No. Mitt's father was born in Mexico to American parents living at a Mormon Colony in Mexico. Feel free to start another birther conspiracy though...

I have a question. Was this posted online where we could read it before it was passed? Remember that transparency thing? I would like for the politicians that are ok with all this illegal migration to come live down here in the middle of it. Buy a house in one of the areas of town that is completely overrun. You can get them really cheap and the few Americans that still live in those areas do so because they cant sell their houses for anything close to what is owed on them. They are like locusts, They overrun an entire area of town and turn every parking lot into a mobile restaurant and every store front has Spanish writing. And when I go over that way for anything I quickly become the minority and am looked at like a freak for being there. I am sure where they live its a little bit nicer. Its convenient to let them in for votes when you dont have to watch your city turn into little mexico.

This isn't a bill...it's an enforcement policy.

And thanks for letting your racism shine through...always good to know what we are dealing with.

Ahh.. yes call me racist. That helps. That is a whole other thread and I let my views be known there. Your welcome to search for it. I have no problem with people who show respect, follow the laws and and show some amount of appreciation for others. But I invite you to come live right in the middle East Tulsa which use to be a nice area, I grew there. You will find that people fly Mexican flags on their cars, Look at you hateful, Act all tough like they want to start fights with you, they destroy home values by not upkeeing the ones they live in. Its not a race problem. its a respect problem. If mexico was so nice and they love it so much why are they here? Stop flying their flag and start working on becoming citizens of this country. And Mexican is not a race. That is a country. Figure out what racism is before you start calling someone racist.

Obama has made an offensive and insulting decision to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. What of us legal immigrants and children of legal immigrants who had to wait in line, follow the rules, and jump through all the legal hurdles to get here?

Why bother following the rules? Are rules now something to ignore? What about the rest of the laws, should we all ignore the remaining laws?

www.cnn.com...

Obama administration to stop deporting some young illegal immigrants

What a disgusting and offensive administration. Obama seriously SUCKS as a president and SUCKS as a leader.
You are an idiot.

If you bothered to read the statement you will see it only applies to those who were brought here by their parents and not of their own machinations. Their parents broke the law, not them. They have been living in the country for the majority of their lives. Most of them speak only English and have been through our public education system. They are as American as anyone born here. To deport them because of their parent's actions is a horrendous proposal.

Could Mitt Romney be America's first Hispanic president?

Que? You didn't know that Mitt Romney was half-Mexican? It's true. In fact, if he makes it to the White House, in addition to becoming the first Mormon in the Oval Office, he could also be the nation's first Hispanic president.

He's appealing to the Hispanic vote. If you don't think that this is the purpose of his actions then you are very delusional. Hispanic vote is, for the most part, undecided, so if Obama appears to be more accepting of illegal immigrants, who are mostly from Mexico, he will win more votes from them.

Non Violent Misdemeanor? How do you figure? Illegal Immigration is a Federal Offense.

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;

has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

By definition...every action a politician makes will either get him votes or lose him votes...because people will agree with it or not.

I really don't think the Hispanic vote is undecided for the most part...the majority will vote for Obama...he is just trying to secure a larger majority than he already has.

It would be nice if people would fact check. This is the wiki on Mitt's dad, George Romney,

Romney's grandparents were polygamous Mormons who fled the United States with their children owing to the federal government's prosecution of polygamy.[1][2] His maternal grandfather was Helaman Pratt (1846–1909), who presided over the Mormon mission in Mexico City before moving to the Mexican state of Chihuahua and who was the son of original Mormon apostle Parley P. Pratt (1807–1857).[3][4][2] In the 1920s, Romney's uncle Rey L. Pratt (1878–1931) played a major role in the preservation and expansion of the Mormon presence in Mexico and in its introduction to South America.[5] A more distant kinsman was George Romney (1734–1802), a noted portrait painter in Britain during the last quarter of the 18th century.[6]
Romney's parents, Gaskell Romney (1871–1955) and Anna Amelia Pratt (1876–1926), were American citizens and natives of the Territory of Utah. They married in 1895 in Mexico and lived in Colonia Dublán in Galeana in the state of Chihuahua (one of the Mormon colonies in Mexico) where George was born on July 8, 1907.[1][4][7] They practiced monogamy[1] (polygamy having been abolished by the 1890 Manifesto, although it persisted in places, especially Mexico).[8] George had three older brothers, two younger brothers, and a younger sister.[9] Gaskell Romney was a successful carpenter, house builder, and farmer who headed the most prosperous family in the colony,[10][11] which was situated in an agricultural valley below the Sierra Madre Occidental.[12] The family chose U.S. citizenship for their children, including George.[12]

Mitt doesn't have 1 drop of Mexican blood in him, nice of him to try to pander though.

