Wow you are right, such a man would be sooo very evil. Except for one small problem. Papa Johns are individually owned franchises that pay 5% of their profits to the main corporation. Plus they also have to pay up to 7% of net sales for those advertising promos. So the big Papa says free pizzas for everybody, and the mom and pop franchise owner has to jump. Which may mean mom and pop don't get to pay their homes mortgage that month.

What part of 11 - 15 cents extra per pie to cover their employees didn't you catch?

I'm not going to no longer order pizza over a dime.

I really can't stand these type of people. They would have loved to live in the 1800s when you could abuse your workers and create monopolies legally.

What, you mean you don't want to pay the surcharge to help out the employees, and pay the tips too? And you think the owner is greedy. Take a look in the mirror. Or is this just typical liberal hypocrisy where someone else is always expected to pay the bill. So when every restaurant owner does this to survive Obamacare, will you stay at home and cook?

Or people could stop bashing those who are fighting by signing petitions to secede. Something has to be done or we will all stay on this govt leash.

Yeah, I will. Not only is cooking a hobby of mine but it's also a staple in my family. I know what goes in. There have been times where we needed some food and pizza is always a good choice.

I probably won't order papa johns again and here's why.

Run your business and don't bring attention to yourself. What gains could you possibly make by looking like a complete idiot in the public sector. Raise the prices by .10 cents, nobody will notice.

You gave me the impression that you were all for Obamacare and free Obamaphones. Thus why you were defending both.

Because I provided you accurate information about when free cell phones were established I am for free cell phones? Wow. Okay. Secondly, the healthcare act does not provide free insurance to employees. People who have no income have always had access to medical care ( Medicaid). So when you hate what you call Obamacare you are against providing insurance for: employees who have no insurance, people with preexisting medical conditions and college kids whose parents would have to pay for medical treatment out of their pockets. Finally, so that you are not confused of what I support here it is. I believe that anyone working 40 hours a week in this country should have access to healthcare. There is no valid reason that a country as innovative and prosperous as ours should deny medical care for it's working class. I do not hold contempt for anyone who is financially successful. My belief is that everyone should share the costs to uplift our country not just the working class. When the financially comfortable demand sacrifices from people who are already experiencing hardship yet do not make sacrifices themselves it is wrong and counter productive for the growth of a country.

Er um... you provided inaccurate information. I told you that fully paid cell phone service started in 2009. And provided you with a government document that detailed this.

But I am glad that you pointed out that health care will not be free. Just wait until every able bodied person sees that they will be forced to pay out of pocket. Even for those that qualify for employee sponsored insurance. Or how about this scenario... Say you work at a small pizza shop with 15 employees. They are exempt, so now you have to buy your own coverage or face a fine.

And if a taxpayer is forced to pay a single penny for Obamacare it is welfare. You do know that there will be government subsidies? If a person makes up to 400% of the poverty level, their insurance will be subsidized by tax payers. Medicaid will now also include folks up to 130% of the poverty level. So there will be additional people on medicare. Considering that Obama is racking up 1 trillion dollars in new debt every year, I would like to see where this money is going to come from. His arse?

Oh but this gets even better. You know those supplies that drive up health care costs? And those expensive drugs? They are going to have new fees and taxes to drive the costs up further.

But Obama does have some ideas for paying for this... Reducing Medicare! Medicare Advantage will be reduced by 200 billion dollars over 10 years. So many more elderly will be forced to purchase medigap insurance. But hey, they make $800 dollars a month to live on. They can afford it! Another way of paying for this is reducing Medicare home health care payments which will result in more folks requiring nursing homes or hospital care.

Well I wanted to know from the guy who wants the nanny state obamacare but won't patronize restaurants who tell them the rising cost of the meal will have to pay for the healthcare. I want to know why people want Obamacare but won't pull the cash out of their own pockets to pay. You see because the people who want Obamacare want someone else always to pick up the tab.

When every restaurant has to do the same we will find Obamacare isn't so fun.

It is funny, this idea that you can only target and tax a business owner and think he will not pass it on to a customer.
What makes so many people angry is that they think they have the right to target specific people and make them pay more out of fairness but they can never make it stick. It always gets distributed to the end consumer. If a business is taxed too heavily or loses enough profit then it goes out of business.

