Now president Obama is following the foosteps of Chavez and NATIONALIZING the U.S., that is, turning the representative Republic into a Socialist, or even Communist dictatorship....

Yet there are Americans, and other Leftists saying this is not happening, or "it is for the best"?...

Since when is it for the best for ALL Americans not to choose what they want to do with their free time?...

Since when is it best for a President to dictate to PRIVATE companies who they should fire, and what things to build?...

Since when it is best for the government to take over healthcare, when even smaller businesses that the government has taken over are not working well at all?...

Just like another member said, take a look at the Veteran hospitals in the U.S. and that's what NATIONALIZED healthcare will turn into...

I also believe this Obama reality program isn't for intelligent debate to develop the so called 'Universal Health Care Program'. This show is to inform the American public what our 'Dear Leader' has decided to do about health care, and what we need to do to comply.

I think our last opportunity to 'opt out' of this garbage was last November and the majority chose unwisely. It's going to be a rough ride.

I don't deal with that. I have smart white friends and black and all races. I am trying to start a non profit organization to help single teen mothers who have no one to help them so they can get their GED. Hey everyone, this is my first post as iv just signed up(though i have been frequenting this site for some time).

There are two points I would like to make;

Since it is quite clear that this recession is going to turn into another 'great depression', the Obama administration is just doing it's job: securing purchasing power and jobs for the institutions that funded his presidency. The bank 'Bailout' was intended to give banksters life boats, while his healthcare reform will ensure that remaining savings of the baby-boomers goes directly to the prescription drug companies. I expect that after they pass this legislation, more will follow to define and narrow treatment options.

My next point is a little more blunt.

If i cut my pinky finger off, i would neither pay the deductible(if I had insurance) or fork over however many thousands of dollars it costs to reattach it. If the surgery is already paid for then why the hell not? Either way I really don't need my pinky finger. Just imagine how bad things will get when we dont directly/indirectly(private insurance) pay for procedures. We Americans have been raised to actually believe we need check-up after check-up every year when we there is no symptoms of anything....

What does 2 +2 equal? I can't seem to remember.

Wow ABC really is losing it. Lost,Wipeout,and The Unusuals are the only things that keep me watching that network. When they are over will anyone still be watching it? I doubt it even with Obama News about to start

Your ignorance is astounding. Let me get this straight, if you are white and do not agree with Obama then you are racist. Did the people you work with come right out and tell you they hate Obama because he is black or is that just your assumption because everyone that does not agree with him must be a racist? I am not sure you ever really let go of that hatred of white people but keep telling yourself that.

Obama is pushing for unity among Americans and the world, which I am thrilled about. Eventually the world will be under what some call NWO control, but it's an advancement for the world and something to be welcomed. Nations will be erased and we'll be united globally.

Yeah, you forgot the part where we will have NO rights whatsoever!

This country is already in the pits economically, and providing a bigger socialized health care venue will only make things worse.

Why?

Its more "welfare" (promotes laziness)
Higher taxes
Those qualified get paid less

All for a BIT cheaper of health care, that is, for those who can not pay for it by normal means.

I am not a free market freak, and believe there should always be moderation on a GENERAL level...but Obama is taking it to far like any damn politician. Our country is in a crisis, and he keeps wanting to push this damn thing around like a toy ball.

The only good things democrats do is education reform, pro-choice (along with stem-cell research but that isn't been talked about much lately), and VERY FEW long term investments (renewable energy). Now, given all the other things they can mess up, that is not a big list...

I will just say this. LOOK AT CANADA. THEIR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IS A FLUKE. Over worked, under paid doctors, fleeing the country. Enough said.

You can keep your NWO. I happen to enjoy being an American.

Look at it this way. . . in our school system now, if you have an exceptional student, he/she is not praised for his/her intelligence or achievement. Instead the students' achievements are down-played so that the student is then EQUAL to the rest of the class.

America is that exceptional student.
Obama is the teacher that is annoyed by such a brilliant student.
He wants that "student" to be just like all the others in the class.
And, of course, the rest of the students that aren't as bright will want that too.

I like being part of the exceptional class.

The rest can go play, we'll be here to do the hard work and heavy lifting.

To those that want to be like the rest of the class. . . . go save a tree and leave the rest of us alone.

I noticed that my words were being cut off on the post. Big reason my nephew spilled water on my keyboard awhile back. So everything I type certain keys are not working but I am using a different computer now as you see the grammar is correct. All letters are present now , but once again thanks for noticing that.

I personally wouldn't mind a government run health care. Actually, I think the only people that really care are health insurance companies who fear they will have major competition. It will put a lot of health care insurance companies out of business, but I'm pretty certain it wont put ALL of them out of business.

In answer to this naive viewpoint, let me re-state what should be the obvious.

You think you want government run healthcare? Want to see a preview of what it would be like? You could go to Canada and watch them ship a lot of their cases down to the U.S. since they can't get timely care there, especially for time critical cases.

Don't feel like making a tip to Canada, then go visit your local DMV, or any other government office that deals with the public. There you will see the tax-paid employees slowly shuffling around while trying to do the least work possible in an 8 hour day. I work for one of the states and I see it every day.

Want people like that making life and death decisions for you or your loved ones? That's exactly what you'll get with government healthcare.

Now back to the OP, to me this is the worst sign of all of what's been going since obama assumed the throne. The news media is supposed to be the watchdog for all of us over government. When they join hands like this, how will any of us have a chance to know the truth?

Just remember as you watch this all unfold. It isn't Republicans taking your rights and freedoms. It is the democrats using the "mandate" many of you so blindly gave them because you (thought you) wanted change.

I'm getting tired of people with health care putting down any thought of the government getting involved. So here's another side to the story.

You mention time critical cases. Well at least the people on the list have something to look forward to. When I had ins. my deductible was $2000.00 a year and $350.00 a month. Within 5 years I had to have 7 surgeries due to diabetes destroying the ligaments in my hands. That put me in a financial squeeze. Five years ago I went to a dr. for back pain. At that time I still had insurance. Although my doctor said therapy woulnd't help and could cause more damage, my insurance company wouldn't pay for an MRI. Just by x-rays I was diagnosed with severe stenosis of the spine. Even with ins. I couldn't afford the MRI, let alone the surgery I needed.

Appx. a year and a half ago my back pain went into my leg and I could hardly walk due to weakness in both legs and my spine feeling like it was in a vise (vice?) grip. I had to cut down on my work. I was self employed doing physical labor. Last August I had to give up my health ins. or loose my home. I am now in a wheel chair most of the time and will be paralylized within 1-2 years. I am 3 months away from foreclosure.

The state won't help me because I own a 1996 Saab they say is worth too much money. Their doctor says I need an MRI, but the state won't pay for it. I sold my 2002 Surburu, but that didn't make them happy because it gave me about $4000.00 to live on. Thanks to Craigslist and credit cards I have been able to get by for this past year.

Now for the first time in my life I can't pay my credit card debt. I took a cash advance on one card to get me through for a few months.

So, let me ask you this. What's worse... not to have any health insurance or to wait a while to get the care you need? People can't afford the private health care. I don't like Obama. I don't like socialism either. But there are instances where gov't care would be better than nothing. Unless you're willing to pay my mortgage and cost of my surgery. Oh, and my insulin is $800.00 a month.

Did people complain that Bush used to stack his audience's with supporters of his "agendas"? The masses are happy with their new messiah. Is the irony lost that the "drive-by media" the the loony right-wing rants about actually exists? Even Obama's supporters have noticed he acts like a movie star!
