"WE" was not a word for INTERNET. It was a word for "the people who use the internet".

"MY PEOPLE" is another way to say "the people who use the internet".

The people who use the internet have been developing technologies that allow us to explore without our bodies. The people who use the internet, shape the internet. Their website even gives examples like Google's CEO, and Wikipedia's founder, they are people who helped develop these technologies.

Easily... We created computers. Computers help us advance all the time doing calculations and simulations that nothing else could do. Helping us solve problems. The internet is just an extension of that.

The human race is still in its infancy, we are still discovering new things, and the internet can help us discover more on a global scale. We can even use the internet to help each other, and survive things we couldn't survive before without communication.

The point of the entire commercial was to talk from a different Narrative Mode a.k.a. point of view. It's a technique used to get people to look at a common thing from a different view point, so that it's context highlights a whole new set of thoughts.

I guess some commercials can be too intelligent.

Interesting how you only get this sort of propaganda(?) outside of the U.S.! Hmm, do you think we Americans would be appalled at seeing commercials such as this? I've been watching for this on BBC America and haven't seen it yet.

G'day ALOSTSOUL

All I see is an advertisement for the BBC.

It was a clever, well produced & entertaining advertisement.....but it was just an advertisement.

Kind regards

I agree with what you say it was just a bit to subtle for some on here so staright away they picked up the whole point of this ad the wrong way, now if they cant work something as simple as this out how WRONG are they about other claims made on here.

I agree with you.

I have always wished our collective conscience would evolve from selfish war like to the Star Trek (sorry lack of better description) mentality in time. This has not happened! Two wars that are questionable legally, IMHO, at the same time are some of the reasons the Aliens friends are right not to show themselves to mankind and share their technology! We need a change soon otherwise I fear for the safety of mankind. The planet will hear herself when we are gone.

This video reminds me what could be accomplished with help from those who visit us.

The internet is changing the way the world has been.

Doctors use it to communicate, calculate, and cure diseases faster...

Scientists use it to communicate, simulate, research, and advance our knowledge of the universe, and could help solve the worlds most important issues.

Peace makers use it to spread the good word.

...everything the girl said in the video is basically happening in one way or another on the internet.

From the looks of it, many of you don't know anything about the internet. You only know the mainstream things, and porn.. so your view of the internet is narrow. Of course there is a lot of crap on the internet, but the good out weighs it all by a long shot.

Personally I like the commercial a lot. It gets you to see the internet in a different way....

All of us, right now, are that ghostly woman in the commercial.

[edit on 27-3-2010 by ALLis0NE]

At first i was surprised as to how few people seem to pay attention to the truly important, relevant issues on the internet, and how they mostly focus on inconsequential crap and mind numbing entertainment.

Then i realized it was also like that on the real world.
The internet just sort of quantified it for me, on a global scale.
Put things in perspective, if you will.

This is a revolution we are in the midst of, of telecommunications and information technologies, and i dont think people quite realize that (much like average people during the dawn of the industrial revolution likely didnt know the significance of what was happening around them).

I just wonder how deep it will go, because we havent reached its peak yet (hell, less than a sixth of the worlds population accesses the internet) (1.7 billion to be precise, out of 6.5 billion total population).

From what i have read i kind of know what the next stage is in all this, but i wont tell you, because id rather keep you in the dark.

Things might get crazy in the coming decades, technology wise, and i fear a lot of hapless human beings will be left out of the loop, or easily manipulated by those who know how to leverage the "internet of things".

/end rant

...

Oh, and the BBC ad toys with the idea of alien gurus hand holding mankind, but its just an ad. Theres no one holding our hand. We are on our own, im afraid.

Hello to all. I saw this advert Completely by accident a few weeks ago. Is it just me or is there something strange about it. It seems like someone is trying to tell us something.

What are your thoughts?

peace

Why would an "alien" (if that is what the female represents) dress in "catholic garb" (habit-like) and wear lipstick? Wouldn't an "alien-looking" child be a more-convincing figure? Nah, no earthling-like figure will do. An "alien" has to appear as he/she/it looks to other aliens, if visible to human eyes.

Actually this bbc commercial says more truths about alien than most of the entire story on ATS believe it or not.

Yep aliens can change bodies (real aliens) like clothes, they can get out of their body travel the entire galaxy and come back in a blink of an eye, do you actually think that aliens use "spaceships" to travel from one part of the galaxy to another one?? sorry folks to burst your bubbles but they only use UFOs and bases locally (solar systems) but to travel far distances they get out of their body cross the galaxy in a sec and arrive at their destination (a base on some other solar system) get in a body manufactered for that solar system specifics grab a UFO and go their business of couse they have labor workers (greys...androids at their service fort the common taks).

Actually this bbc says way more than you can imagen and that is a small part of it.

"Truths about aliens"? C'mon, earthlings know as much about aliens as they do about Jesus. Jesus is a myth, a construct. There is no historical evidence. Same thing for aliens. No one, not the BBC, has any "truths" about aliens. The stuff you posted came strictly from your imagination or you got it from someone else's imagination. THAT is the "truth" about aliens. And you must have said it tongue in cheek.

I think that this may have something to do with Extra-terrestrials beings because otherwise why would the women start off in space , well thats just my opinion : )

Well, if i do be honest i highly doubt this is anything to do with alien's this is purely about the internet i think

I'm sorry to bump this, but didn't anyone else see a "subliminalish" word on that picture of the brain..? Around 0.23-0.24..

I'm sure it's not there on purpose and it is a bit hard to see at first glance, but still I find it somewhat interesting

The only people who can right what we've wronged is ourselves, and its almost as if the BBC are dumbing down the population in believing that there schitzophrenic.

You have completely and utterly misunderstood the point of that advert!

In fact, I'd go so far as to say, you have taken from it the complete opposite of what they were saying!

How a person can be so confused and totally misunderstand something so obvious, yet have the cognitive skills to type a message and (no doubt with some struggle) walk and talk at the same time, is beyond me!

Point some fingers, be specific. Then tell me, WHO are they?

LOL that coming from an ATS member.

I'm quite sure your answer is going to be just some group of old aging humans that will never live as long as the internet.

Well, since it appears you possess the psychic ability of the Amazing Kreskin, I have to wonder why you even ask me such a question.

Nor will they live as long as the Earth and the future generations of humans.

The Amazing Kreskin has also given us a hint at how long humanity will exist (***applause from a crowd in awe****)

So in other words, you are going to completely cower away from his/her questions and give an absolute cop out of a reply back because you have been discovered talking about something like you are some kind of authority when in actual fact you know nothing at all about the subject you are preaching about.

We can all talk in cliche, use sensationalist buzzwords so it sounds like we are talking with knowledge about something very interesting but you don't have to dig very deep to see just how empty and hollow it actually is.

You can't get very far in this game with a few nudges and winks and conspiratorial taps of the nose.
