Soldiers: "You (civilians/countrymen) Are Not Worth Fighting For!!!"

You have my greatest respects and regards, it can not be an easy job, the job of the physically/mentally strong warriors, but it's now time to fight for what you know is right.
IF what you are doing feels right then you are doing exactly what you are supposed to. Be proud of yourself and have faith in yourself.
I hope that when your time is done with the military they look after you better than previous military personell.

My husband and I watched a program the other night (one of those real life situation shows, let me tell you normally we avoid them like the plague, but we were interested in this one) it was on an American Naval Carrier, with some 3000 odd people working it.

We felt sorry for them and angry for them, they were bored, confused, upset, angry people doing exactly the same job day in day out 7 days a week with no relief from their caged existence.
Some commented, they had no idea what they were there for, others were consumed with thoughts of home, babies, wives, parents.
Jar Head made me feel the same way, sort of like psychological warfare on it's own people.

Only one said
"I trained for 4 years to destroy something, I haven't done it yet and I want to, it's what I trained for"

please do not fight for me...because not once do you fight for me....you fight for a government who pretends to speak on behalf of the people.....just like in ww2....TPTB created a depression...WHY?

Because the best way to fill an army is to fill it with disillusioned youth .....Are you some dumb ass out there ...no...you are trained soldiers...who for some reason think you are doing the right thing on the peoples behalf....yet if those same people were rioting in the streets of your own country and you were called in to deal with them....would you shoot if told too....Most likely...as you are a soldier just doing your job.....

you see where i am going with this.....Never ever ,,,,say you fight on my behalf....as i am not a sheep....sheep follow the flock...and by doing as your told you are following the flock.....so who really is the sheep.....the ones who protest against the atrocities of the government....or the ones whom actually believe they are doing the right thing by the government......you decide.

I fight for peace.....and peace NEVER comes through war.....Do you think there was peace....since ww1....or since ww2.....not one day on this planet earth has there been peace....where there has not been any one group not fighting someone for some reason.....

so please....stand up ....and stop fighting...but stop fighting for the right reasons....stop fighting for the sheep.

learn to be a wolf and stand apart.... fight for what is right and not for all the wrong reasons......A government saying we are going to war is the wrong reason....so please again...tell me who the sheep are.....are the sheep soldiers who blindly fight because that is what they are told.....or are they the ones who stand up and fight the governments for starting the wars.

Sheep listen to all the crud coming through the airwaves.....and actually believe it.....sheep are the ones who blindly follow religions because believe what they are being told.....sheep will let the dogs of war collect them into pens and slaughter them because they are afraid.

so now that you have been trained...and have these skills.....why not use them for the right reasons instead of being part of the problem.....why not learn who the real enemies are and learn to fight them from within.....why not learn that we all human....and that the sheep only kill because they are being told to kill.

However, if you are truly in the military, I thank you for that. It is difficult to distinguish posers from do'ers around this joint. As a soldier, I know you would do whatever it took to protect the man next to you. However, in my past profession, I too took a jaundiced outlook towards those I was protecting but I always knew what I had to do even for the people I didn't like. That was because doing what I had to do also protected those I did care for and respect. Not everyone fits into the same shoe.

This thread should make it very clear why we had to evict the British military from our country.

In all seriousness, I am not sure most people are worth fighting for. You fight for your family, friends and causes. Some of us appreciate and respect that, and consider your sacrifice by trying not to take what you do for us for granted. But what do you gain from provoking those who oppose not you but the decisions of those who command you?

Nothing. Maybe just a momentary relief from venting.

Seek those who share or appreciate your burden. If you think you have to fight your own countrymen, and harbor that kind of general anger, you need either help or support. Your post is a classic call for help.

I know it sounds really rude, but I laughed when I read the op. "I volunteered, you don't support what I volunteered for, screw you".

As many have already stated, by all means, please stop "fighting for me". The truth is, you are fighting for a select few. The rest of us just want you home safe.

But please, save the pity party. You chose to do something, regardless of public sentiment. You don't get to cry about public sentiment now.
