You are free to assemble...you aren't free to start tent cities on private property.

Permits are in place to protect those who aren't protesting and don't want to live in an anarchist society.

Follow the rules and the laws and you can protest all you want.

You honestly believe that? We don't need permits nor should we be required to have permits because the minute we are not assembling peacefully, the government has every right to shut down a protest.

Do I honestly believe that permits are needed...yes, very much so.

Because I don't want my neighbor to set up a chemical plant in his garage...do you?

Oh yeah. Those are genuinely grotesque concerns! I can see why you would worry more about port-o-lets being tipped over than a collapsing global economy on the horizon. Thanks for waking us all up! It's a shame how all these people standing up for themselves against a tyranny are such a nuisance. Meh.

This thread is about the filth, defecating on people's private property near the Occupy site, the trash, and the loud noise at night when people are trying to sleep. Apparently people who live in Manhattan don't appreciate loud drumming at night when they have to get up early in the am to go to work. The Occupy movement seems to have made a lot of locals angry. And what does OWS care, as they just want their student loans paid off because they hate Capitalism.
That about sums things up.

We're talking about permits to assemble. When permits are needed to excercise any of our Constitutional Rights, what is protecting us from backlog? There is no law stating that requests for permits to assemble must be addressed in a reasonable amount of time.

4 pages and he's only replied 3 times in only the first page. That should tell you what you are dealing with.

......A troll with an agenda.

Can anybody show me evidence of people actually "raging" over OWS? ....NO? ....Ok!

Is there some law here that states an OP must respond at intervals demanded by people who read the thread? No wonder the OWS is supported by people who are totalitarians but won't admit it.

The OP of this thread has been on many OWS threads and has an agenda.... they are against the movement and along with others on the site, are trying every tactic to rubbish and discredit the movement.

Just ignore them.

Of course, just ignore everyone who is pointing out the communist, socialist, nazi, and CORPORATE influence of this protest.

Maybe you just need your own doorstep pooped on before you realize the impact of the protest on its neighbors.

The people angry at the noise and filth are of the 1%.

I mean, they couldn't be part of the 99%, right?

I thought it was an either/or for the OWS crowd.

I'm not into the whole rapture thing, but you need to know that not all Christians subscribe to it. You show your own thinking process when making statements like this. You are lashing out at Christians in a thread discussing porch-pooper protesters defacating on people's property, and calling for Christians to be got rid of too.

From what I understand there are few public toilets available in New York City. Like many places you "have to be a customer". So the city has created the problem by not providing enough public toilets for the public. Hence you end up with the smell of urine in the city.

they should round up everyone at these occupy parties and deport them to N. Korea.

they can go live in their socialist utopia they want so bad.

go protest obama and congress, theyre the ones who GAVE THE BANKS THE BAILOUTS.

and typical liberal hypocrisy, "if you dont like it, leave!"

ok, well if you dont like it here in the US, and how the banks and corporations make all the money. then please follow your own advice, and LEAVE.

we wont miss you. we will be better off without you. so, please. practice what you preach and leave.

And I told you...you don't need a permit to assemble...they have been doing it for over a month with no permit.

Now setting up a mini tent city with bathrooms...that is a sanitation issue...and yes you need a permit.

I don't get how you can cry about them not allowing you to assemble....while OWS has been going on for over a month

No, this is not supposed to be a revolution.

Because if you plan on revolting against MY country and the government officials we have Constitutionally voted into office...then we have a problem.

Believe me, you don't want this to be a revolution...because many will call for it to be quickly and decisively put down.

Stick with being a protest...work within our system or be prepared to be viewed as an outside threat.

Interesting, where is the idea coming from that the protesters are unorganized? That they are jobless? That they do not pay taxes? That they are doing this for the wrong reasons? That they have no love for this country?

Cause from what I've seen and read, they seem to be very organized, cause if they weren't organized then how are they are almost every major city in the US?

If they don't have jobs then where is the funding coming from? Obviously someone has a job which means someone is paying taxes. So those with ideas that they are jobless and don't pay taxes is flawed, because there is no way they could have stayed there that long without some sort of funding, and in the US all income is taxed. Plus, if I am not mistaken, we are in the age where technology is everywhere, which means jobs are not limited to going to an office or building 9-5, but instead now-a-days you can have a job that can be done with PCs, laptops, ipads, etcs. Who's to say that some of these individuals aren't web designers, programmers, authors, freelance writers, investors, bloggers, etc. All of these jobs do not require someone to be at a specific place to perform but can be done anywhere in the world, technology is so amazing, yet it seems there are those who seem to overlook these professions which are tax paying jobs. Amazing how many people are behind the times when it comes to the idea of "job" and what a "job" consists of.

I've also seen a lot of retired vets at the protests, I'm guessing they too fall into the jobless - no taxing paying category?

In large groups such as this you are always going to have factions, each with their main agenda or goal which might be the same as others or not. You'll also have bad apples in the bunch, but if your going to label the whole group based on the actions of a few, well then I got bad news for you, cause the US has done some really horrible things and are considered terrorists by a great many other countries. Think about that and about labeling these protesters due to a few foolish individuals.

Just food for thought.
