Anyone who thinks the US and its citizens, or any country for that matter, doesn't have the right to keep people out is a hypocrite.

Do you live in a house? Well then how dare you have a door and keep people out of your house. Everyone should be welcome, especially if they are hard workers, right.

Oh, I love this one...I'm surprised it took so long for someone to pull it out.

You do know there is a difference between public and private property...right?

For any American citizen that says they are proud for the freedome the United States represents...that they are proud for living in the best country on eary...for anyone who says this and then says to others "But not you...this is for us only...not you"....is a hypocrite.

Again. No credibility. You have been arguing that we should let the illegals just live in peace. And now you say its ok to make them sign their name before coming in. That is the hole point. You are as wishy washy as a politition. A nd now your going to call the Colonists that founded our country Morons? Dude.. I am starting to think you are not even American. You are a total moron yourself sir. Period.

Are you against a streamlined immigration policy?

One where people just simply have to check in at the border to enter our country?

Not sure why you say I'm wishy washy...this has been my position the entire time...I know from dealing with you in the past that you have very poor reading comprehension and worse logical skills...but seriously..I have said this since page one.

Yep.. Go to any McDonalds down my way and instead of high school kids they are full of immigrant workers. I wont say illegal on that because I am assuming that if McDonalds hired them they are probably legal but I bet they are still working for minimum wage and those jobs are not going to a local high school kid.

And how do you know they are "immigrants"???

Do they wear a sign?

Really? BECAUSE THEY ARE MEXICAN AND THEY ALL SPEAK SPANISH. Is that clear enough? I didnt say illegal immigrants. You really are grasping at straws here. You gonna call me racist now for making that assumption?

So all Mexicans that speak spanish are immigrants???

Your ignorance is almost beautiful.

To me it's simply a fairness issue. All of us are products of immigration except for the native Americans and black slaves. My point is if we have laws we either follow them or we don't. You can't just pick and choose the ones you want to follow and the ones you don't.

As for the labor market, the illegal immigrants have a definite advantage. Coming from nothing in most cases they will work for next to nothing. What happens then is you have citizens displaced because the illegals will work for a fraction of the cost, with not benefits. You also have a large number of illegals who milk the system for government benefits they shouldn't be entitled to.

Seriously? So your saying we should become a third world country where our workers are forced to accept sub par working conditions, less pay and more work in order to still not be able to afford to put food on the table because the price of basic commodities is such that sub minimum wage cant pay for it? Hell your president has already damaged our global credit rating. Why not stick us in the 3rd world country status while he is at it.

That all goes away with making legaly entry legal and making hiring undocumented workers extremely expensive to employers.

But you have already said you don't support making it any easier....so you are just going to continue to cry about it while not supporting the solution.

You are totally insane. I know you wont answer this because you didn't answer it last time and have really yet to answer any question that has been asked hardly. But would you work for less than minimum wage?

If I had to, I absolutely would work for less than minimume wage.

I honestly don't even see the dilemna...if I need money to feed my family...I'm going to take any work I can find.

It is hilarious that this is a foreign concept to you...unless it is served on a silver platter...you aren't interested. Again...my initial point is perfectly illustrated by your attitude of entitlement.

This country has worked long and hard over the years to better itself. Our citizens shouldnt have to work for less than minimum wage and that is the whole point. If the illegals came here Legally and worked through the system the wages would have to come back up and people could afford those jobs. There is a reason minimum wage is there and there is a reason it is as high as it is. Its called Inflation. Read about it.

It is our fellow countrymen that are hiring "illegals" and paying them less than minimum wage. "illegals" didn't come here and force someone to pay them low wages...they came here because an American citizen was willing to pay them low wages.

Why don't you focus your hatred on them???

Maybe you should read again before you call me ignorant. I didnt say they were all rapists. My point was that some of them do commit very bad crimes. But ALL of them have committed a Felony by being here illegally.

Nope...all of them have not committed a Felony.

You just continue to show your ignorance.

Continue on with your demonization and hate mongering.

Again. You obviously dont live anywhere near these people you speak of. They have taken over large sections of the suburbs and THEY put spanish all over the small businesses and shops they have opened. The fly their flag on their cars, out in front of their shops, all over the mobile restaurants they open. There are no companies involved here. And if you go to that area of town and try to go into one of said shops, you will need to speaks spanish. Again, you dont know what you are talking about and you obviously dont live where there is any sort of immigrant population.

So...now not only are "illegals" taking low paying manual labor jobs...they now have businesses.

