Looks as if Rat Islands may be in and out all over the weekend. It has been deleted and reinserted twice now.

Last time this happened I think it got up to 140 or so times before they found the fault in the server. Hope it won't keep on turning up. I will have to turn the siren off!

I think there are twenty or more Alaska ones doing the same - and the Virgin Island quake has been deleted 268 times so far.

It could be Monday before this is fixed. It was 2 servers with a communication problem last time. I have notified USGS.

MOUNT ST. HELENS AREA, WASHINGTON

Checked out all the Mt St Helen's seismos and there was no quake at 19:18

edit on 4/11/2011 by PuterMan because: (no reason given)

We seem to be missing a Mt Rainier quake at about 09:59:30 UTC. Show on RCS, but not on RER or RCM, and it shows on Mt St Helens Coldwater and Marble, and on Glacier Peak. On St Helens it is only slightly smaller that the 1.6 so it must have been bigger than the 1.9 at 02:35

BTW I told a porky about the 19:18 perhaps. You can just see something here. B203.PB..EHZ.2011.308 and here B204.PB..EHZ.2011.308 but the quake is at around 19:46? so not the 19:18 I guess.

The 09:59 is a mystery. I don't know why that is not reported.

I figured that size quake would be noticed by a few people...

I only hope it's all we see from the middle of the country right now, heaven and hell both know we don't need any more rattling along that area.

Felt here in Tulsa, OK. Strongest I've experienced since I moved here in 1997. Felt like about a 2.5. Lasted close to 3 minutes with a few very weak aftershocks.
Edited to add this was really 2 quakes around Prague, OK. The second one was 3.4.

Ok.....so I am not going to freak out today, I did that yesterday.

Calm me says: I hope Oklahoma does not awaken Arkansas for a bigger one today or in the coming days. I understand a bigger one in the area cannot be ruled out so ...yeah. Keeping my fingers crossed.

As the Massive Sun Spot becomes earth directed this weekend lets hope we don't see a massive x flare/cme coming our way. I wonder what a big one would really do. We had a big x flare some months ago and I do not recall it doing anything.....do ya'll?

My sister said the 4.7 OK quake shook her out of the bed. Kinda of a freaky wake up call. 6 so far this morning. Makes you wonder what all is going to get stirred up from those today. I am an hour east of Tulsa and only woke to the last 2 little ones. I must have really been a tired girl but my ears feel like they are going to explode and I know you have looked at our arkansas helicorder displays by now. Nothing like waking up and feeling anxious right off the bat.

There will be more as long as they are fracking and injecting. Stay safe and check your home for damages that are visible.

I am not sure if this is the Jones fault line or not. Awaiting Puterman to fill us in.

The biggest of the 8 Eq's so far was a 4.7 followed by 7 (so far) aftershocks. We can expect to see many aftershocks in the next few days and of course can't rule out an even bigger one either.

Hopefully the US will calm down and enough energy has been released. This is what I'm hoping for as I would hate to see a bigger one in any area here as we cannot take such damage that may occur.

The New Madrid/Arkansas swarm has been quiet since the Oklahoma ones began...not sure if that is a good sign or not...it may not mean anything whatsoever.

It is a wait and see kind of game now.

I have to wonder though if this disturbance will kick off more in the US in the next few days. Time will tell.
