Chile just evacuated people apparently because the tsunami is heading to South America, so crazy.

It amazes me at how many countries/states are evacuating/being warned because of the tsunami's. Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Chile, etc.

truth is stranger than fiction ! things are happening much faster than in the average disaster movie.

2149: The Kyodo news agency is now citing a safety panel as saying that the radiation level inside one of the reactors at the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant is 1,000 times higher than normal.

Hawaii got hit by a Tsunami earlier but it caused only minmum damage. Nothing to worry about.

Well, I am no earthquake expert really, but it generally it seems that the belief is that it wouldn't affect us for millions of years until the plates converge on one another. Some people who preach doom on ATS might tell you otherwise though and who really knows.

Edit: Here in America we should probably be worrying about the new madrid fault line though, seeing as how quiet it is most of the time is a cause to be nervous IMO.

i think the main concern right now is the Nuclear Plant leaking radioactive gas.
Aftershocks are taking place all over, but i'm pretty sure a strong enough one can cause the situation in Fukushima to be agravated. They should have evacuated HOURS ago.

The coasts of Chile are being evacuated due to tsunami alert. Easter Islans has been succesfully evacuated i believe.
