So you're using someone elses opinion on the movie to counter my opinion? That makes perfect sense because everyone knows HIS opinion is the right one.

So, you didn't bother to read the critique? Do you think that credibility comes from such a simplistic refutation?

Future visitors to your thread will look at that reference, look at your response, and laugh.

Yes there is, you just refuse to see it.

Can I ask you a question? Are you religious in any way?

I am a seeker and testifier of truth. I am disliked by the religious and the irreligious equally, lol.

Though, to be honest, most of them simply think themselves religious and irreligious.

Check this link out, if you're ambitious.

www.search-the-scriptures.org...

Do you think that the fact that Biblical stories align with the procession of the equinox is just a coincidence?

I don't watch videos, as a rule. Please summarize and add your own thoughts to it, if you would -- it is impossible to debate with a YouTube video.

ore

That is interesting, as I have asked this question before on ATS.
No-one really knows, that's for sure.
I believe that it was during Sumerian times or even before.
I also looked at Genesis for clues and I believe that what it says there about multiple gods descending from the heavens and mating with earth's women is probably factual.
This could have created a race of 'super-beings" who could well have become the religious leaders of their time.

I am not a Christian, I prefer the old (jewish) testament to the new (christian) one.
I am not Jewish, nor Muslim.
I have read a translated version of the Qu'ran.
Thus I cannot be a heretic, just call me an agnostic with an inquisitive mind.

You didn't answer my question. Stop sidestepping it. It is a simple yes or no answer. Do you believe what the bible says is true?

Wow this is going to be interesting. I guess I will start with facts. You say..

Ok, now to the point of how religion keeps us separated from god. Religion teaches us that in order to get to heaven, we must believe in god, and in order to reach heaven, you must first die and leave this universe. This is a lie, and the fundamental way in how religion keeps us seperate from god.

My first question is What Religion Are You Talking About? Your thread title "The True story behind the bible"
is interesting since the bible is not a religion.

All mainstream religion. A god seperate from our universe means we separate from god by by its own description.

But the bible was edited and put together in order to form the religion of christianity. Some books were even edited out completely in order to make the bible what it is now.

That is not a valid question, but I'll make the leap and assume what you really mean -- no, I am not a fundamentalist, rather, I am a pragmatist. Truth is what it is, not what you want it to be.

What is your version of the truth then? What do you believe the truth is?

I already summarized the video in my post which you rejected. The video explains the procession of the equinox, which you clearly don't understand.

It's only 1:34. Is it the time it takes to watch or is it that you're not able to view videos?

No, I am saying that the bible in its current form is the result of religion.

You are sadly mistaken .. Tell me what you think causes religion. What ingredients make up "Religion"?

So you're saying that the bible in its current form is not the result of religion? I think you are the one sadly mistaken here.

What exactly are you trying to get at? Make your point already.
