Btw, regarding WWII, US was seeking a reason to get involved to save their ally the UK and Japs presented them a good reason with Pearl Harbor.

There was a ground to air bomb named Wasserfall for Waterfall in english. This would go up in the air and explode like a cluster bomb and release various bomblets into 2-3 km wide area. This would have blown up the various formations of bombers flying over an area. Many military persons call this as a potential game changer denying the West the carpet bombing abilities of the German industries and troops.

If given 6 months more, Nazis might have gotten their hands on the A-bomb and that would have cast an evil spell on the earth's future.

However, as to what the 'magic weapons' would have done to the outcome is only a 'what if' argument. But Nazis lost the war at the gates of Moscow and then next summer Hitler directed them to slaughter in Stalingrad. The next summer Battle of Kursk was the real retreat of the Nazis that ended only at the bunkers of the Reichstag.

Btw, greatest crime of the war was the direct killing of 10 million Russian POWs in Nazi captivity. 10 million Russian civilians also died of various reasons.

Measures should be taken that such events do not happen anywhere on earth in the future.

Russias weapon Technology is what it is for a very good reason. Even American soldiers and Pilots who have Field tried their weapns and air crafts know what advantages they have over Our western high Tech systems. The Russians even explain why they Field robust weapon system. One main reason is that Russia have more than one apponent on the Field, not just the US. And these apponents are not some poor farmers With AK47 and RPG camping in Caves and buildings.

Hight Tech weapons systems are very often dependent on other high Tech systems. If one is out so it the other.

It's either 3 roads; the good, the bad and a mix of those two. The good would mean peace, economies thriving, maybe a robotics revolution where the state provides food, clothing, shelter and education to the masses, all built with robots. The bad would mean all out war. The mix of the two would mean slow development of robotics replacing jobs, only catering to the needs of the rich, a divide in society of rich and poor and worldwide skirmishes.

I can see Russia surviving a nuclear war. Russian are hardly people. The worst things get and more Russian that are killed the harder and harder they get.

Us westerners not so much.We are soft lazy and stupid. UK would be obliterated from the start. We would cease to exist in hours. So likely will France.

USA? I see a slow death. I see 75% surviving the initial blast. But I see a good many dieing helplessnesses when walmart runs out of Twinkie s and ready meals. The rest will turn on each other. First the mob will go for the political class and 1% who like cowards would have abandoned the people and be hiding in there bunkers. Once they have been flushed out the mob will turn on itself. The US of A will tear itself apart. It will be like new Orleans but on a nation wide scale. Only survivors I see are street gangs, healthy retired vets, a very very 0.01% who adapted quickly and remnants of the US military, either a few dumb surviving units who tried to stay loyal to the government, a few units that go it alone and many deserters who left to protect there family's and homes.

We don't know what secret weapons the Russians have developed since then.

Russia puts the heavy weight on the nuclear, delivery, and laser tech. Some say also plasma weapons and geophysical, Tesla weapons. There are Russian documentaries, but that is hard to be proven in the type of "CNN SAYS = IT IS TRUE.".

What is publicly known from Russian media, is scramjet reentry vehicle on top of ICBM that changes trajectory as approaches target from space with hypersonic speed. Another thing the USA officially don't have, are the several families of supersonic cruise missiles installed on all ships, subs, and bombers. While they differ between, they are a real danger for both US carriers and for a bomber attack with missiles that can travel 3000 km.

Laser tech, we know USSR tested such prototype in 1950s or 60s. We can only guess they installed some in space. Polyus space station called also MIR-2 was armed with laser and nuclear mines. Some Russian scientists said after the cold war, we had such fantastic projects you would never dream of. But we lacked money. As for ex. particle beam accelerator in orbit (like collider, only linear and shooting the earth or another spaceship). I don't know if Putin's government found money for those abandoned projects. As in a computer game (forgot the name) that you develop space civilization and have wars with others, you have credits to develop this type of heavy weapons, or that type of smart miniaturized weapons (as USA is doing now), or you can develop infrastructure mega projects, or galactic business. You are not given to do all at once. Perhaps that reflects the real world. If Russia has particle beam and laser weapons, it will suffice little all the computing power of USA.

HOW they both got such achievements in so short time is enigmatic. Perhaps help from outside Universe from different races? Then you have India and China who compete for their place, and some analysts say they both are quite successful. China reached to the Moon in no time.

I don't want to be a prophet of doom, but if the current trend preserves, the lucky ones who escape the nuclear winter will be in doomsday underground cities, or even more futuristic - off planet on some kind of ships provided from outside the earth.
