OK, I've just gotten home from my annual trip to finish my Christmas shopping in the wee small hours of Christmas Eve at the Herald Square Macy's (which is open 24 hours in the days before Christmas so that even insomniacs can get their shopping done )

Now I have about eight hours before I have to be on a train, and I'm going to write the damn closing if it kills me.

i just tried to burn my house!

doing sushi tonight - veggie sushi homemade

a friend told me: use just plain round grain rice
not really telling me how to use it, always claiming: as usual as usual
aha as usual i use it for rice pudding, but i won.t do sushi with milk

so i just heated it and waited for boiling - got a gas stove i hate that stove
ok lets just check some emails
30 minutes later, big smoke in my apartment, and the pot burnt and so the rice

cats whining, all windows open, we survived
but i was scared

hurried to the local grocer and got some real sushi rice!

I'm heading up to New Haven to visit my parents this morning, and I'll be there until late tomorrow.

Then I head back up again on Saturday&Sunday for more Christmas fun
