Perhaps you mean of atmospheric criction heating something as it falls?

If that is the case then it is not really relevant to ice and rain - they fall much too slowly to be heated by the friction.

They do sometimes evaporate before hitting the ground though - that is called virga - it is quite easy to see. The evaporation of virga is due to the temperature & humidity of the atmosphere - not atmospheric friction.

However, you still didn't answer my question...why were there NO TRAILS left behind the plane that just passed by???? 1st one all day! And no.....i'm no where CLOSE to an airport. And yes, it was APPROXIMATELY the same distance as yesterday's set of planes...that were constant...all day long!

I did answer it - I'll answer it again - if atmospheric conditions are not suitable for the formation of contrails then you do not get contrails, and when they are suitable you do get contrails.

I heard that 4 years ago.

Don't you be so naive as to think that I and others haven't looked long and hard at the chemtrail phenom.

As far as 9/11 goes I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss that one, there are question marks for sure, big ones. But this thread isn't about 9/11 or eugenics etc.

In all seriousness, you're damn right.

Man, please! It's a lot deeper than that. Sure, your science says one thing, while it's "researching" something else. Excuse me for being so damn skeptical, regarding the plans of the "elite", ptb, or whatever the heck you want to call them.

If "science" was so wonderful.....when do we get to enjoy it's beauty; besides with I-pods and stuff. Where is all this science being applied.........for OUR benefit??? Please do...explain? Science didn't help with my mom's cancer, it didn't help with my friend's child's autism; it hasn't helped alzheimers. It hasn't reduced starvation. It really hasn't done anything, we couldn't live without! Has it?

You know what happens to REAL scientists...like Tesla??? Need i continue?

Just curious, have you verified that the earth is round yet? Or do you hold the flat and round earth theories in equal weight, until you get round to checking it?

What about the germ theory of disease, have you verified that?

We build upon the work of others. Sure you can verify things, but you don't need to verify everything.

Exactly the point.

As I have nothing against Islam, so I have nothing against science. In the case of both, however, the majority of those who claim to be its' most ardent and fanatical disciples, are generally also those who are in fact the greatest infidels of the faith which they profess. I will no longer tolerate what I quite seriously view as science's answer to Al Qaeda.

That would be the intellectual tyranny of science that brings you the electricity that runs the computer...and the computer itself....that yuo wrote this on? That brings you your car, and clean water?

That says that claims need to have some good evidence to be accepted?

so you reject that - you're saying you are better off accepting unsupported assertion and unproveable claims that often result in poverty, crime, diseas and death, rather than stuff that can actually be verified and which enables you to live he life you live?

just checking if that is the tyranny you are referring to??

BTW I'm sure you won't like it - but as an atheist I have a very good idea of my own self worth - moreso I think because I do not need any magical fairy to reveal it to me.

Just sayin'

Well, chemtrails fits into the big picture of eugenics...so...let's not dismiss it. And, you may have heard it 4 years ago....but it doesn't mean it isn't already going on. Conveniently enough.....this list seemed to get buried in utter NON-SENSE. So tell me, why were they seeking Patents on ways to make clouds, fog, mist and other goodies, that have come to fruition, in 2012.

Dude, science is anything involved with understanding the world around us.

There are as much good things science has given us as there are bad things, it depends on your perspective.

Yes, I do consider the Earth to be round. I've seen photographs of the Earth from space, and some of said photographs dated from a time before photographic tampering was easily achievable.

However, it is not merely a case of accepting it on the basis of someone else's photographs. My own reason tells me that the Earth would have to be round; if it were not, I would have expected to hear or see accounts of ships and other things falling off the edge of it.

It can also be verified by looking at a number of the other natural objects that we've been able to see; spiral galaxies, as one example, to see that the circular shape (or the torus) is one of the fundamental shapes which Nature uses, for the design of things. The Moon is circular, and if you look into meteorology at all, you will quickly see how a circular shape is necessary for the circulation of the air and water around the planet.

