Checkpoints are there to prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering Israel, not to stop Palestinians from leaving West Bank or Gaza. People go through them every day to commute to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Israel has dismantled hundreds of checkpoints since the new government took power as gestures of goodwill.

who put the water systems in?

what is a palestinian?

why won't egypt, jordan or syria help these people who are in many respects, their nationals.

ask yourself these questions first before you start regurgitating propaganda.

Israel is the problem?

That's like saying the child in teh pit surrounded by the rabid dogs is a problem as opposed to recognizing that it is the rabid dogs who are the problem.

get a grip.

the people in gaza will get their two state solution and it will still be a crap hole in gaza. the west bank should be negotiated with Syria. They lost it in the war. Egypt negotiated for sinai. Syyria can open negotiations with israel and resolve the west bank.

some of you have no idea just are satisfied with sympathizing with whoever you think is the most downtrodden.

There is way more to it. Banging on Israel is stupid on so many levels, I don't even know why I am bothering to respond to this, but I guess someone should before this site becomes another stormfront or jew baiting site like rense.

There certainly is one stopping them from heading in one direction. And invisible but very real walls stopping them from heading in the other. Why should they have to leave anyway? Another poster put it as best as it can be put - why should a woman battered for years by her husband be the one that has to leave, shouldn't it be the abuser taken away and locked up?

Read it carefully

You will see the date come up as in between date of signing. It is a formality which is widely overlooked and changed throughout the course of history, as many things are always changed.

Okay so we now have established that "check points exist" well that is a step in the right direction.

Do you by any chance know who is allowed to enter and who is not. Keep in mind, we area speaking about "allowing to enter". So i guess just about now the term terrorist will pop up in this thread, i am only surprised that it has taken so long.

why not invite them to live in your house!

just bring them all over and give them what they want and don't worry about them electing terrorist groups and lobbing explosives into your neighbours yards.

So the War for Israeli Independence was all for show, since they had independence in '22. I call b.s. To say that the Palestinians lost a war and therefore their land, which has been the case world wide since the beginning of time fine. But to claim a technicality that "is often overlooked" is ridiculous.

The truth of the matter is the Brits were playing both sides of fence for some time, and we are still feeling the effects of it. I am of the belief that enough blood has been shed over this nasty bit of land, at this point a solution needs to be found that is fair to both sides and stop with the body count and suffering.

Sound familiar ?

"Naturally the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
This is easy. All you have to do is to sell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

The irony is astronomical.

To answer your question most Arab countries, including Egypt and Jordan (not sure about Syria) are on the US payroll to play nice with Israel. We pay for what little peace (at least at the government level exists) in cash. It's widely documented, I'm sure google will find something.

Yes, Britain played both sides of the fence. We told the Jews we supported Jewish self determination in Palestine and then sought to limit the number of Jewish refugees entering Israel who were fleeing from persecution in Europe and elsewhere because of pressure from Arab leaders and threats of violence.

The original Balfour Declaration (which was endorsed by the League of Nations) included the West Bank and Gaza.

I do realize that my post may offend you, but trust me, i am as biased as they come.

Sure the Palestine have killed innocent people who no association with any military units, that also applies to the Israeli side of the post. The fact remains, that a far more superior power is systematically chocking a much weaker nation for the simple fact that they also claim rights to land which Israel has said NO.

As a result, innocent and not so innocent are brought home in a wooden box, covered in the nations flag and put in the dirt. Is this your idea of a superior nation. My question is, why dont they simply invade Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and establish their own from of political system and be done with it.

Any takers as to why this will never happen ?

This just IS NOT the case!

When has Israel said no to Palestinian self determination?

Israel doesn't want the West Bank, and it sure as hell doesn't want Gaza. All they ask is that if Palestinians have self determination in those regions then they must be at peace with Israel. Peace and mutual recognition and respect first, then you get your own country.

As things stand, both Fatah and Hamas explicitly state in their charters that they stand for resistance against the state of Israel. The radical political movements amongst Palestinians don't want their own state, they want the end of Israel. THAT is what is stopping them from having their own state. Not Israel.

Please explain, what part of Israel's expectations is so unreasonable to you?

Apparently they do, they are settling the land daily and destroying Palestinian homes. If they had no interest then perhaps they should just stay the f**k out, eh!?!?!?!

What part of self determination encourages/forces the population to NOT be self sustaining? They are not allowed to export any goods, and what little "imports" there are come in the form of aid that is allowed in at Israel's discretion.
