I gotta say, you sort of lost my attention when you posted the gates video a few pages back and hinted he was talking about putting some sort of sterile juice in vaccines...sad really. someone actually doing some good with his money and some of you toss stones when it should be thanking him for giving a damn.

Education and contraception is key to stop areas from being overpopulated. educated countrys have less population booms than dumbarse countries that have 23 kids per family in the hopes that one will not die and actually make it to support the parent in old age.

That is the key behind Gate's scary population control...its educate the people into what first off makes babies, then give the less is best philosophy while removing threats creating a instinct to overbreed.

Because Democrats and their lying, Illegal, "Criminal-In-Chief" hate American's.
This is why Pro-America's do not like this anti-American ,socialist ,Democratic 'cult' that is now destroying this nation.
Not that hard to understand, when you can understand the "TRUTH."Understanding The Truth"For Dummies."

Yeah ok the dems hate Americans. That's why they want keep social programs running so people won't starve in the streets. That's the best way to show how much you hate people.

The tea party is nothing more than the Koch brothers tool to control the ignorant in American society so that way they can get what they want out of the government. A warning to people going to a tea party meeting if everything on your sign is spelled right you'll get kicked out. They'll think your some kind of socialist spy.

The US is dedicated to the application of democratic methods of governing.

The rigid idea of republic rather than democracy is a straw man argument that depends on a lack of understanding the terms. A republic can be a dictatorship where they have no democratic principles ( majority rule) because it only is a term that implies a single entity not any governmental methogologies..

If the US wasn’t a democratic country we wouldn’t have elections that invest power in the majority decisions. Therefore your point and others here is only a semantic irrelevancy.

That could easily apply to both of them.

The obsession with American political parties is like watching NFL fans bloviate over their favorite football team.

Well actually my friend, Boehner and Reed did reach an agreement, but when Reed presented it to Obama, he flatly turned it down because it was restricted to 6 months. He wanted and unlimited authority to continue the debt ceiling until 2013. Who in his right mind would grant that power, knowing how much he likes to spend. That would also assure him that the issue would be a non issue come election time. By that time, the debt could have risen to $20,000,000,000,000. That would have made the cliff become an abyss, or more likely a black hole. Obama single-highhandedly derailed the negotiations. The responsibility rests solely on his shoulders. His aim was to blackmail congress with the threat of invoking the 14th amendment. And the left would like to blame this on the Tea Party????

A democracy could also be dictatorship, "Tyranny of the Majority", its why we did not become a purely democratic nation.

As founded, the only democratic institution in the US was the House of Representatives. Every other part of the Federal government was founded as non democratic, including the US Senate, until the 17th amendment changed that. Even today the Electoral College does not have to follow the popular vote and Supreme Court justices are chosen by the POTUS for essentially life.

Seven years service, mostly Far East, under conditions you probably wouldn't believe. Hong Kong flu contracted during Combat Fox, 2-year fungus infection on my foot, malaria, lice...yep, made it all up.

I made a gun-rights T-shirt that explains that regulated meant "equipped".

I don't use credit, haven't been on food stamps, welfare, or medicare, ever.

I've owned businesses and worked digging ditches.

In some things I'm very conservative, like real family values, i.e., taking good care of your kin, never giving your word unless you mean to keep it, paying your own way, and midning your own business.

Conservatives of the Tea-Party and Republican types are the ones who passed laws saying where, when, and what I can smoke, where and what I can farm, who I can make love to where, ad nauseum...they've been in my business for as long as I can remember.

All you no-regulations/no government/no laws types:

How would you feel if Joe & Mary got horny at the mall and screwed in the fountain? And Hary and Larry got so turned on, they had to get busy, too?

All of a sudden we need rules and regs?

Hypocrites.

Abysmally ignorant hypocrites.

And there you go. If the government defaults, the economy might get messed up. It was NEVER intended to operate this way. The government shouldn't have that much power and it smacks of central planning.

So, what do you propose that those of us that don't want to see a debt ceiling increase? Just grin and bear it? Not have any representation?

Gotcha, but what most folks do not understand is that in a true democracy, the majority rules. There are no safe guards for those who disagree with the majority. Imagine if we lived in a society where the majority always had their way. Would minorities and women have been able to make the progress economically, socially, or professionally that they have been able to make over the last 60 years if we lived in a true democracy?

We still aint perfect, but its the best man has ever been able to put together.

I would suggest that the reasons you may not want to see the debt ceiling raised are not the actual reasons why members of the GOP calling themselves 'tea party' ( sleight of hand if ive ever seen it) are claiming to want to not raise it.

These are people who stand to profit off of global financial collapse. They could care less for the 'well being of america'.

The whole system began with republicans, Senator Aldrich and Rep Vreeland with the Aldrich-Vreeland Act, which created the National Monetary Commission, which lead directly to the Federal Reserve System. Both parties were fighting for a central banking system. The difference between the Republican plan and the Democratic plan, was Aldrich didn't try to hide the fact that the nation's financial system was going to be given over to the "Money Trust" aka the private banks of New York.

The Democratic plan made it look like the government still had some control, with a Fed Chairman and a Board of Governors.

I was a little baffled a week or so ago when the White House started to talk about not raising the debt ceiling in regards to the 14th amendment. I don't think anyone is saying we shouldn't pay our debts, but what a few in D.C. are doing is allowing for more debt to be piled up. Debt is not the same as spending. They just want to put on the brakes when it comes to the limit on the credit card. Nothing wrong with that. I have to do it in my personal life.