Maybe you should look at the actual penalties for improper entry.

From the actual US Code.

uscode.house.gov... 0%20%281325%29%29%3ACITE%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20

(b) Improper time or place; civil penalties
Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to
enter) the United States at a time or place other than as
designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil
penalty of -
(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or
attempted entry); or
(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of
an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under
this subsection.
Civil penalties under this subsection are in addition to, and not
in lieu of, any criminal or other civil penalties that may be
imposed.

Sorry...no jail time for improper entry...try again.

Quit cherry picking just the part you want. That is the Civil portion. I am talking about the FEDERAL portion. Illegal immigration is a Federal crime. You might have noticed I typed that already. Here is a source that i would hope you can find credible.

FEDERAL LAW

President Obama has got pandering written all over his face. He is getting creamed on domestic issues like the economy and jobs. However, this approach does not make any sense to me? It seems he is willing to disrespect the citizens who are struggling to find work, and extend an olive branch to a bunch children from illegal immigrants? Moreover, he is breaking the law and so is Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano. His "Dream Act," is still being kicked around the legislature. He has got to wait for his legislation to pass as any President does. If it does not pass? So be it! Lick your wounds and come up with a better idea.

These kids of illegal immigrants are going to have go through the motions as any immigrant would do. If the President wants to amend the immigration law or even set the stage for amnesty? Send his legislation to Congress. Checks and balances! None of this under-the-table garbage!

Well he didn't sell this American out...I'm proud of this move by him.

His vision of America seems to closely match mine...a country where people can come to find a better life.

Tell me...does Obama's actions match this lovely poem or not?

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

I think what Obama did is the epitome of American...I'm sorry you don't share the same view.

Nice try! Seems to me back then we were able to handle it that was a very true and honorable statement! To say that now is just adding to the problem, when we can't even take care of our own, let alone roll out the welcome mat to just excellerate the destruction of our country!!!

You must be trolling. There's no way you could be this uninformed.

Hispanic refers to having genetic or ancestral origin in SPAIN. Hispanic = Spanish = from Spain. Get it?

Many Mexicans can rightfully claim to be Hispanic because they are related to the Spanish conquistadors from the colonial era. However, not all Mexicans are Hispanic. Mexico is a different country than Spain.

Romney is English, German and Scottish. He has no Spanish in him, and is therefore not Hispanic.

If you want to imply that Romney is somehow 'foreign' because his father was from Mexico, then you would say he's Mexican, not Hispanic.

However, both would be false, because he is really English, German and Scottish.

And THAT is how ethnicity works.

(Sorry for following a completely off-topic line of conversation it just physically hurts me to see somebody be so wrong about something so simple)

-ponders for a moment-

What would Reagan do?

or rather...what did he do?

Right...the father of the conservative party believed in amnesty.

I said it before, will say it again, todays conservatives have forfitted Reagan as being their guy...when you diametrically oppose the person you say you follow, then guess what, your not following him.

Will call him a liberal democrat then (considering all it needs to be is left of trucknuts insane right fringe to be given that title).

As far as the ops and his opinion on the administration:
from a thread you penned awhile back:
Here

The country has made a huge left turn towards socialism. There's talk of global currency and a new world order. There's talk of the Amero, and bankruptcy of the Federal government in next year. Blue states will roll over and let this happen.

Time to remake America and defend the Constitution.

Your opinion doesn't count...it doesn't matter what Obama did or does, you oppose it simply on principle..even if Obama made a suggestion to not kick kittens, you would demand kitten kicking is the true love of America and Obama is an evil person for suggesting otherwise.

Hows that Amero working out for ya since the fed went bankrupt in 09?
