I made a comment the other day about how we sitting here talking about it is exactly what they would want. The mighty bunch is depending on our ongoing argument based on opinion. While we sit here and shuffle our "opinions" they sit back and laugh. It's comin time we do something rather than talk about what we should or could do. If I am a sheep, I am a black one because I'm not buying a lick of what I see in the trails of media surrounding us. Viva la revolution!

I am sorry to say but a lot of what gets posted on ATS is pointless. If TPTB visit ATS it is most likely for entertainment purposes. Not unlike movie stars reading The National Enquirer to find out how much nebulous garbage is written about them... most likely to make them laugh.

Don't get me wrong. There are many good opinions, valid points, and reliable sources of information on this site. Sometimes you wonder if there is not some NSA or CIA employees who do nothing but create false identities for sites like ATS to spread disinformation and post a bunch of stupid crapola. It is amazing how many goofy topics saturate the site.

Unfortunately, a lot of lurkers, outsiders, trolls, and legitimate ATS members look at posters the way that Glen Quagmire looks at Brian Griffin on Family Guy. Many of us can come across as arrogant and narcissistic jerks. I certainly hope that most of us try to live as honestly with ourselves and each other as possible.

I try not to be a wiener, but dang, nobody is perfect:

Divide and conquer

The phrase is attributed to Philip II, king of Macedon (382-336 BC), describing his policy toward the Greek city-states. In politics, divide and rule (also known as divide and conquer) is referring to a strategy of gaining and maintaining power based on the fact that many smaller opponents are easier to manage than one larger one.

The strategy includes:

breaking up power alliances into smaller chunks that are easier to subdue/manage

* preventing small power groups from linking up and becoming more powerful

Effective use of this technique allows those with limited power to control those who collectively would have had a lot more influence

I think the last sentence says it all IMO.

This is why I refrain from arguing with anyone or ever trying to change anyone’s mind if I can help it. I just express my feelings/opinion, wish everyone peace, and leave. The only times I'm dogged or persistent is when I ask a question that does not receive an answer, or which is skirted/deflected/buried. Then I repeat the question until someone offers an actual answer. But that's not arguing; that's asking a genuine question. The only time I’ve ever tried to affect anyone s way of thinking was to encourage them to question things themselves.

I posted in a thread three years ago that I strongly suspect we were being played against one another - at least potentially. I still suspect that.

Peace.

So TPTB are deceiving us into choosing sides. Even though there is always a right side and a wrong side it’s better not to fall into their trap and get fooled into thinking for ourselves to determine the right side from the wrong side and just sit there in limbo like a zombie and choose no side so they can continue on with their agenda of evil with no interruptions from the no-side-choosing zombies.

More psyop war from our friends from the MIC.

And is this why I notice your general absence from these said discussions?

Do you think not discussing will not be playing more into their hands?

I think after 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the PR war on Iran, discussing these conflicts is the best way to discourage them from ever happening. Knowledge is the weapon of the masses, and while the masses are generally stupid and misguided, they can be easily rallied if they are handed even the smallest bit of convincing information. All it takes is communication.

I have to disagree with you if you think posting on a forum is always just a waste. I say "a" forum, some have more influence then others. This one gets a rather interesting cross section of perspectives. Anytime an idea is posted even if a given individual is not affected to "do something", there is still a persistent and multiplicative effect. I have said before Judge Judy is flat wrong; because words do indeed have great power. A primal source of all action of all revolutions of evolution itself is change. Ideas are change come alive, fantastically powerful make no mistake. People have died to just be able to say "I'm here and I have an opinion." To see people risk their lives for THE RIGHT TO THINK OUT LOUD, if you ever seen the passion of people in a totalitarian state as I have say in awe, "you can just talk and it's OK, no police at your door. Wow" is deeply humbling. Only you can make yourself irrelevant. You can make sure nothing you say matters at least for you. But ideas are not just "unimportant because they don't take us seriously"

I have sometimes been more then stunned, and sometimes infuriated with my own people (Americans) who so often have no clue just how much power we have. I don't intend for any of us to loose it. You may agree or not with me or anyone and that is not important. The fact you or anyone can call me a twit (thats being tame, and sometimes deserved) because you don't agree with me is just fine. I and I have seen others make some very interesting comments on this site. Sometimes the "system" gets a bit nervous. I am careful i say nothing that I know about such as a technology or name etc, (its been rare but also is true) that is not something I want someone who hates my country to know. If that strikes someone as a dupe or shill, well, I have pissed a few off a lot, if that makes me look less like a lap dog, I hate those who would abuse or control others and don't give a s***, just the little people huh? Words change things. Words ARE things. And things are the stuff the future is made of. I mean what I said in my "signature" below. And know from experience just what power it embodies. The 100% sure way to predict the future? Invent it. And I invent things, thats what i do. Like synthetic nano-neuromorphic cells for living computers. Or an the "connection" that lets a cybernetic arm communicate with its owner because that connection speaks the same language thats in living organisms. Exploiting quantum mechanics in the business of "Prediction" is big business, and if you want talk about people getting nervous... Best possible job any one could have.

Hey Slayer I think your starting to get it! Honestly the Opening Piece sounds like a complaint about frees speech to me.

Some people are attempting to play ATS like a fiddle and usually that revolves around trying to confuse people into thinking that they can’t make a difference and that it’s not safe or wise to be resolute of purpose.

We all know major events are unfolding, momentous things are happening, and there are those dedicated to wanting to try to keep things on the surface issues, confined to the narrow talking points provided by the left and right, with a heavy reliance on dogma and naivety.