It's not illegal to speak a different language..it's not illegal to have signs in different languages.

And even if English became the "official" language...it still wouldn't be illegal for those stores to have those signs or for people to speak the language. All it would mean is that government documents are only legally required to be in English. It actually would do nothing.

Maybe you should just learn Spanish...broaden your horizons and improve yourself by learning a second language.

I'd also advise you not to ever visit a large city...and god forbid you ever find yourself in an authentic Chinese restaurant...your head might explode.

I do not recall history showing that those people were sneaking across the Southern Border.

No, they came through the wide open Eastern Border.

Does it matter which border an immigrant comes through???

It is a comparison.
Migrating through the open Eastern Border LEGALLY, or sneaking over the Northern/Southern Border ILLEGALLY.

You have already been shown for the fraud that you are in this topic.
You skip around and cherry pick topics to respond to.

Sure glad you "Love" this one because much of that land on the southern border is NOT public land. It is Private land and in the United States we call that "Trespassing" and if I read these laws correctly that you are so quick to try and turn into a misdemeanor. Committing other crimes while here Illegally pretty quickly puts this into Felony status. Doesnt it? But to say that all of that land on the border is Public property is a joke. I would have to say that they cross a lot of private property.

I don't hate immigrants, but I don't like the fact that Mexican and other Central/South American nationals cross into our country illegally. I understand they want to make decent money for themselves and family, but why not do it the legal way? and become a U.S citizen?

Because the "legal" way can take up to 10 years and cost thousands of dollars.

Now when your family is starving and you are watching your kids slowly die...do you really think you have 10 years to wait? And since you are already poor...where are you going to get the thousands of dollars to pay to become legal?

You're spinning a broken record.

NO ONE listens to that point and instead, people take out their hatred/frustrations on illegals and even legals in some cases.

Hell, refugees get # from the locals despite the fact that the locals crowd the court dockets/crime stories, not the other way around!

It's amazing to me that people won't place the blame on the American citizens who are hiring the "illegals".

But if they did that...they couldn't demonize the immigrants and spread the hate that they want to.

I Love you you always resort to personal attacks on people. I am glad to see i am dealing with someone of character and not just your average child. You have to admit you have gone back and forth on this thread. I am of the position that we need to make people obey the law. Why is that so hard? I have to obey the law, you have to obey the law, every citizen is suppose to obey the law so why should they not have to? Why do you think they should get a free pass?

But attacking me personally is childish and rude and seems to be the defense of the weak. You realize that every time you personally attack someone you are making yourself look silly.

No, you did not read the laws correctly...not a surprise.

I would try to explain it to you...but I honestly dont' think you have the capacity to understand it.

Again, Personal attacks. I live in Oklahoma so yes. You have to be blind to not realize that if someone were born here and not an immigrant they would more than likely speak the language. I dont think it is possible that you are that naive. Your just being silly now. I didnt say Illegal. I said Immigrant.

The premise of that question is that immigration into another country is a right; excessive regulation of that right then becomes an acceptable reason for allowing disobedience toward such regulation.

Your premise is incorrect; immigration is not a right, and never has been

Nice little strawman to go with your previous false dichotomy.

He never said it was a "right"...you just manufactured a false arguement, dodging the original question, so you could refute your own manufactured argument.

Where in my post did I imply that immigration was a right?

I'm trying to say that if people could afford to come over legally, they would do so. Because they cannot, they risk life and limb just to come over illegally. Who profits? The smugglers. Who turns the blind eye here? The U.S Government.

You didn't...but he couldn't answer your question, like he couldn't answer most of mine, so he made up an argument himself and argued against that.

It's called being illogical...and he has it down to an art.

Of course there are good mexicans, there are also those who come here illegaly displacing american citizens in the workforce. Citizens are struggling and suffering because of uncontrolled illegal immigration. Citizens want a better life too, but arn't getting it. It is one thing to have sympathy and compassion for foreigners as we do, it is quite another to ignore the plight of the american citizen and what it is doing to them.

Stop blaming all your problems on other people.

If someone can't find a job...that is their problem...not the problem of someone who is willing to work harder, longer, and for less pay. Anyone can go and do exactly what they are doing...but most Americans feel too entitlted to do the jobs immigrants do.

There are thousands of people here legally, who went through all the proper channels and waited their turn. Sure, everybody comes here for "a better life", but does that desire erase the fact that they are breaking our sovereign laws and flaunting it in our faces?

Well said, and... repeated on ATS a thousand times. It is beyond me that anyone can disagree with a plain statement like this.
