They were put through rigorous testing and they were highly qualified engineers / test pilots / geologists- all the training was highly specific to the requirements at that time.

Today the shuttle payload consists of several specialists in their field, who cross-reference their results.

I don't know Jay. I get pretty excited even today after a lifetime of interest in collecting and studying mineral specimens when I find something. Even when it is of little value.

Nothing would thrill me more than to know they had encountered beings or ships from elsewhere on the Moon. I'm just not ready to say that this is the smoking gun evidence when it can be so easily understood and explained.

i find it strange that the "aliens" are always lit up like christmas trees in these encounters. it feels counter intuitive.

when we study wild life we use a hide to observe in as natural a setting as possible. why would aliens constantly advertise their presence by lighting their ships so garishly if their goal is observation?

great thread OP, interesting account, i look forward to the quotes.

Maybe you need to think outside the box for a second. What we perceive as light may not be how aliens perceive. Maybe they see in a different spectrum to us.

There is no smoking gun evidence, Blaine.
The difference between someone who realizes they are out there and engaging and someone who doesn't is that the people who realize it can take all the circumstantial evidence and recollect it at will and lump it ALL TOGETHER and come to that conclusion.
You can call us believers or idiots. It doesn't matter.

Occam's Razor only can work as swamp gas or whatever else so many times before a person comes to the realization that the simplest answer actually accounts for a bunch of them.
Contact has been made and the Government knows it.

Put very succinctly Jay - in AR..

I don't know if anyone has also seen the write up on the retro reflectors placed on the moon by some of the Apollo missions.

en.wikipedia.org...

Please refer to moon section. about two thirds of the way down on the page...any opinions on these and what they are for - if they WERE left there???

An opinion regarding the retro reflectors that were left on the Moon by certain designated Apollo missions:

(Beginning of quote)
from a person called phelotomy
Does anyone know the reference and when the results of this was first published? My apologies, but my scientific literature searching skills are limited to biological science.

I can't help wondering if given the state of the technology of the early 70s whether this might not have been actually a little beyond them - a bit like those early experiments to prove relativity detecting small changes than their instruments were calibrated to read accurately.

I was reading this link

sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov...
Perhaps it is gilding the lily to impress the rubes but...

"The reflectors are too small to be seen from Earth, so even when the beam is precisely aligned in the telescope, actually hitting a lunar retroreflector array is technically challenging. At the Moon's surface the beam is roughly four miles wide. Scientists liken the task of aiming the beam to using a rifle to hit a moving dime two miles away......
Once the laser beam hits a reflector, scientists at the ranging observatories use extremely sensitive filtering and amplification equipment to detect the return signal, which is far too weak to be seen with the human eye. Even under good atmospheric viewing conditions, only one photon is received every few seconds."

Call me stupid, but if you take the an original beam dispersed to 4 miles wide, of which only about 1 foot squared is available to be reflected back, and that 1 foot square is dispersed on the way back to 4 miles wide, not including any slight imperfections in the retroreflector adding a slight angle. On top of which the 2.3-6 seconds the earth will be rotating away - so that the beam will be being reflected back to a different position on the earth's surface from where it was sent.

In sum, I am a little doubtful if in the early 70s they have the equipment that could detect and amplify this one photo every few seconds.

It would be interesting to read the original publication - if they actually published in a peer reviewed journal. (end of quote)

Sorry if I've broken any rules Mods??

Haven't seen any official documentation nor on- going experimentation on this- anyone enlighten me?

Not one Hyperlink,OP could you post the Hyperlinks to your sources please,if I have to find them which I will not, it would mean I'm doing your research to confirm your post, which is a waste of time.

Why do I ask? well it is 09' and I have resources to follow this statement below through.

At the time this happened, live television broadcast was interrupted for two minutes due to a supposed “overheated camera”,

Good work,thanks Whisper67.

Now I'm going to see if I can find info on that "Two Minute loss of transmission",through the receiving stations.Which if found will verify this event.Just one piece of the puzzle at a time.

Regards
Zelong.

EDIT:
Sorry but these links are all amazon.com.I won't be buying any books.

I'll still see if I can dig something up.

Welcome, Jools! It's always nice to see a new member contribute to a thread AND take on my right honorable friend "Phage" with no fear! Just make sure you have facts to back up your statements, however. "Phage" will call you out every time if you don't!

I remember hearing about the "ham radio ops hear hidden UFO moon transmissions denied by NASA" concept in the mid 1970s ...doesn't mean it's true but it has been around for a while. I seem to remember an old interview with the writer JG Ballard, where he references the same as well...he had one story from back then where the moon astronaut says something suggestive like "I see the blue cities" (or maybe the "blue gardens", something like that)
And as to the question of how could they hear music where there's no air...ain't there certain microwave frequencies where you can do like a vocoder-effect to shape the waveform into a pulse that causes the target human to hear the word (that shaped the pulse) in their head? Of course whether such radio could penetrate their helmets and who or what would cause such a radio pulse...I mention it only for completeness...or maybe some metal in their helmets could act as a radio receiver, or maybe it was some harmonic of their suit radio's frequency band...I am ignorant on these subjects. yup-yup

What I am about to tell you is a real experience.

Last week, while driving my ATV at night from a friends house to my land in Central America, I as well as a friend of mine witnessed a UFO of neon red and blue and an intermittent yellow light. At times the light would disappear and then reappear nearby. The object appeared as a glowing smoothe saucer shape at what seemed to be in the stratosphere and would move very quickly from one space to another though was clearly a travelling object. It would go back and forth in a triangular motion. It appeared to me as if the aircraft was moving via electromagnetism similar as to a Mag-lev train operating without friction or physical contact with no apparent friction but rather magnetic movement. There was no noise though the jungle can be a chorus of its own at night. This went on for about 15 to 20 minutes. It appeared the object was observing/recording some data in the region by the way it was moving around as if it was getting multiple shots of an object from multiple angles. My partner flashed his flashlight at the object a few times and it paused for a minute, light disappeared and then reappeared as it shot out of sight moving at a great speed out of sight.

The local Indians are used to the objects and seem to them as ordinary just as the Jaguar and Mayan pyramids are in the region.

There are many caves in this remote and thinly populated region. I'm not going to get into the cave issues though it is an interesting topic among UFO researchers for obvious reasons.

This is an 'awakening' experience. For some reason I felt compelled to go to the land at night on my ATV and park on a hill where I am to build a house of which was recently scraped and plotted by bulldozer. I'm looking forward to moving in.

Perhaps this could be some "Change we can believe in" after all. The world is clearly 'out of order' and humanity is clearly disconnected from one another. You have all been divided and conquered many times over. It appears an important 'transition' is about to take place.

They are lit up because they want us to know they are there.

So what are we going to do about it? They are there and they are trying to help us - but some of them are not - WHO DO WE CHOSE?

This has been one heck of a read guys!!!
Love to see all of the involvement, great links, wonderful debate!
I have nothing to add at the moment, as pretty much everything NASA-related seems to have been covered here thus far.
Kudos all!
