I just thought of a question for Phage. Don't ask me why I thought of this question now after all this time, but here goes:

Phage, have you ever seen anything in the the sky that didn't have a conventional explanation?

Seems your always finding where MIR was at the moment, or which cape some rocket blasted from, the yaw/pitch/roll/trajectory end exact latitude and longitude of certain flying objects that allow the ruling out of the fantastic.

Have you ever come across anything in the sky that simply defied conventional explanations?

Thanks.

I've seen videos and images that I can't explain but unexplained does not mean unexplainable and it certainly does not mean there is anything paranormal or extraterrestrial going on. When there is not enough information, no conclusion can be reached. When there is even a chance of deception there is no point in even trying.

I've personally witnessed things that made me give pause but I can't recall any that I wasn't eventually able to figure out what I was looking at.

I think we somehow needs to get past the blurry dots in the sky footage stage. Could be a plane, could be a satelite, could be superman or the millenium falcon. We need to look elsewere for the answer...

coupla questions/concerns. regarding our treatment of ufo vids here. unless the footage is daytime, any single light moving silently in one direction could of course always be a lantern or satellite. some will also throw in "helicopter" as an obvious explanation and quite frankly its real tough to tell any dif (aside from engine noise) from a 1 or 2 min random vid filmed who knows when or where.

phage im relatively new here and with all due respect ISS was at about 350km on july6 (its highest alt in quite a while) and this particular vid seems to show something quite close. i realize the nightvis enhances viewing but this thing looks like its right there. please advise.

lastly im sure iv seen investigations/analysis of video by experts who somehow measure the wavelength of light being produced/reflected from alleged ufos and from that were able to determine what sort of combustion/illumination theyre looking at. is this type of analysis hard to come by or $$$?

i do so love this type of video and many thanks to OP & all skywatchers trying to show us what they saw. its a shame theres only so much one can deduce from our livingrooms via video. i hope im the next to see something amazing!

As I pointed out, the ISS was at magnitude -3.4, that's about as bright as it gets and is almost as bright as Venus is right now. The altitude of the ISS doesn't affect its brightness as much as its aspect does. When the solar panels are reflecting sunlight at you, it gets very bright.

There is no way to determine the altitude of a light in a video taken through a night vision scope. We are not seeing an object, we are seeing the amplified light from an object. Electronic sensors are subject to saturation. A bright object "overloads" the pixels it's striking and causes neighboring pixels to light up. The object is not necessarily large or close, it can just be very bright.

Of course there is no way to be absolutely sure that the object in the video is the ISS but the fact that the ISS did make a pass over the area that night, and the fact that the video bears a very close resemblance to other videos of the ISS, makes it an excellent candidate.

Not being a physic's major (or algebra lover) if this was that low then, it would suggest it wasn't too big, right?

I heard James saying "It's going between (behind?) the trees"

Did he mean that literally (like an orb) or was it becoming impeded from his [distant] vantage point??

Although these are always great to watch (from behind the computer screen) I feel I've become too desensitized. I want to see something different now.
Perhaps a crop circle forming? Or a UFO landing? Somethin' other than these dots of lights.

thanks phage just one more. can one expect that ISS will always move in generally a west-to-east direction? seems like as these videos are being shot that direction of flight should maybe be included in the info provided to either help confirm or refute possible identification? your thoughts?

thanks in advance

I mean if I didn't know the background to the video, while watching it on mute, I wouldn't think "Wow, UFO".

Looks pretty ordinary to me. No idea what it is, but if that passes off as good visual evidence I'll go out in the backyard tonight and film Army vechiles flying around, while expressing faux amazement

What is that? The thing I hate about UFO's is they SHOULD be talked about in the news as number one subject, but they're not. Why is science not investigating these things when they seem to be there?

I wanna know the Truth right now!!

Great OP and vid. Seems real enough top me for conjecture.

Id Like to know where this RANCH is, and exactly what goes on there.
If there are ufos on the frequent, then Ive been looking all my life to see what I already believe is there... I suppose I'm just blinded. Am interested in checknig this one out!!!! S&F! fer sure

Urantia1111,
I believe Phage is offline but this may help you identify all sorts of satellites.
You can also track numerous objects in the sky.

BTW, are you related ro e.e. cummins?

Jpvskyfreak…..

In my current thread The Dishonesty & Danger Inherent In The seeingUFOsPA Hoax, my ATS friend KIZZZY produced this very interesting video.

KIZZZY’s video demonstrates the type of night-vision effects that are not well understood by most people, thereby leading to many erroneous claims that “unknowns” are being viewed, photographed & filmed.

The initial 2 minutes of KIZZZY’s video references technical data & commentary validating the subsequent final 2 minutes of strong visual content.

The comparison of ”normal vision” with ”night vision” footage is very well done.

The “ray gun” effect demonstrated at the end of the video is a showstopper!

I believe this video helps to show how the ISS can produce the unusual effects as per your video.

Kind regards

Nice one MMN!

I wish the credulous would take time out to look at this but I fear they simply don't want to have anything explained.

You got a star out of me at least.

Highly recommended.

Thanks and I s&f'd your post.

I have to agree with Phage on this being the ISS. I live in the Pacific Northwest and when the ISS flies over it appears extremely low. No blinking lights just a bright light passing through the sky. Since I watch the skies often, I see the space station quite a bit.
