How might a light shine in the night
wavering in the cold, shivering, alone
how might a bird fly
solemn through a listless sky?
The weight falls down, heavy
upon too-tired shoulders, it rests.

Hark: the lonesome dove cries
not of sorrow, not of pain,
but of life.
Singing his joy
making it his own.
So let the darkness
pass you by
close your doors up tight
you'll make it through all right

Have no fear, the battle is won,
for in your heart, there is light
focus on it, the voice of hope
when fear and doubt threaten to drown

I had a nice unexpected meditation this evening that help my brain sort things out somewhat. My next trick will be to talking the cats into moving so I can lay down and try to nap or sleep while dad has the tv blasting too loud.

Tell us about the meditation. Oh and, just gently move the kittys away so you have your space. They'll get it after a enough tries. LOL

When my head isn't foggy and I'm not distracted like a dragon when he sees something shiny, then I see.

Hey some dragons have learned to hate that little quirk of theirs, and have since mastered it! As for the fog, I know not any sure remedy, but here, for you: a star, to pin on your chest, which will shine a soft, warm light for when it gets too foggy

Well the star I gave you doesn't have a cool name like earendil, but (shrug)

I think I speak for us all at the shed when I say that You are our most beloved star.

***Trumpets***
(Sorry about that!)

It looks like... for the first time in about 10 days... the temperature (here in chilly Scotland) has crept up above freezing!
YAY!
But, as always... there is a cloud on this particular silver lining.... it's now grey, windy and p*ssing down with wintry rain!!!!

Ach well, whit kin ye dae?

Here's something that you might like...
My dear departed mum LOVED this time of year and really got into the "Christmas Spirit" with all of the tacky XMAS tat like flashing Santa earrings, Rudolph antlers or tinsel-covered hats. (I know.... I know....)

My immediate family don't usually swap gifts (apart from gifts for the kids!) - we all put money into a big "pot" instead and then have our own "Christmas Lottery" where we nominate our fave charities by writing their names on little slips of paper and drawing out a Winner to receive the money.
It's great fun and has become a bit of a tradition for us.

But... this Year (because mum is no longer with us) we decided to mix things up a bit in her honour!
So, we will be introducing the 1st Annual Grannie Vi Christmas Headgear Competition!
We all have to MAKE and wear our own Christmas headgear (anything goes, the more outlandish the better).
We then cast votes in an X-Factor styleeee to choose which is the best, and the winner gets to nominate which charity receives the "money pot" in honour of my mum!

It should be a hoot! and my mum would have loved it.

I shall TRY and remember to take photos!

I don't usually get up at 430 in the morning but I did so today as I went to bed very early last night. The cats must have been reading what I was typing about them as when I turned around both of them have left the room already.

I'll share the story about the meditation later on today when I can see better.
