you are talking about hard working, tax paying citizens who are being as* raped by the Government...

I actually wonder how many of those folks would be unemployed in a good or bad economy. Just saying that I doubt most of them are taxpayers.

It's humorous that we have these pro establishment thread's suddenly popping up here all the time. This site is now CRAWLING with payed minions, whose main objective is to distort, confuse, and divide.

They're doing a marvelous job.

It really is isn't it?

At first people were discussing these protests and now all of a sudden, every thread is attacking them and trying to discredit the movement... and then trying to say that everyone feels angry about it.

No they don't, it's just these these "agents" are being the most vocal, that's all.

I noticed a few days ago just how bad it's getting. This really is an information war, and ATS is the frontline it would seem. I don't mind a good fight though.

They don't even know what they are standing up against!! All they do is parrot the loudest voice heard in the crowd with the human megaphone routine. They need to be in DC at the root of all problems.

The hypocrisy within the movement is truly awesome as they pick and choose which gazillionaires to target and which to ignore.

I'm done and the people of NYC have apparently reached their tipping point as well.. Keep on pushing

So if you don't know what your standing up for, then you might as well stay home, cause you can't affect change? Is that what you are saying?

That. sir. is an AFFIRMATIVE! If you don't even know where you're going, you'll NEVER get there. If you don't have a goal, you'll NEVER reach it. What is going to become problematic is that while these folks don't have a unified goal, SOMEONE does, and that someone will co-opt the movement, and use these people's energy to reach his own goal. That's already happening.

Here's a test to try some day when you're bored. Hitch two horses to the same wagon, but send them in different directions, see how far that wagon gets. If that works out OK for you, hitch 300,000 horses to that same wagon, all pulling in different directions, and see where it goes.

Now put a team of drivers in the mix to get the herd moving all the same way. See? That works much better... for the drivers. The horses, of course, will go in whatever direction the herd is driven, carried along by the Tides, rather than their own wishes.

I'm pretty sure you don't speak for the people of New York. So don't kid yourself. The people of New York can't do anything about it, so they might as well join in.

Yay! Put MORE horses in the herd before you run it off the cliff!

Instead of running your mouth about things you know nothing about, how about you get off your couch and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

You know, one could make an observation here, but it would just be too damned easy....

Same as that man... I've been battling on several threads but there are so many morons and so much BS and propaganda being posted, It's hard to keep up.
Although I've noticed more and more people are speaking out against the campaign of misinfo and disinfo.

It's an economic war. Those who earned a lot of money are being hit up for more by those who have not. I don't know about the other folks' money, but mine came from breaking my back. I'm on board with those getting the money out and leaving those asking for more holding the empty bags.

Is it really surprising that NYC - synonymous with Wall Street - isn't happy with the OWS movement? Of course reports of problems and dissatisfaction with the protest will be floated by the media, a wholly owned subsidiary of the corp/gov chimera. Bloomberg anyone?

Funny how other cities and municipalities, closer to main street and not Wall St. are trying to work with and accomodate OWS protests.

Of all the OWS cities around the globe, the movement needs to hold the line in NYC most emphatically. The PTB know this. Look for a ramp up of provocateurs and propaganda and remember this - the core movement is peaceful.

Yep you're correct. The concept was fine, though a bit confusing as to what they actually wanted, but the tools took over and got the silent voter off side. It was bound to happen.

No its' just that "occupy" had no real message other than "I want your money" and people knew it was only a matter of time before the whack jobs got involved and turned the silent voter off the whole thing.

Why is it when people have a different view to the extremist they're accused of being agents? Must be the parranoia from the drugs.

Yes and they seem to see themselves as some kind of conscientious objectors refusing to be part of a system. As where in reality they're just professionally unemployed with no goals. Talk about the 99% I most likely wouldn't be wrong in assuming that 99% of the protesters don't know or even care what it's about.

Protesting high stakes derivative gambling and money in politics have nothing to do with "handouts".

Secondly, writing off protesters as welfare bums who are defecating all over the place is right out of Fox News.

You people sitting there with your noses in the air, I hope you're prepared for when the streets burn.

I am.

I've been in preparation for it my entire life.

The question you should ask yourself is are YOU prepared for the response when you set that fire?

Cops and such will be the very LEAST of your worries.

the more i see of these protesters the more i realize that they arent mad at teh millionaires, they are mad at people in teh same social standing as them who actually have jobs. why would you yell and scream at a lady going to work?

I would have to let them know that I'm fully aware of my position supporting The Man. I would tell them I'm a socialist and an atheist and would like to meet some of the people in their group so that we may form a commune. However, I'm too busy slaving to participate in their protest. I would add that many of them are ironically overpaying for the products I sell. In conclusion, it sucks to be us, and I hope they can break free from the system, as I doubt they can change it. Have a nice life.

We're talking about permits to assemble. When permits are needed to excercise any of our Constitutional Rights, what is protecting us from backlog? There is no law stating that requests for permits to assemble must be addressed in a reasonable amount of time.

Let's get this Constitution thing straight - first, it's as much mine as it is yours. Since you don't have a patent on it, it applies equally across the board. It doesn't just protect YOUR right to crap on my lawn, while denying MY right to have a lawn that isn't crap-filled.

Second, I see a lot of folks whining - not just you - about the First Amendment. What exactly is it you're thinking the First Amendment protects? It SAYS, specifically:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

"Petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Hmmm...

When did YOU vote for Wall Street to govern you?

For the umpty-zillionth ATS time, these people are aimed at the "wrong" target, and that is by DESIGN. There is a REASON for that, and that reason has nothing to do with defense of the Constitution. Quite the contrary - it has to do with the systematic disassembly of it.

Which you cheer on, by abusing it and misquoting it.

Petition your GOVERNMENT. Leave the rest of the citizens alone and stop infringing on THEIR rights, because when they reach a breaking point where they've finally had enough of these shenannigans, you'll find out just where the "99%" REALLY is.

I assure you, it will be an eye-opener.

LOL... wow... so many insults in just one post!!

It's not about wanting money, turn off Fox News and research a little.
More government money has been handed to banks than you probably realise.

You should attack the real bottom feeders, the real people who want something for nothing.... AKA... the 1%

Thats what I was thinking. Here come the threats just in time for Halloween. Ha!

Maybe the locals can invest some bailout money on cleaning up those "shenannigans"?
