sexual preference is not like being born black or a female. Sexual preference is just as the word says it is a preference, a choice.

So are you saying that you're openly attracted to members of the same gender but made a conscious decision to only sleep with the opposite gender irregardless of attraction or connection? Because that's exactly what you're implying gay or bisexual people do, make a conscious decision to be with someone knowing the difficulties with openly living that lifestyle as opposed to being interested in someone they are attracted to or feel a connection with.

I am not attracted to anyone of the same sex sexually. I have been happily married to a woman (opposite sex) for 17 years with three children now and life is great.
The natural world around us tells us what is right, you need a male and female to make babies. 2 males and 2females cant reproduce.

Now I like my men friends and have deep "connected" relationships with them but it is not sexual.

They have the knowledge but refuse to know the truth. If they have a sexual attraction to some one of the same sex there is a problem, it is called sin nature, and that nature goes against all truth.

desire and feelings are of a heart and can be misleading. the heart is wicked and deceitful above all measure who can know it.

If one is not taught how to have proper relationships I can see how they can become confused. Partial result is from lack of fathers in the home, lack of guidance in growing up, and a society that is rife with sinful behaviour that is pushed from media as being normal when it is not. And by a school system that tells you to be who you want to be at an age you cant even make proper decisions. Lack of true parenting is the root of this.

Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman, initiated by the exchange of vows.

Why cant you keep your damn mouth shut?

(Returns to corner affixes hat)
Yeah, about that..................

dictionary.reference.com...

Also, refer to the post you replied to (1st paragraph of my response to TheWrightWing) for the rest of my reply.

Tech,

the first book to use the word marriage in any language is the Bible. So go get a six grade English King James Bible and look at all the verse where marriage is used and via the context you will have the definition of marriage.

Sociomorphic dictionaries are ever changing by the men who are led by feeling and not by truth.

You really nailed it there. I remember 12 or 13 years ago when the "emo" music scene hit and suddenly it was trendy to be gay amongst some high school and college kids.

Can I just ask you to look at you post and instead of gay put African-American? Notice how that sounds a bit cringeworthy?

It's not that the gay community wants to ram their ideology down your throat like you seem to make it be. They just want a voice to be heard and want people to understand where they are coming from.

As a member of the LGBT community, I have no problem with you having an opinion, as long as it's rational and non-derogatory. But I would like to ask you to look up some accounts of LGBT people and imagine yourself in their shoes.

Terrified to go home- AnotherCloset

This is one I found, but there are many more through Google.

That said, we may make up a small part of a population, but you can't quiet us that easily.

I don't know how tolerable the societies you live are but all I see is anti gay militands everywhere!

2 months ago there was a vote in greek parliament for the gay marriage

right wing said yes,
socialists said yes,
left wing said yes,
the neo nazis said no
(yes in greece the neonazis have still a legal part in political scene besides the murders and beatings by their members of many communists, and immigrants the last few years)

Then the christian church spoke their known bs, and then the right wingers changed their mind and said no (fearing they would lose votes from christians)
and at the last moment, the voting results changed.

So in 2013 the church still chooses for you how you SHOULD live your life, becouse they've conviced people an imaginary man in the sky hates different people and behavours. and keep reminding the sinners they will burn in hell for ever....
Of course they didn't forget to excommunicate all gays as anathema, but thats not new since they've done the some for anyone who doesn't get married in a church.
(off-topic. some years ago they refused to baptize children with ancient greek names, cause ancients were pagan and thus evil satanists)

Are we still living in dark ages? .... YES definitely...

Why don't you make that thread?

Thank you for allowing me to have an opinion. Sorry if you do not find it rational.

That said, we may make up a small part of a population, but you can't quiet us that easily.

Who is trying to quiet you?

This is the problem. If anybody dares call out a few in your community.

I have questions about your leadership shaking down Corporate America.

Thanks for your attempt at censorship....

Why not redact marriage as a legal procedure and file it under the same heading as communion and confession?

Why the need to get upset about this? I like how you use the term shoving it down our throats, were you thinking of something Phallic when you wrote this.lol ... If it is not your cup of tea leave it alone. There are plenty of other things to worry about.

There was one sign for RP in town that I saw and a few bumper stickers. That's all I saw in this town and I almost never saw him on tele, what I watch of it, unless they were bashing him and his supporters. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but I saw almost nil RP during the election. I get the point but think that was the wrong example to use, at least from my perspective.

As for LGBT, I don't see how they are militant, but again, maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. Matter of fact, I know nothing of this militant agenda and have never come across it. Occasionally I'll see something posted here about it but for the most part, I don't see this in the real world. I might hear about this junk if I watched the news but I'd rather have my head popped off like a zit than watch the "news".

Like this recent Duck thing. I don't know what the show is about, never watched it and couldn't care less what some guy on the show has to say and whether it pisses anyone off or not. It's not news, to me, as there are stupid people everywhere and he's just another in a long line of stupids that get their name out there in one way or another.

My oldest step-son is gay and he's about as militant as a kitten. He himself say's the community as a whole suffers by the hands of a few. Where have I heard that before?...............EVERYWHERE & WITH EVERYBODY. As he said, "they don't speak for me" Well if you don't chime in..your lumped in with all the rest. Their own community should rein in the militants as you all call them...I just find it difficult to use the term " militant" when speaking of the Gay & lesbian community. It's like saying G.W. Bush was smart.

You must understand, FOR SOME people its a way to be histrionic and bring attention to themselves. For some people even negative attention, is still attention. Personally, someone's sexuality is more information than I require.

I'm sorry my (personally) morality is not dictated to me by a dictionary.
Great, but your morality has nothing to do with this, considering that marriage equality isn't immoral.

Now, I really shouldn't have to explain why two consenting adults entering a legal contract together isn't immoral, but I will if that's the case.

I've heard a lot of people say that marriage predates religion, but I haven't seen any proof that that's the case so I won't try to argue that point.

It's a nice fun fact about the definition of marriage, but it's not an actual argument, considering the marriage that I and many others are talking about is the legal institution.

I find it irrational that we the majority must listen and watch this promotion of the LGBT community as small as it really is.

Imagine yourself in a families shoes that has a mom dad and kids and they are struggling with life's issues, do they have a parade to show the world how bad it is?

No they do not, they deal with it without major publicity.

We have a gay couple that moved in next door to us a few years ago and its been hell ever since.

They demand their rights at every thing they don't like.
But what is forgotten is everyone's rights and not just the special groups rights, we are falling by the way side fast and sure.

I really had to think hard and long before posting here but, for example here is a thread I authored awhile ago just to show that I am not a drive by in this thread.

Then just ignore those who are acting like immature children about it. They are just the ones that make us look bad, we're not all flamboyant loafer-wearing, mesh-shirted screamers.

As for your statement about shaking down corporations, those are the same people who are like the PETA of the gay community. Just hot air and smoke.

Next you're going to say that all Muslims want to chop you to pieces even though you don't have a problem about what they believe.

You just have really crappy neighbors.

My stepdad is the same way (he of course, is a disagreeable person), as he likes to pick fights with our neighbours.

Why don't you be the better person and do little bits of kindness for them, like ask if you could clean their gutters. Perhaps they will be more inviting, have a beer with them?

Or better yet, if the moods don't change, ignore them.

You shouldn't be getting worked up over your neighbors just because they don't have the same lifestyle you have.

If you don't understand it you need to do the following, meet gay people, try to develop a friendship, go to a gay bar, pride parade, etcetera. It will scare the crap out of you. It's like talking to a nazi. Hitler never married or had children. Confirmed bachelor some might say. Merely a rumor he had a female friend named eva.
