Just an update...the BBC is reporting tonight that Pakistani intelligence made an arrest and uncovered the plot through their "interrogations". I'm not saying it's the truth, I'm just reporting the latest on the official spin. All suspects were British born citizens of Pakistani decent. The first institution to publically release their names,addresses, and nationalities was The Bank of England ( ??? ). 19 suspects named,24 arrested. America says that 5 suspects are still at large. I thought I would try to give an honest update of the story they're selling instead of blowing a lot of hot air about my OPINIONS on Israel,Muslims,the definition of Fascism,and the evils of Capitalism- blah-blah-blah I'm not saying opinions are bad,I'm just saying that I'm a little shocked and saddened to see such polarization and rampant hatemongering being spewed about around here. There are other threads for that crap. My take on what is SUPPOSED to be happening ( in part ) at ATS is that we collectively have a place to peel away the layers of official BS to get at the truth ( such as it can be discerned ). How about less opinionated BS and more facts?

Liquid explosives would have to be sealed to such an extent for them to be at all effective, that I find it hard to believe that they could have been carried in contact lense containers. I might be wrong but any opinions on this?

5 suspects are still out there and the assets of the terrorst suspects have been frozen by the government.

BBC is doing is best to scare us all again with talks of "they will strike again"...which isn't very nice.

i dont kno what to think no more. these people that we see who are accused and blamed for terrorist attacks, how the hell do we kno they really did it? there was 19 people blamed for september the 11th yea, and out of them, only 10 are actually dead. the other 9 have had contact with there families, or have actually been seen. and at least there's proof for this. (loosechange) ..

so yea, in a way i am saying there's no terrorists. and that the real threat is our government who are playing a trick on our heads, using the media to brainwash us into thinking that these ''islamic fascists'' are terrorists.. its pathetic.

I don't have proof, but I can show you an article I have posted at least 4 times in this thread, which explains why they think it is islamic people linked to al queda. There are other reports that confirm the intel is coming from Pakistan which indicates islamic people in al queda are plotting the attacks.

Let me something point out, only American officals are making a match to Al Qaeda. I have not and do not think no British offical has linked it to Al Qaeda, they're still thinking its domestic terrorism, who had training in Pakistan. No mention of Al Qaeda from us jolly Brits

John Reid still thinks they are others out there and he is not naming any numbers. He has just said "its an on going operation". Could be more than 5, we're not being told.

Al-Qaida members huh? I often wonder if they throw in the links to Al-Qaida part so as to make the terrorists more "recognisable". You know, just in case us not-so-smart folks will understand what they really mean when they speak of terrorists.

At any rate the email urged Am. citizens to retain a low profile and to be aware of thier surroundings. However what I thought was enlightening was this part of the story:

My theory is that the powers that be in the UK, probably thought it could be done without a significant loss of life - very similar to 7/07 - which did have casualties, but minor in comparison to what could have happened and certainly minor in comparison to the actual devastation of fear and chaos that ensued.

The manner in which to scare people has certainly improved in the last few years. While I'm not happy about the way we are constantly being manipulated, I'm glad the UK takes a stronger stance on the loss of life versus striking fear into the hearts of people by ANY means necessary, - even if that means killing your own citizens.

And yes, in this case, I do think it us up to the UK to decide how far it wants to go in this ‘terrorism’ sham. Observe how it was all done yesterday with little more than glue, trick mirrors and glitter. Be amazed at how quickly a country can cave in to its worse fears and prejudices if enough pressure is applied correctly.

Bush and his little malcontents may dictate the way forward for the US and its allies, but I don't think he has any say in how many UK civilians get killed, for the purpose up keeping up the façade.

Makes me wonder how the powers that be could have let 9/11 happen on the magnitude that it did? Or maybe it’s because some idiots have so little finesse that they believe that the only way to scare a population into submission is by using the old shock and awe tactic.

I predict that in the next few months, we will see more of this sort of 'caught them in the nick of time' scenarios. It wins the hearts and minds right? And maybe if we are really, really lucky and submit to everything THEY tell us - in the exact way the tell us - there will be no need for anyone else to get hurt.

theyve just mentioned on news 24 now how alot of conspiracy is already flying around about this subject. mentioning how people are writing in, saying that 9/11 and 7/7 were set up by the government, and how this is similar. duno about you's, but im with those people..
