I think given the GOPs declared strategy of "Damn the Country, Obama must fail" the President has done suprisingly well. He has kept the ship from sinking despite the GOPs best efforts.

For as long as i can remember there has been a giant Uncle Sam billboard that has a political or social message of some sort on it. I have not traveled this far south on I-5 in some time now, so i have not seen the Obama billboards, but it sounds like the same area.

Here is an article from 2008 regarding that stretch of I-5

When that stretch of I-5 was first plotted in the 1950s it was designed to run straight through the middle of Hamilton Farms. We were unable to ferret out all the details, but it appears Hamilton's first sign was an act of protest against the highway being there at all. But by the 1960s, when the highway was finally built, the cash-strapped Hamilton had come up with an alternative revenue stream by renting advertising space on billboards on his property.
Then along came First Lady Ladybird Johnson, who was instrumental in getting the 1965 Highway Beautification Act passed. Designed to regulate the proliferation of commercial billboards along interstate highways (at which it largely failed), the act allowed existing non-conforming billboards to remain in place for several years. It wasn't until 1971 that the Attorney General came demanding Hamilton remove his signs, and it was right around then that his wife read that, for the first time, the state was spending more on welfare than on education. And so Uncle Sam was born.

As a child I always liked driving down this stretch of highway because there was always something new. Some of it was pretty bad, but for the most part it cracked me up.

IMO Free speech is free speech, and i am glad to see the family carrying on the legacy of the original land owner.

I wonder if this is by the same group that posted the "Thank God for George Bush" signs during the bush presidency.

They did the exact same thing. And so , please rinse and repeat.

Example: Obama, Biden, Pelosi all voted AGAINST providing body armor for the troops in IRAQ. Along with reinforced metal plating on HUM V to protect against land mines and RPGs. Along with many other needed materials for survival. But I guess, I can see why they would do that. After all, the more troops that die, the more Bush looks like he has failed. That is how evil and corrupt and exteme your party has gone to . Want proof? Just look up their voting history on Foreighn Policy.

More on topic. These signs are racist if you are using the leftist definition of racism. That would be anything critical of a minority is racist. This goes double for a minority in office. Some animals are more equal than others you see....
