Finished shopping, now for lunch and look forwards to getting drunk with a few friends and family later.

Then tomorrow, I am taking my GF for a xmas/birthday champagne picnic brunch on the beach before we come home and prepare a late (ish) xmas dinner.

St Stephens day is lazy with a visit or 2, buffet food, a few beers and a chilled out day.

Saturday we're going to see my friends xmas gig.

Pressies are opened just after midnight tonight

Then it's all over for another year

Merry Christmas everyone

edit:

@Orange: a little real fun and a little duty. Yesterday and today was nice - just my parents, my sister and I. This weekend will be partly nice and partly stressful.

Saturday: about 35 relatives from my mom's side of the family
Sunday: about 25 from my dad's side.

It's a lot of freaking relatives in my parent's house, with my mom's stress and people-pleasing level at ultra-high through the whole thing

And this year there are going to be a lot of little kids too, which always makes it extra raucous and causes fear that I might step on one of them

i see dingbat.

although little children tend to make a house loud and noisy they also make it lively and funny.
when they are not just screaming and trying to demand their parents to do special things for them, it can be very very great to have them around you -. especially at chrismas

now i have another day to survive
son still with his dad - til sunday
all friends are wrapped up in families
those who asked me to join them are over 200, 400 or 8000 miles away ;(

Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!!

A very embarrassing thing happened to me yesterday. I'm normally not one to cuss or yell but my precious and very playful older brother kept sneaking up behind me yesterday at my parent's house and would grab/shake me by the shoulders and yell, 'Boo!' right into my ears. I don't startle well and asked him nicely the first 5-6 times to please stop it and that my nerves were shot due to all the holiday hubbub.

The noise in the house started to really get to me so I retreated to a quiet room to read a book when AGAIN I was snuck up on, my shoulder's grabbed, and 'Boo!' was screamed into my ear. I lost it and yelled at the top of my lungs the 'F' bomb with an -ing suffix followed by using my precious Lord's name in vain, along with 'DAMN IT' and ended with 'STOP IT!' It just all kind of fell out of my mouth.

Then I turned around thinking it was my brother but instead it was my precious white haired grandfather, the holiest man I've ever known, and a pastor of 30 years. I was horrified, apologized up and down, explained the situation, and almost became the first 29 year old to get my mouth washed out with soap.

It became the family joke of the day and I don't think I've ever blushed so much.

Hope you guys had as much 'fun.'

I'm glad my humiliation is entertainment for others. I admit it is funny now. The moral of the story is: If you're going to rant out a list of obscenities and use the Lord's name in vain, make sure you know your audience and that there isn't a sweet silver haired pastor standing behind you.

And cute video. lol
Thanks for sharing.
