Power production... maybe. Until people can cheaply live off grid individually.

Policing... fire... generally best done locally. A basic govt function.

Public schools are a collossal failure in most parts which is why the wealthy tend to send their kids to private schools or live in areas with good public schools (which really are private since the average person couldn't afford to live in the community).


Transportation? UPS, FedEx, and the other services do much better than the USPS. Airline deregulation is why you can fly cross country for like $200 bucks. Much of the airline issues with service are in fact driven by govt regulations that make competition harder (competing airlines can't get gates at airports) so you have a monopoly / oligopoly in most major cities.

I have always believed that if these lefties want a socialist country then there are already plenty of socialist countries out there, why don't they just move to them? Leave this what it is and go live in a socialist country

Of common people only the dumb, lazy, dependent or those suffering chronic and permanent form of blind idealism believe there is any use even entertaining this type of system.

"Honor" in the founders days was so highly regarded in civil society that broken it resulted in duels to death, they took it seriously. I suppose they couldn't conceive of the day when it didn't mean spit.

Many times I've said one wants to take first step on road to ending corruption and inequality by government then that first step is putting teeth into the oath of office due generally dishonorable way politicians approach the constitution and governing.

It should be felony to willfully violate constitution via vote, passing legislation or mandate by duly elected federal office holders.

The USSC should be doing review of legislative work prior to arriving at Presidents desk for signature - not years or decades later.

I personally think these to slight changes would go long way ending corruptible nature of current system.

Term Limits and banning lobbying period be right down list.

First they told us that political climate change being nothing more than a backdoor for communism was just a silly conspiracy theory. Then they said that their brand of socialism is like the Nordic model of socialism or FDR-style socialism -- even though neither ever were socialism. Now they are proposing a massive climate change proposal that is in fact nothing but a backdoor to communism.

These people are frauds of the highest order and among the worst humans walking the earth.

If you want to discuss issues like clean energy and healthcare and education reform then fine -- but these people aren't even discussing those things. It is pass this bill or else everyone dies!!! It is the street-wise equivalent of taking candy from a stranger in a white van with panel siding.

We already are proto socialist, we already collect taxes and "redistribute wealth" and have been since the new deal.

Very well said - what you neglect to mention is that in most Western Democracies our Members in the Houses or Senate leave Government hugely more wealthier than when they went in, not even taking into account generous superannuation/pension plans, travel allowances etc.

Revolving door into private practice as consultants ( yeah calling in old favours with your mates still in Government ) or CEO's. I could go on but I think you get the drift that Politicians smell awfully close to their Chinese or Russian Oligarch mates.

Dont tell me you haven't seen them having a drink together after the public circus show?

As to everyone being "declared" a millionaire yeah we get that.

If it was such an ideal noble "ideology" it would stand on its own merits, instead it needs public tax bailouts, fudging figures as to true inflation, the printing of endless worthless cash. It needs protection from "unfair" litigation so it can keep killing people or poisoning their water supply.

And if you could point out 1 or 2 wars that Russia or China have entered into for looting, oil, resources, opium production in the last 20 years I would be grateful.

I could show you at least quite a few US and English French Australian corporations that benefited from these endless "wars for freedom", to topple so called rogue "regimes".

So just lay down and give up? FDR was a late comer to the table and I do agree with poster who mentioned post civil war reformation as one genesis for fedzilla. Go back further a bit to Marshall court taking powers not stated in constitution as conceptive of the whole mess.

1913 needs reversal both monetary system and senate voting as it should be obvious to all what damage was done then.
