Several of us were saying Obama is implementing Socialist programs, and at first you people were saying that was not true, that it is not Socialism but just working for the people. Now we see Socialist programs, and even worse, socialist programs which exist only in Communist dictatorships and all you can do is make a joke at what we have been pointing is obvious?... Grow the hell up...

Obama is following the footsteps of Chavez, and even worse, and Chavez himself has stated this.

Now it is into law that all children starting from secondary all the way to High School will be REQUIRED to do MANDATORY Community Service. College students will be also REQUIRED to do also some sort of MANDATORY Community Service. Democrats are also trying to pass another bill so children from primary school also do MANDATORY Community Service. Emmanuel Rahm has been interviewed stating that ALL Americans will be REQUIRED to do some sort of MANDATORY Community Service. Even if they are retired, or disabled... Even President Obama's Communist wife Michelle has stated that Obama is not going to allow Americans to return to their normal lives"...yet many in the left kept cheering like brainwashed children...

If you don't understand that you have NO CHOICE on the matter, and you will HAVE TO do what the government tells you to do with part of your free time you are too brainwashed to wake up.

GM is now NATIONALIZED, and several other companies will follow through. of course, the Obama administration also want healthcare to be NATIONALIZED and yet there are Americans who think there is nothing wrong with all of this...

Sweden has 9 million people as opposed to USA's 300+ million. Our govt. would first have to kill off about 3/4 of us to have a well-run national healthcare. Hey you can't even get quality healthcare if you are fully insured in the U.S. unless you have been thru it enough times to be able to identify the pitfalls as I have. Most hospitals, if you leave a loved one there alone who is very sick, they will be dead when you get back to them. So I truly doubt nurses and doctors who are controlled and paid a controlled wage by Uncle Sam are suddenly going to declare that they only got into medicine to HELP PEOPLE anyway, and who cares about the money? lol

In Venezuela, most of the media, just like in the US, are privately owned.

Btw, media doesn't have to be state owned to LIE to you. Almost all US media are privately owned, and they lie like hell.

I don't have time to read the full article, but I will. I would think that she has some definite recourse then, certainly against the hospital and probably against 911. I hope she has a good lawyer.

Some would say that. What we need to do first is close our borders and second deport all the people who are here getting medical care for even a runny nose in emergency rooms. Deport every last one of them and their babies too. I am not a heartless person but I believe charity begins at home. Maybe the mexican government can start using some of the billions of dollars they seize from the drug cartels and start taking care of their own. In the US, hundreds of hospitals have had to close because of illegal aliens getting ALL of their health care at emergency rooms and never paying a dime. I know I can't go into an EM and get free treatment. That would be a start.

Since when is it for the best for ALL Americans not to choose what they want to do with their free time?...

Since when is it best for a President to dictate to PRIVATE companies who they should fire, and what things to build?...

Since when it is best for the government to take over healthcare, when even smaller businesses that the government has taken over are not working well at all?...

Just like another member said, take a look at the Veteran hospitals in the U.S. and that's what NATIONALIZED healthcare will turn into...

Terribly unfortunate, and I am sorry for her and her family. Hopefully any relatives/loved ones will follow through on the behalf of her and her baby.

You make a point but it still doesn't represent the health care here. The law says she had a right to the safe delivery of her child. Those in the path b/w her and this care were to blame for this tragedy.

Edit: Ok, read the article. The woman wasn't pregnant, sorry for the references but the point you originally made was directed at pregnant women dying in hallways.... Honestly this sounds much more like a legal issue. Unless Obama's charisma lends to enchanting the whole of humanity so that those so inclined no longer behave like heartless and irresponsible stewards, his health plan would not assure this scenario could never happen. Sadly, some folks will always pass the buck and the more the bureaucracy, the easier it is to do.

Wow this is funny this site has alot of republicans on it. Clearly this thread was a waste. ABC is not going to be controlled by the government. So please don't scare all the members that are not too bright to think so. He is just doing a press confrence as he always does and many presidents. What is funny about since i became a member i only look at facts not. I am not a racist. I use to be a person in my teens who thought all white people were wicked and devilish. Now it is just anyone. Please stop looking for every moment to attack a president who is in fact cleaning up anothers idiot presidents mess. Secondly to show im a devils advocate george bush sr was a better president than his son though i didn't vote for him. Fact! This site is about opinions we all have them but don't make it a race thing because well i could go on for days about the racist things bush did so lets not go there. ABC is airing about health care which is important and he has been doing a good job even better hes doing things no president has done in their entire term in just over 100 days.

Its saddens me to see this once again turn into a Democrat vs Republican issue. As others have said on this thread, the two parties are set up to cause we the people to fight with each other instead of blaming the real people who control the government (and both parties).

To anyone reading this that is Republican or Democrat I would ask you to try to not think of these issues as your party or team winning or losing, but to think as an individual who wants the best for their country. While I vehemently protest referring to people based on their political parties, for simplicities sake I will in the following:

To Republicans: Although you may be outraged (as you should be) that your point will not be heard on this broadcast, take time to consider the fact that usually only to points are allowed broadcast, the Republican and the Democrats.

Most of us in the ATS community never have anyone expressing are varying view points, as well as countless other people. What you are angry about in this one issue, we deal with every day. You should remember how you feel now and help advocate the permanent end to the bias of both parties in the media.

To Democrats: Don't look at this as your team winning or getting back at Bush. Many of us here on ATS hated Bush and publicly denounced him. I for one wanted Obama to succeed, but will continue to call out when he fails and does the same things the last administration had done, or breaks his promises, etc.

Don't get sucked into the gamelike mentality of, "Bush or Fox did it, now its our turn". This is not a game. This is the future of our country and the world, and to treat it as a game is sick. If you truly believe your party is best for the country, then don't compare them to the last administration, hold them to a higher standard and call out even small instances when freedom is infringed upon (such as in the OP).
