Yep. Was in response to a IL-20 Recon flight on their borders.

They have to, supposedly, give 24 hours notice. I wonder if they did.

I thought he said he was not in Ukraine and is in Canada with friends and family being in the Ukraine???

I think that was someone else that said they were in Canada. I searched Asen's posts in threads and didn't see any reference to that. If I understood correctly, Asen said he and his family are in western Ukraine about 2km from the border with Poland.

Strangely, I'm relieved to hear that . Things now are post-Kerry or Pre ! I'll remove it.

Questions for people who believe the Russian side of the story:

1. Russia claims that the Maidan protesters were paid by Germany. We know the FSB records cell phone calls, as proven by the release of the "____ the Europeans" tape. Where are the recordings/ intercepted emails/ surveillance camera footage to support this claim?

2. Russia claims that the are "protecting 'ethnic Russians.'" Where is there documentation of threats against the "Russian" population coming from the Kiyev government? Can they even find fringe elements like Svoboda making these threats? Why are there no videos of this attempted "ethnic cleansing?"

3. Russia claims that it has no troops operating outside of its bases. Why are the alleged Self Defense Force driving around in vehicles with Russian plates and explaining that they have to wait for orders from Moscow?

4. Russia claims that Yanukovych is still the legal president and has asked for Russia's assistance. Where is he?

5. Russia claims that Crimea has legally seceded from Ukraine and is now a legitimate "independent republic." What procedure was used to secede, and was it legal under the Ukrainian constitution.

6. Why are Russian flags being flown over buildings in regions that Russia claims are "independent?"

Any guesses?

Yeah, that's the way to do it... tell people how far you're not willing to go. I see Putin didn't make the same mistake, judging from the missile test.

Anyone know if there is a public link to current US Defcon condition (current meaning after the ICBM test)? I don't know if that's secret or not, but a number of sites claim that the US was at Defcon 5 on Saturday, March 2nd. That is the normal (lowest) Defcon condition.

No. We are not affiliated with any government agency and DWS does not represent the alert status of any military branch. Military DEFCON levels are secret. We don't know them and wouldn't report them even if we did as that would compromise US security.

Thank you, but that page is one of the ones that only shows the Defcon condition as of Saturday, March 2, 2014. Unless that means that it has not changed. A lot has happened since Saturday. I suspect that page is not updated in realtime.

Uh, the USSR hasn't existed for some time now. You'd think some one a some point would've updated the policy to reflect the Russian Federation.

Thanks. I had a feeling the current Defcon condition might be secret, and I can understand why it would be although I could also see that sometimes you might want to use it to send a message similar to Putin's ICBM message.
