I just don't understand why you were so quick to blame Americans. America is not perfect...far from it but we do more to help the world than any other nation that has ever existed. Sure, some of our corporations get lucrative contracts but in the end we promote weal more than woe. We defend Europe so they can cut their military spending and spend their considerable tax revenues on socialistic programs,which by the way still don't pacify many of their populace(Greece for example).

Why does Europe need defending?
They seem to have done a great job being conquerers in the past.

That's a good question. I would rather that we did not defend Europe with our troops and spend our tax dollars to keep bases there. It would not bother me at all had the Soviet Union gobbled Europe up. I would have rather kept our troops home and our tax dollars too. Maybe the U.S. wouldn't be broke now had we let the Euros fend for themselves.

Personally, i would say that the dog caught the unfortunate disease of the US military. The plague which causes death and destruction to all living things and infests almost every stretch of land it has no due cause to be in.

I don't see how this video is being used to deface the US, it's not propaganda. There is clearly an american soldier laughing, and the fact that they detonated the charge with perfect timing as to the dog's location. Are you suggesting that it should be censored because it defaces the US image?

The logical thing to do is to air it non-stop and tell the population "this is what your taxes are paying for", although in reality this will never happen because the government controls the news channels. This is outright disgusting, smoke and mirrors isn't the way to solve problems with sick and twisted people in this world... anyone who laughs at another creature die is not human and doesn't deserve to live on this earth.

This is just another example of the same old "do as we say, but not as we do" yet again.

Seeing as this is the "war on terror" subforum... can i ask, who do you think the terrorist's are from the persepective in this video?

So you're saying, that YES the military blew up the dog, but pointing that out is defacing the U.S.? Then you further justify it by claiming dogs are known to carry disease... Wow, hope you're in absolutely NO power over anything. If you are, I feel sorry for whoever is under you.

As for the video, it truly is disgusting. But at least the blast killed the dog instantly. (From what I could see.) Still horrible and cruel. And it's not the first documented case of animal cruelty amongst servicemen abroad. (Even Norwegian soldiers were caught shooting at dogs, maiming/killing them for fun.) There's a lot of soldiers that shouldn't be soldiers out there in my opinion. No wonder so many go insane when they come back and end up killing family members... Their existing psychotic tendencies were just amplified.

What if you had walked into the bomb and it exploded and people didn't care and laughed as you were dying? A life is a life no matter if its a ant or a dinosaur, all because something had hair and walks on four legs doesn't mean it doesn't have a heart and bleed red or feel pain. Innocence being killed or dying is horrible weather it be human or animal. I would feel sympathy for a regular soldier who was killed for protecting his land or people, but these "soldier's" who go into a country and kill, rape pillage life's of any kind for amusement will never get a tear from me, if i seen what happened to that dog happen to them soldiers i would sit their and laugh... Im no better then them you say? Yes i am because i never started the cycle of being amused by death to begin with, i would be ending the cycle in that situation.

Seriously i would have beat the breaks off these guys if they pulled that # when i was there. Nothing amusing about it, dumb mutha f****as! No wonder why we got so many casualties with dorks making it through asvab tests sake and then "politically correct basic" with mommas boys and kids from the short bus. We got Beavis and Butthead doing patrols now. Just wonderful.

That's word for word what I was going to reply.

Despicable and indefensible - as was the thread a few weeks ago showing a US soldier beating a goat to death while his fellow-officers stood round cheering him on. I think that thread got deleted, but not before it had turned my stomach.

I don't believe for a minute that all US soldiers share this depraved mentality, but those who do look like demons.

back in 2003 when i was deployed to this region,

we had orders to kill or remove dogs from our area because of the diseases they carry,
cause some dumbass G.I.s wanted to have a platoon pet that got them sick...

besides its a dog, there are alot of them that have stains on their fur from being in the waste of the Iraqi people due to no plumbing in most areas...

those dogs are usually sick themselves...

Dumb fckers... I was with Bravo 1/16 and my SGM made jokes how they used to shoot dogs. What the hell...Some of these guys talk about it like it was normal, or an everyday occurrence.