The powers that be know one thing, and that’s how to gain momentum and manipulate momentum for their agenda and marginalize and fractionalize the few that would have the courage and good sense to stand in their way.

They love to do that with confusion, they love to do that with doubt, and they love to do that by playing on people’s fears.

Personally I am not confused; I have never been surer or more resolute in my life.

I’m not worried about being played, I am focused on playing the part I know deep down is the right thing to do, just as well as I can do it.

Right now it’s all about momentum, gaining it, building it, maintaining it, using it to do the hard things that really are all of our responsibility individually and collectively to do.

Anyone confused at this point as to what’s going on, is just incapable of paying attention, in denial, or spreading it by way of deception to further an agenda.

Most of us deep down know exactly what we should be doing right now, and shame on you if you aren’t.

This is our world people, you better start acting like it is and that you care before you end up losing it.

I'm sure I speak for many here in saying that I try to have an open mind, be aware that there are at least two sides to every story, and words without proof are opinions, lies, hearsay, fallacies, or only possibly the truth until shown otherwise. If I am being manipulated then its my own fault for not demanding proof before I make up my mind, and a closed mind is a dangerous thing. Manipulation is all around us. In media, advertising, politics, social encounters.... from children learning the art instinctively to seasoned salespeople to ....well, anyone wanting something and not necessarily able to get it by any other means, including honest communication.

Everytime I was investigating ley lines, or linear features, or my favorite conspiracies, I kept bumping into ATS. It didn't seem to matter what I was investigating. There was ATS again. Finally I said, I better join this forum, I'm prolly missing all kinds of stuff.

But now that I'm here, I keep finding myself embroiled into these increasingly stoooooopid conversations about subjects I barely care about, because that's all that seems to be on the front page. I don't remember it being like that before I joined. It's like it happened right about when I opened my account here about a week ago. Now it's all flamewars over polarizing controversial subjects. I don't know if people are trying to get flags and stars, or if someone is getting these short-fuse threads started to detract everyone's attention...
...but yes I've noticed it, even though I'm new, and it's highly annoying.

I am and have been CERTAIN that this is the TRUTH! I rarely say anything on any matters here on ATS for that reason as well as a few others. Either we are fighting amongst ourselves on who has the greater preponderance of Intel or we are just being manipulated by disinformation specialists to keep us arguing meaningless trivial details. Step-back, realize NONE of us have been invited to the Big Illuminati Party and none of us actually KNOW what the big plans are. The best we can do is advise each-other on what is happening in their little corner of the world without too much speculation. Truth is...even what with all that we may/may not have learned thus far...none of us can do anything except say, "Really"? As bad as it gets, rest-assured- they have folks in think-tanks that do nothing but think of how to second-guess the population. If we zero-in on something of importance, they have already thought of plan B, C, D on how to play it down or break your' credulity...or simply rid you of your' very life. Those we tend to follow because they seem credible and offer so much seemingly "inside Intel such as Alex Jones, Jesse Ventura, fill-in-the-blank...are no more a thorn in Big Brother's side than Popeye the Sailor. They have some real info and some dis-info...enough that, given a fair chance to argue through the points, you would be dis-credited by looking like an utter fool. Remember- the adversary will never give you your' 10 minutes of debate only bringing-up the true Intel...they always go for the weakest points and you are left looking like a blithering idiot. Happens over and over. Good thread!!!

PS: Edit- I see where some have already attacked the OP on this thread, saying it sounds like an attack on free-speech??? If you think speech is free, you are already in denial. But what I wanted to stress is this...that it takes Heros to make a difference and I just haven't seen any here that I can name (self included). Shame on us for not doing what we should be doing??? What do you propose? Yes- without provocation of the timely events going on in the world we all should be ready to weather a season of despair with stored foods, medicines and the such...but no-one is ever expected to face the fall of an empire with adequate preparations. You either are going to walk into a new World Order in humility or you will hold-fast to something bigger than yourself. I will not but mention my refuge for the storm to come is my God...and that is ALL that will save you. This is going to be a total transition, not a 3 month vacation in the woods. I'm done, off my soap-box and you probably won't hear from me again unless you want to know more of my Faith in this Wilderness Walk we are challenged with. I pray for each one of you and hope, by Gods Grace, you all make it through without a scar. Sadly- this will not be the case...and for that I am humbled.

Nature does NOT cause natural disasters in a mappable time period!!!!!!!! If natural disasters are happening on schedule that means they are engineered, and that means not by nature!! They are already mapped people! If something "natural" happens on December 21st 2012 or within it's scope that means it is engineered!!! The obvious laws of nature that we can observe here on earth tell us that nature doesn't set up anything within a squared pattern, yet the accuracy of certain events are believed to be somewhat accurate! This goes against the laws OF nature. We are witnessing a pattern of natural disaster and Earth changing events on our planet that is not of natural design. Why? Because it is mappable! Nature doesn't make even patterns and equal lines, nature is chaotic in all of it's glory.

OK, here goes. I have been following the Mid East rebellions as have many here. I have a different take than most, IMO.

The one nation that is key to all this is Russia. When you see Russia get more involved in this situation and start making alliances with the rebels in the Islamic states you will see the beginning of the end of this age and of a war such as has never been seen on the face of Earth. My thoughts are encased in the following ancient text of a wise man which tells of a time in which we are now living....

yeh man this website is a CIA front, search engine uses google, and alot of the top de-bunkers are paid to "put the wool over your eyes" , "nothing to see here folks just another crazy ass with a stupid theory" and smash them down into the ground, turn the people against them and make some threads look stupid.... sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn't. creating arguments and conflicts in threads, then a MOD comes in and closes it. end of story!