I cannot see how our weather system would be possible, if the Earth were a flat plane, and I truthfully cannot even see how that theory is compatible with what is directly observable on the ground. Are mountains and vallies flat? They are not; so truthfully, the flat Earth does not really exist anywhere at all.

So far, I don't see anything solid, but that's me. Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence and so on.

Boy, i'm sorry...i didn't know we couldn't live without electricity. Yup...science at it's best. Hey, i got a computer...but no food on the table. hahahahahaha friggin' today's moron.

So, again, i ask...when does science start to benefit US? If i had to chose between, food and electricity....which do you think i'd prefer? And, how EXACTLY has science helped solve today's hunger problems? There's still people, all around the world...dying of starvation. Where is all this SCIENCE, you speak of?

OH, i forgot.........they work for Monsanto. My bad!

Some of you people are so ignorant, it's sickening!!! WE can spend Trillions of dollars to send our fancy satellites up in space, to take pictures; and we still can't even feed hungry people. Yeah....thumbs up, to us EARTHLINGS!

We should be depopulated with that mentality!

It's ok, most skeptics aren't bigots like yourself and are able to take on any and all opinions regardless of their religious beliefs.

You can't.

You are filled with hate and repugnance towards anyone atheist and you somehow continue to get away with it despite the fact that ATS has been cracking down on hate speech...

This is sarcasm, again intended as a form of condescension, and it is again rejected.

It is entirely because of the fact that I am aware of what happened to at least some of the individuals who were responsible for these inventions, that I reject the circle jerk.

You confuse the gnat swallowing pedantry, the worship of academia, and the relentless lack of integrity of insectoid, narrow minded, armchair atheists, with actual science. The two things are fundamentally unrelated.

For most atheists to attempt to wrap themselves in the proverbial flag of science, is as much a hollow, vile, hypocritical farce, as it is for most Christians, who in an argument, will insist on equating disagreement with them, and fundamental disagreement with and rejection of God.

Boeing and Airbus are still getting some patents for strange ideas as of 2008, and at least 1 of this site's 10 wierdest inventions for 2011 is noted as being "patent pending".

You've seen nothing "solid"...and you live on this planet?
Didn't 26 states declare a drought recently? What's that got to do with Chemtrails?
You'll figure it out.

PS....He that controls the weather, rules the world! Question is: can we control the weather? Answer: ABSOLUTELY! Science my friend, science! It's a double edged sword.

PSS...if TPTB cared.....we would all have free electricity. But, they don't give a sh*t about you or your family. I guess that's not solid enough, right?

Well if it was a binary choice with no other considerations tehn not staving to death is certainly an attractive proposition.

And, how EXACTLY has science helped solve today's hunger problems? There's still people, all around the world...dying of starvation. Where is all this SCIENCE, you speak of?

It is on every western farm, and many in 3rd world countries too.

The economic system that allows science to increase food production so there is more than enough to feed everyone, and yet stops the food from beign distributed to al those who need it is the problem here - not eth science.

OH, i forgot.........they work for Monsanto. My bad!

Some of you people are so ignorant, it's sickening!!! WE can spend Trillions of dollars to send our fancy satellites up in space, to take pictures; and we still can't even feed hungry people. Yeah....thumbs up, to us EARTHLINGS!

as I said - we produce plenty of food - it is the people who dont' like the idea of distributing it to those who need it that are the problem - apparently it is more important to maintain prices to farmers and that sort of thing than to feed starving millions.

After all giving food to the needy is so socialist......whereas price support for western farmers isn't...somehow......

We should be depopulated with that mentality!

Indeed

Alright try this: instead of the word 'science' use the word 'understand'.

If you're on a ship it's our understanding(science) of buoyancy that keeps that big hunk of steel from sinking and you having to swim for your dinner.

If you're on a plane...well you know what I mean.

People demonize science because of the semantical connotations its brings into their minds, and that's a damn shame. The human race needs science, it's what we do, science is our brains at work.
