Thanks.

I spoke with my wife about 20 minutes ago, and it actually turns out we won't owe anything on the car, and should end up with an adequate down payment on a new car. So like I said...things could always be worse.

Also, I'd be all for having a lighthearted debate, especially now. I'd have to wait until after Christmas though if you don't mind.

We could start Monday morning?

Is the glass half-full? Do you think you will come out of this with a better auto and same or lower payments?

Also, I love your signature. I'm co-opting it, not on the site, in life. But you shoud know, my husband hates you...

Skyfloating, my friend, no apology needed. You'll have a u2u shortly as I probably shouldn't say more in 'public' until after the debate is judged. Actually, I've probably said too much already.

Nyk, I feel your pain. My truck is seriously wounded and possibly dying, and we don't know what we're going to be able to do about that. We have two vehicles, but as my husband and I both work 25 miles or so from home in opposite directions and have different schedules, we HAVE to have two vehicles. Makes for a great Christmas, doesn't it? Although we are going to try to limp up to my folks' on Sunday when they're having their big dinner and all, there's no way we can make the trip to Kansas City so hubby can see his family.

Awh Nyk, I'm sorry to hear they'll be writing off the car....that's a pain in the #. I was in an accident 2 winters ago, rolled my car, (Didn't hit anyone or anything, and no injuries), but about $6,000 worth of damage to the car.

It took them almost 3 months to tell me what they were going to do. It must've been appraised three or four times -- and since my parentals live in a hicktown, the appraisers all came from the City.

I'm glad you'll be able to afford a new car, living out a of town and driving to work is sure a lot more conveneient then cabbing it, or you know, hitch-hiking.

You're right, it can always be worse....always.

- Carrot

PS. I am glad that you're okay...

Yes, EST. Let's shoot for Monday then.

We can work up a topic and everything tomorrow, as I'm getting ready to head home.

Looking forward to it.

Because I laughed out loud when I read your signature. He asked why, I told him. And now I keep telling him... "I don't want to say I'm right, I just want you to know".

I'm thinking about getting a placard made of that saying to carry around, or perhaps a sandwich board...

Okay, TWISI, you're up.

And if you don't have any sympathy for those poor little elves after reading that post, you may not be human! (Which is, of course, considering where we are, a possibility!)

And, since I'm trying to get into the holiday mood, here's an early Christmas present for my good friend Skyfloating, a lovely picture taken recently by my stepmom.

I have to say that, now my Santa for President debate is over, I would never in a million years seriously vote Santa Claus for President.

It was an interesting debate and I hope chissler holds no grudge regarding some of the comments made in defense of my position, as I meant none of it...well, outside the context of the debate...

You should make use of the FCP 'K-Machine' and say you're sorry with a song.
