Exactly...that's why I posted in reply to someone who said Bush was to blame for the Patriot Act.

So what is your point?

This is the political madness forum here and we do talk about politics and that's the way the partisan cookie crumbles.

More smoke and mirrors and diversionary tactics by our benevolent legislators. Okay, there is a disparity in the pay range between male and females. I agree with the OP. There is more important things to focus on. A 16 trillion dollar deficit, unfunded liabilities, a spend crazy central bank, and an economy that continues to stagger along. What is wrong with them?

I am not only singling out the Democrats, but the Republicans as well. They both got a lot of work to do, but they are focusing on special interest issues like this one among others? There is a "Sword of Damocles," hanging over this country, and our legislators want to pander back and forth about useless nonsense that should be focused on at another time? The OP is right, and his argument should not be considered partisan. The crap storm heading our way is going to affect everyone. People ought to start holding their legislator's feet to the fire, because the stuff they are pulling is absolute nonsense! Dereliction of duty, and shirking their core responsibilities. In other words, they are not doing their jobs. Plain and simple!

Agreed Third...what the Union lovers can't see is that their beloved unions are job killers....the huge salaries, bullying, perks etc......I still think they are more to blame than the big bad corporations...they are no better than the mafia or insurance companies....just middle men taking a cut they don't deserve.

There was a time the unions served a purpose a changed this country, that time has passed....time to move on.

That WAS the topic!

Pay attention, neo!!!

The new topic is ‘how can antone buy into the false right/left paradigm?’ and ‘don’t you see that the republicans and democrats are all the same?’ and etc, etc, etc……

Same old tune when someone points out liberal hypocrisy!

A group of Democratic female senators on Wednesday declared war on the so-called “gender pay gap,” urging their colleagues to pass the aptly named Paycheck Fairness Act when Congress returns from recess next month. However, a substantial gender pay gap exists in their own offices, a Washington Free Beacon analysis of Senate salary data reveals.

Sounds legit right? Until you realize that the same people calling for action are some of the worst offenders!!

Of the five senators who participated in Wednesday’s press conference—Barbara Mikulski (D., Md.), Patty Murray (D., Wash.), Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) and Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.)—three pay their female staff members significantly less than male staffers.

This bogus “War on Women” that dems are accusing the republicans of is actually an exercise in hypocrisy.

Murray, who has repeatedly accused Republicans of waging a “war a women,” is one of the worst offenders. Female members of Murray’s staff made about $21,000 less per year than male staffers in 2011, a difference of 35.2 percent.

I have an idea…why don’t you get your own house in order before you criticize others?? As the saying goes - If you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones!

Why is this even an issue for congress now? Is the economy fixed already? Is unemployment back to 4%? Is our national debt under control already? This is a non-issue for me. We face bigger problems in this country right now.

One look at those female politicians one can understand why they're so frustrated. Forgiven.

Typical "liberal" defense tactic.

When their wrong doinfs are pointed out and exposed, they just claim it's
a) the same as republicans
b) Bush's fault
c) Bring out the "left-right?" It's all the same.

When are liberals going to just say, "Our leadership sucks!"

I see, so you agree that the guys who are posting anti Obama remarks and defending the GOP are neoconservatives and RINOS?

NOPE! I’m saying that all people who disagree with Obama aren’t the GOP!

Thanks for the response!

Any time!

I still think women should be paid equal pay for equal work

and you did not answer my last post to you on this thread

I agree that they should….it’s just not an important issue RIGHT NOW! Do you think there are more important issues in this coming election besides equal pay??

If women got paid more, they could spend more and businesses would have to hire

more people.

All I’ve seen is the debt rising!

WHY??? HOW COULD THAT BE???

It's not about Dem or Rep, in reality it's about the people they work for... They'll say anything to get you to buy more slavery for yourselves.

He has a point

The tax cuts Bush passed were supposed to create jobs - those taxs cuts are still in effect and

they are not creating jobs, or are they?

Actually there are nearly million new jobs since the economy fell off the cliff -

Are all those jobs due to tax cuts?
