sorry for the questions but we dont get tornadoes here. so it would be more safe for you to go under a bridge than to stay in your house?

With everything that occured, all the death and destruction, Joplin pulled together as a community. Over 1,500 volunteers showed up from 4 states and counting, from Law Enforcement, to Medical teams, search and rescue, Red cross and finally neighbor helping neighbor.

Proof of hope -

Medical teams treated anyone who showed up with injuries - Including one category of mans best friend.

The climate change is real, the main reasons behind it is very disputed. It seems the warning signs of the things to come are coming with shorter and shorter intervals now.

In my humble opinion mankind will experience more and more of these disasters and these tribulations come from higher dimensions where Gods reside. There is someone up there calling all the shots and he is not a human being. The old prophecies are becoming more and more real day after day.

Good people will make it in any case and virtue will be in rising demand.

What a horrible tragedy suffered by the citizens of the affected cities.

Even if you don't believe in a higher power, I am pretty convinced that there is something to prayer. When more and more people concentrate prayers on the same subject it may change the chaos factor a bit and open the door for positive things to happen that wouldn't normally occur.

I am urging all of my friends and family to keep our brothers and sisters, who are affected by this catastrophe, in their thoughts and prayers. I would also like to ask you all to do the same, if you haven't already - I know you really don't need me to remind you to think about the families involved in this violent and destructive storm.

I for one am definitely keeping these families in my thoughts.

Please don't flame me for asking this... I am curious if you remember anyone who talked about a theory of cosmic alignments causing devastating weather recently. I think I remember reading something to that effect when the giant rash of tornadoes broke out across the southeast a few weeks ago.

Do you know if there was a planetary alignment that could have had possible effects on the current weather system that caused this outbreak of tornadic weather?

It would be interesting to find information about a possible alignment. Then compare the alignment dates with the super-cell activity and possibly even tectonic activity that has caused recent earthquakes.

I hope nothing can be proven to cause these, especially a comet alignment - because the comet has yet to reach it's perigee, which could mean much worse displays of destruction by Momma Earth.

On the other hand, it would be outstanding to identify a factor that is contributing to the cause, or directly causing the recent gauntlet of bad weather and Earthquake/Volcanic activity... Maybe we could see it coming days, maybe even weeks or months in advance and warn everyone of the possibility that terrible weather may be coming our way.

God Bless those affected and those who weren't, alike. I hope they may return to normal life as soon as possible!

Good Morning from Joplin..........Thank you for all those prayers..........

There are so many missing here………..I know of 5 people missing who are relatives of my employees…….

It’s sunny this AM but I am reminded quickly as I look out my office window which is located downtown across from City Hall which is the command center for the disaster………..

I was at the Red Cross yesterday evening checking on a couple of my clients………It was a very emotional site to see………………

If you know seniors as I do………You will know they will not leave their pets alone…….Pets were kept in the basement………so many had cots alongside their pets where they would sleep…………

Although it’s a safe environment that provides food and clothing…………..it’s very sad to know that your loved one would be sleeping there……..

So we checked out our client who has no locally family and took her home with us……………….Her dog took a pee on the carpet first thing………….I guess that’s a thank you…..

What can I say? I have no words today. There are no words to express the unimaginable circumstances you are going through.

Even in the darkest hour your light is like a beacon. You are an incredible, generous and loving man. Some how you are able to rise above your own pain and help someone else. What a blessing and a gift you truly are.

I am so thankful Mike that I know you Even though I'm not there, I'm there.

Such a beautiful and warm story. I will talk to you soon,

Ali

Bless you Mike for your endurance through this tragic situation. As Pax said you are an inspiration for all of us.

Please keep us informed and know we are here for you. I understand about the pets, I would stay in the worst to keep them with me.

I remember when you came to visit holding my little doggie in your arms as if he was an extension of your strong arms.

Listen Mike even though you are in perfect physical form, be careful out there today and into the night as the weather is going to become so dangerous and the ground to sky lightning deadly.

We will be under the gun as well here in Polk county, we will be staying with my Grandparents in town to make sure they stay safe.

Really just wanted to thank you for the reports and the real news you have been sharing with us.

Hey, sorry if this has been mentioned already, but things aren't looking any better today for the affected area:

www.weather.com...

I'm watching the weather channel, and they said these "high risk" warnings are somewhat rare.

My Mom just called. The radio is reporting several good news stories today. The Director of the Medical Group that owns St. John's Hospital announced that they will rebuild the hospital. He said residents don't need to fear, Joplin will still have two hospitals.

The boy that CloudsintheSky mentioned earlier is alive. The boy that was with his father and pulled out of their Hummer after a Graduation ceremony. Apparently he was ripped through the moonroof and carried some distance, but he is alive and conscious and in a hospital.

Both Police officers survived their lightning strikes. Apparently one was burned, but able to keep working that day, and the other is still in critical condition, but expected to survive and recover. They were separate incidents by the way. It wasn't two officers from one strike, it was actually two strikes!

There is a 2 year old boy in a hospital, but he isn't able to identify himself, but he is safe and cared for. Hopefully they will get a description or pictures of him distributed later today.

Unfortunately the 9 year old girl from the WalMart is still missing. That is the one that my brother had tried to comfort her mother, but apparently she is still unaccounted for.

They still have a forecast for severe storms later this evening, but apparently it has been downgraded a little bit, and it was still sunny there at lunch time, so that is good news. They might get a full day of search and rescue in without being interrupted by storms.

They have also brought in cadaver dogs now to assist in the search.

Well, lessons learned, don't ignore the warnings and sirens! Don't trust just any type of shelter. Pack a whistle and laser or flashlight with you as you take cover, and say your prayers!

A Tor-con of 8 or 9 is basicallly an assurance of a tornado occuring somewhere nearby. Stay safe!!!
