage....

"You pretend to pay us, We pretend to work" and "we will steal everything we can, even if it is worthless to us" everyone loses, the companies because of their greed, the workers because of low pay, and the country because of lack of competitiveness and social unrest.

Want peace....work for justice!

What about the plumber or truck driver who has a tough job, gets up every day and goes out in what ever weather is there, works OT when he can to support his family

Well, let's see, what about that plumber and truck driver:

Maybe they aren't blind?
Maybe they aren't schizophrenic?
Maybe they don't have a broken back?
Maybe they didn't lose a leg in a war?
Maybe they don't have agoraphobia?
Maybe they don't have cancer?
Maybe they aren't on dialysis?
Maybe they aren't waiting on an organ transplant?
Maybe they aren't amputee's?

For a person to receive disability, there is a mountain of paper work which must be done, and it must be signed by physicians. To receive disability, one must be disabled.

If you know of someone who is NOT disabled, and is receiving disability, please report them to the Social Security Administration for FRAUD. I assure you the case will be investigated. If you don't KNOW anyone, then what is your beef?

If you know of someone receiving public assistance, or food stamps under fraudulent circumstances, REPORT THEM. District attorney's take these cases to court, and these people are prosecuted. Or AGAIN, if you do not KNOW for a fact about a specific individual, are you just repeating what you've HEARD?

So, do you know someone or are you just repeating "things you've heard"?

Also, are you saying the decision of whether someone is truly disabled should be made by you? And not by physicians and the SS Administration?

Wow, this thread is all over the place.
I have my opinions on this subject from personal experience....The Government makes it too easy to not work!

When I was in my early 20's. Wife, 2 kids and an entry level job in a lab, I got laid off. I was educated. I was looking for another science related job, but was willing to take anything to feed my family. A social worker approached my wife and told her what welfare would provide a family of 4. It was almost twice what I made as a serologist in a lab.

Fast forward to 2009. I've worked as a food scientist for 16 years. I have to relocate, for my wifes health reasons, and am on unemployment for a number of months. The unemployment people are wonderful! The are a Godsent in my time of need. They have programs for food. They have them for mortgage assistance. They even have them for power bills and credit card help. I opt to get by on unenployment insurance income alone without accepting all the other bells and whistles. One day I sat down and figured out all the "help" that was available to me. It was more than I ever made as a 15 year chemist in a fortune 500 company. WHY WORK??

I thank God I am once again gainfully employed in my field once again. I'm not making as much as I coild have if I would have stayed home and accepted all the benefits available to me but hey, A Guy's Got To Have Pride!

THE PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY THE GOVERNMENT REWARDING INACTIVITY!!

Different states pay different amounts, but I'm finding your story really, really, hard to swallow.
Do you mind telling me what state that was in, and how much the check was?

Also, you were working full time, but you were still making below the poverty level? Because you would have been Way below the poverty level for the public assistance check to be more.

Hm?

Yes, It was California in 1986. I was making $1100/mo as an entry level serologist for Zacky farms. A poultry producer in Fresno.

The social worker said we were eligible for $2190 in welfare and food assistance for a family of 4 with children under the age of 6. That included a section 8 housing benefit.

I can't give you proof. I can't send you to a web sight. All I can do is tell you what my experience was. If you choose not to believe it I don't care. If you ask around to people who have been there, you'll see that I'm telling the truth.

Absolutely garbage.

Completely tripe.

You obviously know nothing about welfare and nothing about being poor. That's what happens when you get your information about the poor from the insanely rich people spouting their propaganda on TV.

Spent some time perusing around the web looking for some figures, for my own curiosity.
Typically, a family of four receives around 500.00 to 900.00, and usually food stamps will be anywhere from 250.00 to 400.00, additionally. This of course, is public assistance, and not anything to do with SS.

Maine, Hawaii, Vermont, Massachusetts and California are among the states who pay out the most. Mississippi, Alabama are among those who pay the least. Of course, living expenses would be much less in those states, and many of them would have low cost housing in addition to the monthly payments.

Cali would have a high cost of living factor. Couldn't find any recent or old figures.

Interesting though. If one were looking for a state to move to for this purpose, it would be something you could search.

I also noticed there is a large "Report Fraud Here" on each page, for each of the states I looked at, so they make reporting this a very simple thing. They also have "Fraud Hotline" phone numbers available for each jurisdiction.

( Chev, you got lucky my friend.)

It is a simple thing to shop for states to fraudulently receive benefits, and I think we all have a responsibility to report any persons we might suspect who are guilty of this.

At the same time, most recipients are not receiving benefits fraudulently. They can't get away with it for a long period of time.

When you get into the "system" the benefits available don't stop at the welfare check. All of the sudden you have social workers that want to sign you up for any and everything that is out there. I know. I've been there. This last time I was unemployed I received mail, E-mail, phone calls and even people coming to my door to sign me up for one "benefit" or another. It's like they're on commision. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for a hand up, but it's become a left wing vote buying rackette IMO!!
