It is going to get harder and harder to tell what the hell the facts are these days. The research I've done has Hillary winning the popular vote like the OP says.

Neither Clinton nor Trump received more than 50% of the popular vote and from what I can tell Clinton won by a margin smaller than 1% which in the end doesn't matter, because it's the electoral vote that counts.

So, you guys are going to fight (like little children) over this teeny tiny margin which doesn't makes a difference at all.

While you guys behave like little children, your country is still going to sh*t and will continue to do so.

If you haven't figured out by now that Trump sits in the same boat with Clinton and that this whole election was a scam to divide the nation, you're lost.

Their plan worked perfectly.

Blah, blah blah. Anything Pres Trump wants to accomplish, outside of tearing up Pres Obama's executive orders and issuing his own limited ones, needs to be approved by BOTH houses. Pres Trump will not have a blank check of approval from every Republican and/or Democrat, based on these numbers, because they ultimately have to answer to their constituents.

The 2014 elections gave the Republicans control of the Senate (and control of both houses of Congress) for the first time since the 109th Congress.

Look, a lot of Donald Trump's promises are not "Republican" projects, like term limits, and are not going to pass. Obama had a majority when he first took office too, yet he still had to deal with a stall wall of resistance.

Roll up you sleeves, because there is a lot of HARD work ahead. There's no Yellow Brick Road to OZ!

Hey ?

How many people ran for president ?

HOW MANY ?

Anyone trying to push Clinton got more is pushing intellectual dishonesty, and should not be allowed to vote.

Since they have no idea how the American electoral process works to begin with.

The answer was 4 people ran for president PLUS the write in.

The MAJORITY of people DID NOT VOTE for CLinton.

Not the first time the winner lost the popular vote

1824: John Quincy Adams
1876: Rutherford B. Hayes
1888: Benjamin Harrison
2000: George W. Bush
2016: Donald J. Trump

Relax, no alt-lifestyle or immigrants(illegal or not) will be rounded up and killed. Thats a scare tactic on par with "Reefer Madness"

SpiritualZombie keeps mentioning the truth. The truth is that we do not live in a democracy. This is a republic. We don't want manhattan and Los Angeles making the rules for everyone else. Besides the problem with democracy which we will find out the hard way in a decade or two is that when 51% of the population doesn't work and depends on the 49% that do work, yet everyone gets an equal vote.

But enough about that. Trump won. Anyway you slice it. Gtf over it

Not only that it doesn't matter. If you factor in the cheating that must have gone wrong n it was probably a landslide for Trump.

To the OP,
Your initial post was most certainly true at the time you posted it. But it is looking like there may be a chance of 3million ineligible votes. If what I was reading is correct it may be up to the courts to decide and it move the popular vote over to Trump.... will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Apparently people just like you care...very much.
Thus the fake news story and hoax thread on ATS with a gazillion flags.
If it is not important...then why are Trump supporters creating BS stories and OPs claiming the same?

Feel free to bash me for using wikipedia as my source on this but;

52.3% of voters (who voted) didn't vote for Clinton.
52.7% of voters (who voted) didn't vote for Trump.

IMO, that's the point of this argument. Although -

72.3% of all eligible voters didn't vote for Clinton.
72.5% of all eligible voters didn't vote for Trump.

So really, saying the people desired either candidate seems flawed. The system chose one, though honestly you had two terrible candidates.

Additionally, off topic but it shows how flawed the UK's democracy is too:
75.5% of eligible voters didn't vote for the Conservatives.

But, do Manhattan and Los Angeles overly want the middle of America making the rules for them?

The gist is, most systems are flawed. And given the state of the Senate and house of representatives, those who voted Democrat aren't overly going to be served by their government for a long time.