In the end it all comes down to math. The reality is that everybody knows why it costs more.
It just pisses people off to see the debit named after their side.

Normally I would set you strait however I already went over this about two pages ago and I shouldn’t need to restate my position because you missed it.

Maybe before you post about what someone said you could read the thread because you are so far off it should be embarrassing to you. However considering what I have read of your previous posts in this and other threads research and facts are not your strong suit or maybe you are willfully misinformed and ignorant.

Shoot first and aim later comes to mind when I read your posts well good luck with that.

SET ME STRAIGHT? oh excuse me while I LOL. You need a good spanking. You already claimed you won't go to the guy's restaurant because you won't pay the surcharge to pay for the employees and pay the tip too. What a great advocate you are. Obama should hire you as a consultant.

So I have to read the first pages of this thread to reply to your post? No, I don't think so. I know what's going on here, and it's all over the news too.

You got caught whining about the extra cost. If you want Obamacare repealed I will forgive you. If not, then suck it up and pay for what you voted for.

The guy is telling his customers to steal the 5% tax from the server....
That's the problem.

No, he is giving the customers the choice of paying for the healthcare or paying the tip also. I bet those people who work for him who voted for Obamacare will change their tune when they realize that nothing is free. Tips are supposed to be voluntary anyway, a reward for good service. Today people assume that the tip is practically mandatory. I myself have almost always given 20 per cent unless the service was really insanely horrible. I may go down to 15 % after this.
Voting has consequences.

The bashing isnt doing anyone, any good!

You are seeing the big picture. Can other folks truely not see the chaotic cascading affects that will be realized? I am going to stock up on everything imaginable before January. I figure I may as well get the goods before they go up in price. And I bet you are also. Good luck and I hope you are comfy enough to weather this storm.

Please find where I stated that. Where did I make it about the cost?

If that is what you took away from my post your reading comprehension is lower than I thought.

You have no idea what is going on and your follow up post proves that.

Obamacare is a tax on the people.

Putting your company in the headlines saying "our stuff will cost more because of Obamacare!" is a terrible way of running a business.

There are other ways of paying your burdens without being a complete drama queen. The pizza industry is the last place I'd assume would be crying foul. A pizza, some breadsticks and a bottle of soda will cost you 20 to 25 bucks where I live. That is literally insane! I could make the same pizza for 5 bucks.

These people have nothing to complain about. They are making bank.

You are saying you will take your business elsewhere. Because some news media said this guy is a jerk for adding a surcharge to pay for the healthcare you say you won't patronize his restaurants. It can only be for one reason, that you support Obamacare but you don't want to pay for what you voted for, you expect everyone to pay for it. If this guy is doing it, so will everyone. You can whine about how he is evil for making a statement, but it's going to happen anyway. Everyone will do this. When everyone does this, you will have only yourself and the rest of the Obama voters to blame.

I said I am not eating there. I will take my business somewhere else. Free market and all. Hopefully other people will as well and when business picks up in other restaurants they will hire more people. Free market at work.

Well, it's not entirely free market because govt forced him to pay for something. Voting has consequences and you asked for it.

If that is what you took away from my post your reading comprehension is lower than I thought.

My reading comprehension is just fine. You stated that you don't like the guy's politics of raising prices to pay for the govt forced healthcare and won't patronize him. This can only mean that you do not understand what Obama and the Progressives' socialist policies do in practice. You think he is a meanie for telling his customers that they can choose to pay extra for tips because the surcharge is necessary to stay in business. You now hate the business owner because of what govt is forcing him to do.
If you are unwilling to pay for the extra surcharge that of course is your privelege, but you must understand that if you were for Obamacare that is what you are getting.

Yes, Obamacare is a tax on everyone. But people voted for it because they think they will get something for free. The Democrats have lied to the people about this. And when the consequences come down the pike, the liberals are screaming about how the evil capitalists are just greedy pigs.

Don't you see?

Restaurants have a very low profit margin. It's about 8%, so no they are not making bank. Do you have any idea how many expenses there are involved in owning a restaurant besides just the food?
